I had this thing in my mind that this field is interconnected to so many major domains that the notion of it being confined to something related to food only will be a misjudgement. And that is what i keep telling my friends who are in other fields, since they are unaware of this fact that how diverse this field goes. Really grateful for your thoughts & motivation.

Another dout is, I am a double degree student in Bsc Botany & Biotechnology. Now it's time for Msc and I have two options in front of me. 1, Choose MSc Biotechnology, Bioinformatics etc (like my Seniors). 2, Choose MSc Food Technolgy. When looking my intrest, I'm interested in both fields and i know both feilds are good, but don't know which is better for me. And when I examined my interest, i find more interest towards Food tech when compared to Biotech. The reason I think is that, I had completed a 1 year Certificate in Canning and Food Preservation and a 2 month Certificate course in Assistant Dietician and both of them were nice. I'm little bit confused and I don't know what to choose.. And I check for an opinion in Google, UA-cam and all.. but didn't find a good satisfying answer. Could you please help me.

So I'd like to shoot my query here I'm planning to switch my career from Biotechnology to food technology The reason being is that i think Biotechnology offers job which are majorly related to research field And food technology offers jobs into management and operations side as well..and I'm more attracted towards the operations side than the research work so this confusion definitely gained clarity to a tad with this video. I don't think you're wrong with this approach. You can definitely go for food technology if the job roles of food industry interest you. And a lot of people switch from biotech or life sciences to food technology because it's more application and operation based domain.

Not specific to food technology, but there are certificates related to HACCP, ISO 22000 etc.
