Don't buy Swan Smart Alexa kettle until you watch this video, it is not ready

I usually let view decide if a product is nay or yay from watching my video but I managed to destroy the Swan Smart kettle by 2nd use...
2:30 Unboxing
6:06 WiFi/Alexa connection
8:52 Phone app/voice command test
11:46 Pour test
12:15 Boil to 100c
15:00 No water in tank test
No water level indicator because of the double insulated side walls, Phone app low water warning not working = burn out kettle...could be worse.
After the kettle cooled it worked again but I will give this kettle a miss and stick to my dumb kettle for now until they fix the water level sensor or built in a water level window.

Great video. I was thinking about buying this so can't understand why a smart kettle without level indicator, wouldn't have a cut off feature to prevent dry boil. The whole reason for smart kettle is to have set timer routines and to start kettle while in a different room. If I have to check the kettle has water in before turning on, then I might as well be stood next to it anyway.

To be fair it boil dry then shut down until cool down then it will work again just like any kettle would but during shut down all electronic shut down and you won’t even be able to see any power indicator lol so dumb in that sense

Was the kettle still heating or just really hot inside when you opened it after it auto switched off? I see you said it started working again after it cooled down. Do you still think it’s a waste of time and not worth buying?

@@martybli I think there will be people who need the function like keep warm after boiled etc. the fact that it does not have a water indicator and it allows it to heat up with no water inside is just not worth the hassle for me

For 8 months and it works fine and the app says off when it’s go no water in it as it should

I bought one. And occasionally the kettle will be unresponsive but WiFi signal is strong. I have to keep unplugging my alexa echo, wait few nano secs. Then it will respond. But I love the gadget.

I sold this to a couple local to me who needed the keep warm function after boiling, they love it. I sold it really cheap, cheaper than a standard kettle so they got a bargain. They will not pay full price ever, that’s their words, not mine
