    I definitely gotta use this technique fr consistency. Xfactor : sound sources don’t all translate the same especially in an analyzer to final output. Ear is the only reliable processor in my experience

    If you can't hear it, you cant mix it. You can be lucky, but bass issen't all about ammount, but how it hits, tightness, how it relates to the rest, etc. Would highly recommend getting the subwoofer or great headphones

    So what is really the point of doing this?

    OK I see what you're going for but do you really want all of your rhythm section instruments to have the same frequency response in the low end? Aren't they gonna start canceling each other out or just walking all over each other? How do you get separation if they all have the same low frequency response and EQ curve?

    Honestly, I’m not sure about that.

    This mixing technique looks like it could cause potential masking issues between the drum bus and bass.

    One day I aspire to be a snotty UA-cam commenter who spends his days waiting for the next Waves video.
    Until then I'll just have to settle for using their plugins to make music.

    Lol all these crap engineers in the comments dissing waves as if all the best engineers in the business don’t heavily rely on their plug-ins still. Jaycen Joshua is a prime example and he’s had more No. 1 that you could dream of. Serban, too.

    You know you can do this (in real time) with ProQ-3, right?

    Just maching curves without context isn't the healthiest practice. While it can be useful if you know what you're refrencing with and the sound you're trying to achieve, it's still just bad practice if you're new to mixing and are trying to progress.

    I reckon ears are less used this way. So yeh... wonder how many mix this way every session, all the time.

    This is what Joe Barressi would refer to as "engineEYES" instead of enginEARS.
    It's no wonder all that stuff sounds the same.

      If companies produce Metering Plug-ins, why shouldn’t we use them?

    • @andreybenassi1
      @andreybenassi1 2 роки тому

      It's just tools, different methods of metering.

    • @zachary963
      @zachary963 2 роки тому

      I absolutely agree. Using the same metering plugins is why every song has the same four chords.

    Can we get a tutorial where someone is working on a decent nice song, not another mediocre country-pop bullshit from 1997?

      The world is full of shit songs. Which should be a good thing if you're able to write good songs, except there's so much shit out there people will drown in it before they are able to find the good stuff you make.

    Buy yourself good flat frequency headphones. You'll never make a good mix just by looking at an analyser.

  • @mikebee888
    @mikebee888 2 роки тому

    I'll never going to buy waves again. The V 12 plugins doesn't going work with Windows 11 they say. You have to upgrade and pay for V 13 for all your plugins then. Good bye!!
