Zane being a robot is even more shocking when you remember that one time in the first season where he got frozen in a block of ice and while the others carried him back Cole made a comment about how heavy he was
Same here! I remember we were walking up the stairs (my brothers and I) and we were speculating on Zane's origins. We were going upstairs to watch the show. One of my brothers remembered a clip of Blade Runner our dad showed us (the part where Deckard tells Racheal she is a replicant and shows her pictures of her "childhood".) So my brother explained that he speculated that Zane was most likely a robot since he didn't have parents and didn't remember his childhood. I think that's a crazy theory, but then we all settle down on the couch and open the TV. Ninjago starts, and low and behold it's the exact episode where Zane is revealed to be a robot! I remember absolutely bawling my eyes out when Zane 'died' back in season 3 I think, and then being so fucking happy when Cole found him later in Chen's dungeon. One of the best shows fr
Same here, Zane is my favourite and his sacrifice was so sad to see, especially when the flashbacks kicked in. I was glad when Cole found him again too and started tearing up from happiness when he slowly peaked out from behind the door.
@@knightnigjt7703 Those weren't movies, like Basic said, those were pilots (There were 2) explaining the golden weapons, the formation of the team, and the threat of garmadon, oh and the skelis, each is 40 minutes long, I'm pretty sure there's a length requirement for them to be considered movies
"he used fang quon do!" has the same energy as that background character from ATLA live action who, as a firebender, was shocked that Zuko could produce fire.
As an 18 year old (I'm finally 18 now, my birthday was Jul. 20). This show was everything to me as a child, especially the parts where Zane finds out he's a Nindroid, Garmadon sacrificing himself to the Cursed Realm, Lloyd being possessed by Morro (my favorite season to be honest, Morro was a good villain and good plot, very emo and dramatic too) I'm very glad that I still watch this show to this day.
Two of the biggest plot twists of my childhood. Zane being a robot and Lloyd being the green ninja. Gave me goosebumps back then and it gave me goosebumps watching it again here. I love this show
I've been watching this show since it came out. We borrowed the DVDs from the library. I used to watch it with my older brother. I'm so glad it was a part of my childhood; my life was definitely sent in a different direction than it would've without this show.
In Ninjago you have everything that you need in serious movies and shows: -- Development of plot -- Sad scenes -- Epic scenes -- Twists -- Cool characters This makes Ninjago better than most of movies of our time lol
"But Sensei-" "Butts are for sitting." -Sensei Wu, 2012 Whoever wrote that line must have felt so proud and I salute them. Also, this was such a nostalgia trip. Ninjago was such a huge part of my childhood.
Hey if it weren’t for this series, my parents would have never spent a total of hundreds of dollars of Lego over the span of 4 years. This season truly was nostalgia
Absolutely I used to be 8 and a half years old when the pilot episodes came out and I was 9 when I watched season 1. Due to my age and the fact that I was a boy, I used to be the ideal target
Honestly this show, despite going on for 10 years and 14 seasons straight, it’s barely dipped in quality. Modern seasons, even with the movie designs are incredible. Seriously, if you haven’t watched this show I’d highly recommend binging it. (plus the soundtrack is legit amazing like holy shit it shouldn’t be that good)
Ninjago is my childhood and i got back to watching it and man im sad i finished all seasons. I haven’t watched the island yet because idk where to watch it:(
imagine they're still making ninjago series but you're unheard of it. That's right. They're currently on 17. season and 10th episode. They keep animating it.
I remember watching the season 2 finale when it first aired (it was the series finale in promos) , I was absolutely blown away and couldn't believe that it ended so beautifully.
Judging by how Ninjago City looked in Season 1, I bet they saved a big chunk of the animation budget for the Devourer. And that payed off, because he still looks gorgeous almost 10 years later. Also, Pythor is such a diva.
1. This entire video was nostalgia city. 2. The commentary/notes are everything lmao. 3. I'll be making a list of my favorite side notes as I watch. -"Siri." -"Oogway." -"Dora" -"Lloyd's edgy phase." -"Zane's my favorite." (Dude same) -"Lmao I forgot each 'S' lasted two whole seconds." (Again, same) -"The Bromance in this scene is beautiful lol." -"Pythor and Scales being in a failing marriage." (All parts) -"Kai tripping balls for half a minute straight." -"Oh no, however will they pass this two foot wall?" -"Vibrates aggressively." -"Hello, bruthaa." -"How social anxiety says people will react to me." -"DANGER NOODLE" -"Living in quarantine pretending the world isn't falling apart." -"Insomnia, anxious thoughts, existential dread, future commitments." -"Me @ my demonic cat." -"Braincells aligning.... Panik." -"Tickles wind chimes while drinking a smoothie." *(In hindsight, this is a lot of favorites. I like the whole video lmao.)*
when i was younger i used to watch ninjago all the time with my 2 years younger brother, it was literally my childhood. it's been years, i'm 15 now (i was just 3 when the show came out, i'm pretty sure) and i recently came back to this show!! i rewatched the seasons i already watched and watched the new ones, i just finished the last season yesterday and started tearing up. that was not only because of the ending, but also cause i suddenly rememberd how i was so young and hyped when the 6th season came out and yesterday, i was there, sitting on the couch, watching the last episode of the 16th season. i'm really glad i at least have dragons rising. maybe it's not the same but it has some og characters. this show will stay forever in my heart :D tldr; i love ninjago!!1!1!
That music that pops up when zane turns on his funny switch is somehow so incredibly nostalgic that a lotta sad feelings come up and i have no idea why.
Holy crap this is for freaking nostalgic, the Zane being a robot and Loiyd being the green ninja really hit me, the fight between Lioyd and his dad also hit me deep, I might rewatch the show.
Rewatching the Cole coming out as a ninja scene now and I am just like “damn. That’s fucking deep” I legit cried because it was so sad when his dad wouldn’t accept him. I feel you man. At least Cole’s dad accepted him.
Okay but imagine 14yro Cole: Dad, I’m gay His Dad: Of course son, love who you love :) 14yro Cole: Oh thank god, I’m so glad. I also don’t really like dancing- His Dad: YOU WHAT- (Okay but looking back on that scene, damn. I know it probably wasn’t intended to be a metaphor for coming out, but it hits hard. On rewatch a lot of what the ninja do or say are metaphors for a lot of things if you look hard enough)
one of my oldest memories is of the ninjas running from the great devourer on a boat and jay saying frantically, “objects in the mirror are closer than they appear!!”
The nostalgia... I remember being so ashamed that I was watching this show because it "wasn't for girls" I have never ever told anyone I was watching ninjago just because "girls are not allowed to watch such things". It's weird that I even had these thoughts, everyone in my family is incredibly supportive and would never say such things!
I've honestly enjoyed everything I've seen of it thus far and I'm sad that my childhood self thought it was super immature or whatever dumbass excuse I told myself
Oh man, this show was the bomb. It helped that my brother was obsessed with Legos and had many Ninjago sets as a result. We visited Legoland when I was a little older and I got a Nia keychain 😸
i also went to legoland when i was very young, like, very young (3yo), it was most of all for my brother, he went back to legoland when he was older, without me sadly, i remember being very depressed for a looong time, i had a huge cruch on kai, on my 7th birthday, i even had a kai suite on, i still have the picture, then for a long time i stopped with lego ninjago, and now i'm back in the business, i did get for my 13th birthday (3days ago) a new ninjagoset, it is awesome.
I’ve entered, left, re-entered and left this fandom many times, and even though I might not rejoin the fandom again, this show still holds a special place in my heart. Tbh it hits deeper when you’re older because then you can actually get the jokes/quotes with deeper meaning. I remember being obsessed with this show. And I still love it. I started rewatching it a few days ago and I haven’t skipped the intro once. I also remember my mom quoting Wu once or twice because she sometimes watched with us. It was a quote from somewhere in season 3 but I don’t really remember how it went because I watched the Dutch dub since I’m Dutch. And I can’t find it anywhere on Google so I might edit this comment when I do find it. God there’s no way for me to properly describe how much I loved, love and will always love this show. Edit: I found the quote! It was “If you can’t change your circumstances, change yourself.” It’s from the episode called “The Void”. Also, my older brother and I literally still quote/reference the “Zane you’re squeezing my arm” part regularly to this day.
As a guy who still watches the show today (15 seasons strong baby, and we're still going whoooo!) season has a spell place in my heart. This is where Ninjago found its identity as a show and became the Ninjago we all know and love! I mean seriously, you gotta respect some of the things season 1 did here. That episode where Zane feels misunderstood was already pretty good and emotional, but then they followed up by revealing he was a robot the entire time! What other show has such a crazy plot twist where they reveal a character has been a robot all along??!!! They even did the reveal by having him *open his chest.* That's pretty metal (literally and figuratively). And man, this show has a lot of heart, way more than most other kid shows have! That heart and fearlessness to have such wild yet good plot twists are why I keep watching the show even 10 years later! And lastly, can I just say that the show was funny? Because I'm not gonna lie to you, some of these jokes are _hilarious!_
I stopped watching at about season 6, but I agree with you. I watched it when it first aired and it was great! I'm 19, and it still holds up. Season 1 for me is my favourite, even though I haven't watched the rest of the show. I feel Zane became Flanderized (trope from Tv Tropes) in seasons after he was "revived" as the "Titanium ninja".
what do you mean other kid shows? this is even better than many western shows. Who would have thought that this could be this good, just my comparing it to other lego series, this seems to be made by gods. People would gladly see this thing even as adults.
@@miab-p6874 well tecnically season 7-today arent of the level of the originals, most of them. But the overall cuality still is great, you sould continue to see the show (altough i advise that season 10 is pretty bad, it wasnt a worthy end of arc) 11 to 15 are nice, specially 14 and 15, 12 and 13 are really good, and 11 had potential that unfortanelly wanst use as such
Jesus christ I was obsessed with this show, nostalgia overload. I remember loving the clever writing and intense climax. Everything flowed together so eloquently. Glad I'm not the only that remembers this show
"The green ninja" was the best episode of the season to me, not only for the reveal of Lloyd being the green ninja but also because of the build up and payoff of Kai's true potential, seeing him in that fireball flying out of the volcano with Lloyd was the hypest moment of my childhood.
I forgot about this show, but right when I saw this recommended to me I thought to myself, "Wasn't there some twist of someone being 'the green ninja' or something?"
This brings back memories of watching the show, putting together the legos, then going to play Zelda Twilight Princess on the Wii with my friends after. Those were simpler times :)
Damn. I completely forgot how good this show was. Yeah, there were some scenes that were cheesy and dumb, and had some pretty stupid humor. However, there were times where it got really emotional. It makes the characters down to Earth, and reminds you that they're human. Well, "human". Zane is an exception, but he's human enough.
As a kid I always thought the little pilot series was season one and this was season two, I remember getting so hype watching the trailer where Lloyd opened the serpentine tomb on the CN website as a kid. Oh the nostalgia
Even as a 16 year old, I still like this series. Mostly because when I was a kid, I loved the first season and the idea of mixing Lego with Ninjas. To me, it's still pretty cool.
Dude I agree. This show was just so blissfully chaotic and entertaining now that i looked back at it. No wonder I was so obsessed with it when I was a kid. For years I forgot this show even existed anymore though because I only thought there was 2 seasons and I'd rewatch the same episodes over and over. Overall great stuff. Still holds up to this day.
The fact that I realized I’m an adult now watching this just made me sad. I remember this show coming out when I was in elementary. I remember the great Devourer, Lloyd being the green ninja, and Zane being a robot blowing my mind.
Bro the nostalgia on this is unreal. So back when I was 7, i sometimes slept in my parents bedroom and I would sometimes go in the middle of the night and while I was rounding the corner (there was a corner on the edge of the kitchen and the dining room leading to my parents bedroom) I imagined that the great devourer about as thick as our 8ft tall roof, was chasing me, and me and my parents now talk about how I was running to their bedroom at like 1:00 am screaming at the top of my lungs. So yeah I remember this show and still love it
I remember this show. I used to watch it as a kid. I almost forgot it too until I was babysitting my nephew. They were watching it and I remember sitting down and watching 2 seasons with my nephew.
I remember my grandma wouldn’t let me watch the final of the season 2 because it was „too scary for me” so i watched it from behind the sofa with my bro and it’s a core memory now
Was this just an excuse to edit Ninjago episodes? Maybe
I suddenly remembered about this and remembered that it was literally my entire childhood, so I went back to check and make sure it wasn’t just a fever dream and here it is :)

And I can’t find it anywhere on Google so I might edit this comment when I do find it. God there’s no way for me to properly describe how much I loved, love and will always love this show.
