    Just a thought, but since the intent of this video is to be instructional, maybe next time avoid the annoying music and explain what you are doing, materials used, etc. Other than that, very nice job.

    this is an excellent example of vinyl wrapping! Thank you so much for posting this! I don't think I'm going to be fully wrapping much, but it gives me a good idea of how to work with contoured objects.

    this blue tape is 3M tape for car painting and this red stripe is the same vinyl as the white or black one witch i used in helmet wrap, just cutted 5mm thin. Hope my answer will help you.

  • @aplimelv
    @aplimelv  11 років тому +2

    no, you must use industrial heatgun - when everything is done you must heat the vinyl around 90 degrees celsius to prevent unsticking.

    I noticed that a lot of the commentators have a lot of the same question, regarding tape, material, etc. Any chance you might consider posting tools, material, even brands in the description section?

  • @listerjones

    The Blue tape is fine line masking tape, comes in a variety of thicknesess, the red is fine line edging tape. 3M is the better fine line tape, has good adhesive properties. I've been a custom painter for years and swear by 3m, its not just a marketing gimmick, it really is the best stuff.

    wrapping is faster and you dont need to wait till paint is drying. + after you can easy remove foil and you got your'e previous design.

    • @Stickerslapper
      @Stickerslapper 6 років тому

      it is possible. But.... Depending on the outcome you are looking for . design and such doing it in sections is a huge time saver and frustration saver.
      But with the right vinyl you can do it.

    what the name/kind of BLUE TAPE you used?

    • @Richard97402
      @Richard97402 9 років тому

      It's fine line tape... but you would be better off using knifeless tape. It takes a LOT of practice to cut through the vinyl without cutting into the helmet's graphic/paint. Knifeless tape is the same size, but cuts the vinyl from below, so it is impossible to cut into the helmet.

    After watching the pros do it, You use the heat gun way to much. I know its hard wrapping a helmet with only the 1 person. At least you wore a glove like most youtube wrappers that do not. But you still did a nice looking wrap.

I am curious of the materials used and would have liked an explanation of the techniques used in the video tho cause all kidding aside it did turn out cool I just liked it better before.
