I have 4 waterholes that have been dry almost all summer, so I took a chance on a swale within sight of my main hunting spot, dug it out and dammed the lower edge, and it half filled in an overnight. I need all the help I can get, since my apple crop is small and dropping early. Looking forward to the start of our gun season on the 28th.
Nice success! We often make our own success with hard work and new projects as we strive to improve the landscape! You did just that! Congrats on the new pond!
I've got a little Homestead close to Richland Missouri & it has a year-round spring that dumps into the gasconade & I was really surprised how many deer I see around my spring
Good video Mr K 👍 is there a possibility that there could be enough water in that spring if dug out you could use your pump and irrigate the food plot next to it 🤔
I'd say unlikely unless I dug a large pond, and it filled completely. Then it would work. But I will definitely dig out a small pond there to catch more of that spring water! Thanks
Good deal finding that spring! I put a 2021 game cam video up last week with some nice bucks but don’t hold a candle to that mess of bucks you got! I think Sabertooth would be a unique mount on your wall but may be even more impressive next year. I see a few bucks with forked, almost palmated tines on my cameras and not sure how to take them? Guessing that would be a fault or genetic mutation? I’ll know more when I check a camera that’s been in the woods since March 2024. I really need to check that!
Very cool that you found a good trail cam spot! This farm CAN be so much more in a few years but we'll see how the hunting/harvesting goes and how well I do with food plots and new watering sources! I love the trail cam action! Thanks!
Alright, now you're actually figuring out how your deer are using your new property. Looks like the "crossing" has created a pinch point or is a "travel corridor". Now just find out where these deer are coming from and going to. Just takes time and several seasons to find these things out.

A nice bonus to find a spring there that provides water even during drought conditions.
Yes no doubt! I'd like to capitalize on it soon!
A spring is a blessing
For sure! What a nice bonus to find on a drought year and before I have made any new watering ponds! Take care thanks!
Hello Kapper & Sharon! Glad its going good, love the deer having a drinking hole, and seeing them!😊
Thanks so much we appreciate it!
It's awesome water is life good work kapper
You got that right! Such a nice little bonus!
Always enjoy your content 😊
I appreciate that! Thank you! We will be constantly learning and exploring the MO farm!
Bet it leads to that cave filled with ancient artifacts. ❤
I hope so! Sharon has started exploring on weekends now since its cooling off a bit!

Man that is like having wildlife gold! Hard to beat year round water, except maybe year round food! :0
What a cool find! Update us if you find the source.
Yeah I may dig it out just a few buckets worth to really capitalize on it! But a great bonus for sure!
Need to dig it out a little deeper and move the road over .
yeah I will likely do that in the coming days! What a nice bonus! All I need is to take a couple scoops out and it should fill overnight :)

Yep the intel is rolling in! One small move at a time my friend! Thanks
Did you catch Bigfoot about 7 minutes in 😂
I don't recall! Maybe I missed him in the background!?
