Dude, don't listen to anyone who thinks you're a wimp if you think these things are scary. Honestly, Giygas still really creeps me out, and Blizzeta did briefly freak me out when she suddenly turns around with that face. It's kind of like screamer. Anyway, you shouldn't care what others say. You're no wimp if you think any of these are scary.
Omg this video is over 10 years old now! I couldn't afford many video games back then and I loved Nintendo (still do) and scary things (also still do) so I watched this video every day and fantasized about playing these games. Thank you for keeping this video available! A lot of my old favourites have been made private now but I'm happy I cans till watch this one!
One of My favorites was that sword from Donkey Kong Country 2 Duffy’s Kong Quest. At first it was a sword held by a lava hand, but then when you THINK I died but THEN I flys by itself! OMG!!!
Thank you so much for posting this video. It introduced me to the most epic series of JRPGs ever made. That game series should be more recognized and more than just a kid's game. It had a modern setting, a kid character, and a bunch of quirky gameplay that makes it the best JRPG ever made...Earthbound. (Yeah, I know you were all expecting Pokemon when I said "Best JRPG ever made", and "More than just a kid's game.")
The amazing thing is, I could name almost everything and what game they come from before you even told us! Even some on the honourable mentions! This video brought back SO many memories from the childhood. Thanks :)
Very interesting selection. Most of these videos I see are bad with their choices but you did goo I think. : ) I'm glad someone FINALLY included SA-X in the list. She terrified me! ^.^ As well as how you included Nightmare. (FUSION VERSION). Although I'm surprised Dead Hand wasn't on the list. That guy haunted my dreams when I was younger. 0.0 Sweet vid though.
Nice job having 3 Metroid Fusion bosses on this list, they're creepy as hell. Serris scared the crap out of me too, and the SA-X.. I don't even want to talk about it. Also, the spider boss freaked me out because it felt like you were trapped.
@TheZebco33 thanks for the sub. And btw I did play starfox adventures and the final boss was on this list lol. I've played resident evil too and its a fun game. Didnt really scare me at all though. The only game that even made me jump in the past 5 years was Minecraft. I know it sounds silly but thats a pretty creepy game XD
I remember first seeing this video come up in the related videos, and then play Star Fox Adventures and be surprised seeing the boss in the thumbnail, I didn't think it would be in a Starfox game
OMS I love Armogohma! The music was epic, too! And the way you had to control a statue in order to pound it on the stomach? AWESOME! The statues were SWEET!
I have a weird feeling in the back of my mind that this video or something else from that time period is what kickstarted all those other videogame top 10 channels and snowballed into even bigger channels like Watchmojo. Or maybe I’m biased because this was the first countdown video I ever saw as a kid.
Gotta say, ya got me off guard with giratina it never really struck me as a boss, but thinking on it now I see where you were goin with it. Good honorable mention....... I love pokemans
#4 is one of my favorite bosses of all time :D he looks prett cool though besides as i played SF adventures i wasnt a kid anymore so i cant tell that i got scared :D but he looks so awesome ! and btw really nice vid dude
Might I make a few suggestions on things to look up if you'd like scary bosses. Granfaloon: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Boss made entirely of corpses which will drop them to march at you. Dahaka: Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within. Another boss that likes to chase you around. And in comparison with the SA-X, you have to run from the Dahaka, while avoiding pitfalls, traps, and all of the lovely other things the Prince has to avoid.
@Bigarceus I'm sorry then ok. I was watching this on an iPod. And there is a bug with UA-cam on iPod where the description does not appear sometimes. So basically I didnt get to read the description cuz of that bug.
@Bigarceus "Some of the bosses on the list on this video (mostly the honorable mentions) are totally improvised and are just there because I couldn't think of any other bosses that were scary to me" QUOTED FROM DESCRIPTION PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!
I don't really blame you for Blizzeta. The moment she appeared with her spinning face and yelling "NOT TAKE MIRROR!", I deffinatly jumped. Hell, I still jump when that fight starts.
You know what's funny and interesting? When at the end of the video you said it's like something you'd see in a nightmare, well that's just how Giygas was made. Story: During young age, Shigasato Itoi (Maker Of Earthbound or Mother), accidentally walked into an adult theater, and thought he saw a rape seen under a bridge, later he used the nightmare to make Giygas, hence him having a baby fetus in his damged 2nd form
I don't recall mario galaxy being out when you were so called a "Kid" if you were 17 then, then being being a kid must mean that you were like 15 or so
The problems I have with this list: A: Personal phobias are subjective. Bosses that fall under this line of thought should not be on here. B: Serris's only scary moment was when it appeared, and even then, it's only because he takes you by surprise (but just barely). Nightmare still wins because he sets proper atmosphere and his appearance does more to frighten the Serris does. Have you seen him in Metroid Other M? My word... C: If you were low on ideas, then maybe you should've expanded?
I really like that you put up this video giyas actually was the scariest vidoe game boss i played as a kid. Its actially cool that some people ignolage it. Thanx
I think that the red eye king is #1. I mean the way he chases you in that map, he chooses the fastest rout to you and you don't know where he's going to come from. The level is a square and you're on opposite sides. "Where is he?" That's what you're constantly saying. And then that massive size appears and you're running away knowing that he's behind you. If you miscalculate where he's going to come from then you feel the ground shaking as he comes behind you. You turn around and there he is!
@Bigarceus I understand. Don't talk down to me as though I'm a child. I aware the list is Nintendo only, I was aware from the beginning. I'm also aware that this is a list of only games you've played, making this more of a personal list. I'm not implying you should change it, or that you are 'wrong', or anything like that. All I'm saying, and I said it from the beginning, I was disappointed. No big deal, don't take it personally.
Actually, Kirby games are in-famous for their overall cute and childish style AND for their extremely creepy and/or powerful final bosses. It's like they take all the "matrue" stuff these games appearantly lack and throw it at you in one hard-as-hell package of pure horror at the very end!
God number 4 was so horrible, not only were you trapped in a claustrophbic under ground cave thing but if you missed an attack on him by a second he would get so pissed and run after you! God damn you king pink eye
the luigis mansion baby boss was scary when i was five. i was like: YAY! BONUS LEVEL! and this disco floor appeared, then this baby pops out of the sky randomly and screams extremly loud, with a crazy face on, and the baby stared crying. when this was happening, then screen started shaking like crazy. that scared me shitless.
10: what the hell is that thing? 9: how could they put a bleeding angel in a kirby game? 8: LOOK OUT, ITS THE GIANT KILLER FISH! 7: andross is one scary monkey. 6: you´re not the only one scared of spiders. 5: nintendo+pigs=GANON! 4: this scared me *sarcasm*. 3: HA! *jumps in the air*.2: O_O *faints on the floor* 1: i saw it coming, i mean, theres a lot of people who have gyigas on their lists, but still, gyigas is evil, and he will never leave your mind until you die...
Woo! Giyagas! If you've played Earthbound, you just can't argue that Gygias doesn't deserve to be #1. It's a unaware, psychotic, violently chaotic entity of a self-destructed alien's mental subconscious. It absorbs all attacks and babbles illogically at Ness while killing him with an onslaught of unstoppable attacks all the while Paula continuously prays for help to no avail. The fact that the rest of the entire game is so goofy and upbeat makes this final encounter all the more disturbing.
If you want another good example of a boss that hunts you, look no further than the Waterwraith (Pikmin 2). Sure, he's an easy boss, but he hunts you down all the way to the boss room and can't be hurt until the boss fight. The Ultimate Chimera (Mother 3) could also count, but then again you don't fight him. You just run away, or he sends you straight to the Game Over/Continue screen. And if we're going away from Nintendo a bit (Monster Ock in honorable mention), what about the Nemesis (RE 3)?
Okay I gotta admit it was alright but I honestly think Blizzeta would be #1 on my list I mean The first time Me and my Bro(He was the 1 playing) got to the Snowpeak mountain and reached the boss. And when the scene changed, I found myself freaken screaming my lungs off. My bro gave out a yelp and covered his eyes quickly trying to get rid of the picture. 0_e Oh god... But I also have to admit that Giygas is kind of as well, but more on the creepy scale then the scary scale.
@KyuRisa thanks. and giygas is scary because its implied that it's a fetus and you're trying to stop it from being born. I heard that Giygas is also based on rape.
Yeah, kingfin is pretty scary. Just think about it, guys. You're on a planet that looks a bit dark. There's all water around. You don't know what's going to happen... Then you have to fight him with a scary music behind...
its not a really good picture, but Giygas apparently takes the embodiment of what looks like a foetus (unborn child still inside the womb) and was created from a nightmare that one of the producers once had. It doesn't seem all that terrifying, but for a cute game like Earthbound,it's something unexpected and creepy for the game.
I've seen Giygas on virtually every video like this so far, so that doesn't surprise me. The only one of those bosses that actually got to me was the SA-X. That face scares the shit out of me, and don't get me started on the hunting part.
Every spot, all the way from1 to 10, should be Giygas. Not only the most disturbing Nintendo boss, but quite possibly the most disturbing boss in the history of gaming.
I don't feel Zero2 is something that needs improvising. Sure, some people won't find him scary now, in fact, when I first saw him, I wasn't too scared, but in terms of the Kirby series, he is easily seen as scary/disturbing. His boss theme does sound epic, but it also sounds pretty haunting, especially in the opening. His flailing around the appearance of his weakpoint do kinda reduce scare factor though, it's just silly. 8: "ahh" "Pop scare." 6: Person+Devil Frog=Eggs in Carcass. That is all.
Umm. OK, I read the discription, and I completely get what you're saying. But, please bear with mw when I say that Zero Two does not bleed. I saw a video of him against kirby, and I did not see any blood.
When I got to Giygas in Earthbound the moment I saw him I turned off my SNES, took the cartridge out, and buried it in my backyard thinking it was going to come to life and kill everyone.
when phantom ganondorf came out of the painting, i literally screamed, threw the controller up and RAN. no joke. (I was five, so i don't want to hear anything about me being a baby.)
@supermonkey970 first of all there was only one mario boss on the whole video. second, the only reason i put it on my list is because i was running out of ideas. i can tell you didn't even read the description which i pointed out on the video itself. I clearly stated that some of the bosses were improvised including kingfin and the honorable mentions. next time read the description or read the comments because im tired of annoying comments like this.
Oh God, that one part down when you had to run past the SA-X and get away from it...that shit scarred me for life and I now quake with fear whenever I get back to that part...
Argh, Blizzeta... Scared the crap out of me when I played the game, scared the crap out of me in this vid. You got me to hit mute and switch browser tabs... >.< Freaky freaky...
The SA-X definitely tops my list of scariest bosses ever. It hunts u in game and until u finally face near the end, u fear its appearance b/c u know it'll kill u.
Giygas was so scary. It took all my courage to even get to the point in the battle where my script glitch would kick in. Which was 1 minute into the battle!
@CollyWogs1 i respect the guy's opinion. i was just sayin how he didn't seem creepy to me. i never called him a wuss or a lil kid for it like most trolls who watch my video. Please im not the bad guy here.
One thing, why do a lot of people say Ghoma is scary? I mean, some enemies or bosses scare me easily but Ghoma never scared me. The first time I played Oot she was intimidating but not scary.
1:14 Zero Two doesn't bleed when you shoot him... He's actually crying blood, which is even worse than simply bleeding when it comes to a game where you play as an adorable pink puffball. O____O
@Bigarceus that right there contradicts the entire video then. If the ones in the top 10 were the ones that were supposedly supposed to scare you then how could you have run out of ideas. You say during the honorable mentions that you were "running out of ideas" not "I ran out of Ideas so I put together random bosses that I know don't scare me seeing I'm 15 but if I played it as a 4 year old then I would have been scared." And giygas isn't even scary. I don't see why everyone says that
I used to play StarFox 64 and Andross' mechanised face seemed quite more disturbing than this one you've shown on #7. By the way, the first time i've got frightened by a boss-like was when I played Mario 64. Inside the "J. Roger Bay" (3rd. Stage, i think..) there was a giant creepy eel deeply that made me so scared when opened its mouth.
The good ol' days of Top 10s. I was just going through my liked videos and this was apparently the first video I have ever liked.
Suprised the water wraith from Pikmin 2 isn't here.
me two
Fun fact:
Andross and many other Star Fox 64 characters were voiced by Rick May, who is also the voice of the Soldier from Team Fortress 2.
Dude, don't listen to anyone who thinks you're a wimp if you think these things are scary. Honestly, Giygas still really creeps me out, and Blizzeta did briefly freak me out when she suddenly turns around with that face. It's kind of like screamer. I agree with this list, man! They all are pretty scary, especially SA-X, Blizzeta and Giygas
Red-eye king is still insanely difficult for me to this day
I don't care how old this is... I still love this video UwU
It showed me so many cool characters
Thank you for making it
One of
My favorites was that sword from Donkey Kong Country 2 Duffy’s Kong Quest. At first it was a sword held by a lava hand, but then when you THINK I died but THEN I flys by itself! OMG!!!
How come that description wasn't in the "top 8 most friggin annoying characters", or whatever it's called, video?
Thank you so much for posting this video. It introduced me to the most epic series of JRPGs ever made. That game series should be more recognized and more than just a kid's game. Thank you so much for posting this video. :3 If you never made this video, I would have never become the hard core EarthBound fan I am today. :3
A deleted boss in Mother 3 is more creepy than Giygas
my oppinion

SA-X was an awesome villain! Haven't watched updated version of your list yet, but here's hoping it's still inculdes SA-X! :)
Gotta say, ya got me off guard with giratina it never really struck me as a boss, but thinking on it now I see where you were goin with it. Good honorable mention....... I love pokemans
Great list, and your responses were entertaining. Good job overal.
What's the music that plays during the honorable mentions?
#4 is one of my favorite bosses of all time :D he looks prett cool though besides as i played SF adventures i wasnt a kid anymore so i cant tell that i got scared :D but he looks so awesome ! and btw really nice vid dude
when blizetta popped up with louder music, i once again got that feeling of no curculation in my hands.
@Bigarceus I know, I know... I just sort of get the impression you haven't really looked around for scarier bosses.
I agree highly with your decision. The sheer horror and magnitude of the darkness imbued within it...absolutely, this is the scariest boss ever.
Why is the theme for blizzetta in maximum volume?
@Bigarceus I'm sorry then ok. I was watching this on an iPod. And there is a bug with UA-cam on iPod where the description does not appear sometimes. So basically I didnt get to read the description cuz of that bug.
Thank you for putting the "red eye King" in your list I fought him earlier and he was very scary
@Bigarceus "Some of the bosses on the list on this video (mostly the honorable mentions) are totally improvised and are just there because I couldn't think of any other bosses that were scary to me"
QUOTED FROM DESCRIPTION PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!
I don't really blame you for Blizzeta. The moment she appeared with her spinning face and yelling "NOT TAKE MIRROR!", I deffinatly jumped. Hell, I still jump when that fight starts.
Bongo Bongo scared the shit out of me as a kid. He deserves to be on here higher than an honorable mention.
*sees #1*
Well there goes my sleep.
Giygas is actually really horrific.
Demonic and just makes you anxious.
I don't recall mario galaxy being out when you were so called a "Kid" if you were 17 then, then being being a kid must mean that you were like 15 or so
The problems I have with this list:
A: Personal phobias are subjective.
Where is the song in the beginning from, i've herd it before but i can't remember and it's driving me nuts >_
#2 would give anyone nightmares. That first scene when she turns from a friendly yeti to a scarey monster would scare the fuck out of anyone
You: I was never a big fan of spiders.
Me: Tell me about it.
@TheJpiscool Wait, is Zero Two in Kirby 64 or another game? I might be looking at the wrong game... But he does not bleed in Kirby 64.
I really like that you put up this video giyas actually was the scariest vidoe game boss i played as a kid. Its actially cool that some people ignolage it. Thanx
I love Link´s face when you finish with Almagohma
Link:"Yeah I finish with anoter boss!!!! Wait, oh shit"
God forbid you from getting yourself grown-up horror games, you'd probably have a piss-attack xD
i skipped ahead to number 2 and i saw the scary picture with the loud music, i jumped back, covered my mouth, and almost had a heart attack
I wasn't expecting to see Monster Ock here. Nice choice, mate.

And if we're going away from Nintendo a bit (Monster Ock in honorable mention), what about the Nemesis (RE 3)?
It was obligatory that Giygas had to be there.
Okay I gotta admit it was alright but I honestly think Blizzeta would be #1 on my list
I mean The first time Me and my Bro(He was the 1 playing) got to the Snowpeak mountain and reached the boss. And when the scene changed,
I found myself freaken screaming my lungs off.
My bro gave out a yelp and covered his eyes quickly trying to get rid of the picture.
0_e
Oh god...

Zero Two always scared the hell out of me as a kid. He's just so weird looking. And the music added to it.
Every spot, all the way from1 to 10, should be Giygas. Not only the most disturbing Nintendo boss, but quite possibly the most disturbing boss in the history of gaming.
I loved the threat at the end of the description. I'M SUPER SERIAL YOU GUYS.
I don't feel Zero2 is something that needs improvising. Sure, some people won't find him scary now, in fact, when I first saw him, I wasn't too scared, but in terms of the Kirby series, he is easily seen as scary/disturbing. His flailing around the appearance of his weakpoint do kinda reduce scare factor though, it's just silly.
8: "ahh" "Pop scare."
6: Person+Devil Frog=Eggs in Carcass.
The thing that freaked me out the most about Giygas was the fact that his pattern actually resembles a fetus in the fight... :/
all of you, play dq9. i defy anyone not to jump when corvus, the final boss, starts transforming and stares at you with red eyes. *shudder*
when phantom ganondorf came out of the painting, i literally screamed, threw the controller up and RAN. no joke. (I was five, so i don't want to hear anything about me being a baby.)
LMFAAO, Blizzetta ^^
"NOT TAKE MIRROR!", that part was more epic than scary imo
Dude those hands that protected the Sols in the Twilight Realm from Twilight Princess scared me more than Blizzeta and Armogohma
Lol! "go to full screen if you're brave." That was funny! ... I minimized the window actually.
What is 009 music? Im 29 and I have never heard of it. If it would ruin it for everyone Then maybe I don't wanna know. Cheers Mate!
Monster Oc, one of the honorable mentions, is NOT a Nintendo boss. He was the final boss of Spiderman, which was ALSO on the PS1.
It can be very suspenseful. I must admit that.
Some bosses did actually scare me as a kid.
The only thing really scary about Blizzeta is the "NOT TAKE MIRROR!!!" part, and it's not sacry as it's frightening. I just said "Oh shit!"
@Bigarceus do you have aracnaphobea ? just want to know @.o
Phantom Ganon is too scary i like this boss especially when he does that evil laugh and dons a sinister and diabolical looking mask as well.
The SA-X definitely tops my list of scariest bosses ever. It hunts u in game and until u finally face near the
end, u fear its appearance b/c u know it'll kill u.
As bad as the vid really is nowadays, this was the vid that introduced me to giygas
Giygas was so scary. It took all my courage to even get to the point in the battle where my script glitch would kick in. Which was 1 minute into the battle!
Wait...these bosses used to scare you when you were a kid...but some of these are pretty recent...
@CollyWogs1 i respect the guy's opinion. i was just sayin how he didn't seem creepy to me. i never called him a wuss or a lil kid for it like most trolls who watch my video. Please im not the bad guy here.
If Samus was called "Semus", then what would the Sa-x be called?
I took youre full screen challange and i emerged victorious
@Bigarceus WHATS THE NAME OF ZERO TWO SONG ITS PRETTY COOL
One thing, why do a lot of people say Ghoma is scary? I mean, some enemies or bosses scare me easily but Ghoma never scared me. The first time I played Oot she was intimidating but not scary.
The description in the video for every bosses makes me laugh.
first time i saw blizetta, i went,OMFG THE HELL MAKE IT STOP! i jumped when she faced me with that face
1:14 Zero Two doesn't bleed when you shoot him... He's actually crying blood, which is even worse than simply bleeding when it comes to a game where you play as an adorable pink puffball. O____O
I can understand why you'd put a spider boss as a scary one.
I see Giygas on the list so many times he's no longer even remotely scary to me.
