I cant describe why it amuses me so much, but Matthew reading into every detail of the animation style as if all of it had to have an in-world explanation is just hilarious. Like, in terms of lego shows/movies, this one is almost completely only lego in look (there's some jokes about their hands n stuff but for the most part, they are just people in this world. And the animation is simply styled like lego)
I'm sorry, but I love the fact that Matt finds out about the magical elemental powers (which are basically the core of Ninjago's identity) only after he had gone through more than a half of the video. Also, really enjoy the analytical takes as always, even if they completely miss the mark, it's still a curious food for thought. As a huge fan of this show, I beg for more Ninjago out of context reactions!
DUDE you need to watch the show. All your questions would be answered. Its a very wholesome show filled with emotions and can legit make you cry. Just so you know everyone appeared as mean cuz it was just out of context but in reality they're really awesome. It has 16 seasons. Its legos most famous show. It has been going for more than 10 years now. You're gonna love it.

Ok for your information: kai is the red ninja with anime hair, zane is the white one who is a nindriod with the flat top, Lloyd is the green ninja with green eyes, jay is the blue one with curly hair, cole is the black one, and nya is the other blue one with black hair and is kais sister.
MORE INFORMATION ABOUT ELEMENTAL POWERS!: all the main cast in this show have elemental powers, kai has fire, cole has earth, zane the nindroid has ice, jay has lightning, nya has water, and finally Lloyd has green. They can all do something called spinjitzu, and they can control their elemental power (if im correct).

Characters in Ninjago are not treated like Lego chatacters, but rather as humans, with the one with the white outfit or titanium body being a pure android (or nindroid). They can die or face injuries. As for the Ninja picking on each other or taking jabs at each other (some that sometimes goes a little too far sometimes lol), it's very common and adds to the show's humor, but the Ninja of course care about each other like true family. :)

I will say, the creators treat their anatomy the same as people! There’s no blood or anything, cause kids show, but Lloyd breaks his foot at one point! The Lego movies are different, they have a very meta feel, the show though treats them as people! Zane is a robot he’s the exception :)

This was hilarious!!! ninjago is definitely one of my favorite shows and I find this so funny since I know the context to all of these, to answer a few vague questions:
Yes! They can get hurt, they just have a lot of plot armor, and the person you saw being slammed against the door to get it open was the android. There have been a few cases where they have actually died
Yes, there is an afterlife where you are brought to 'the departed realm' the ghost that you saw was part of the cursed realm, and him, along with a ton of other ghosts, invaded Ninjago.
They are all idiots, and so they constantly call each other out on their stupidity. However, there are times where they do all get along.
Also, yes! They do all have powers!
I really hope that maybe you would watch another compilation, maybe one with more of the emotional scenes in ninjago, because this show can be surprisingly heartfelt! Either way, I loved this!

Yeah, I dint really see much people talk about this, the characters are the only thing lego about the show, everything else follows normal logic
It's easier to think of them as normal people in a Lego art style. The characters do drink and eat and grow like normal people, but the show is in art style of Lego.
The reason why the white-haired one Zane is fine with being used as a battering ram is because he's quite literally made of metal, for a period of time he's known as the Titanium Ninja because he had a more robotic appearance than human. Zane has always been an android but due to memory loss, he learnt about what he was through the first season.
I now need to see a full Ninjago reaction! This was golden- I completely forgot how nuts the show is 😂

13:55 Surprisingly, characters DO get impaled in this show. Granted, it only happens when players are losing a life in a video game world, but it does happen. It really caught me off guard the first time it happened too.
They can get hurt for sure! They can die too, though no one would want that to happen 😆

Though they do share the ability to turn others into snake people with a bite, happened to Jay (blue one) a loooong time ago, I haven’t watched this show in ages! Still look back on it fondly :3

Watched this religiously as a young girl and boy did it pay off! Babysitting some youths and being able to match their knowledge of Ninjago.
This show was wild but just another medium for a fun cartoon and surprisingly good story. Definitely worth a watch if you can handle the Lego aesthetic
Kai and jay are a pretty weird pair, but i can see if working out XD. Also you should definitely watch the show cause the show is amazing.

As someone who's been a dedicated fan of this show for literally 10 years (I am unwell), this is the most entertaining thing I've seen in so long. I literally cannot remember a time where I didn't have context to Ninjago so seeing someone so absolutely flabbergasted by something that's common knowledge to me was an experience I didn't know I needed

As someone who's watched all 16 seasons, zane, the robot, has died like once per season starting at season 3, nya, the lady in blue, has died twice, if you count the djinn blade in season 6 everyone has died once, cole, the one in black, has died once, if you count the deaths in season 13 then once again everyone other than jay has died once, Garmadon has died like three times, and sensei wu almost died twice,
Also they abandoned zane's little brother echo to die a slow rusty death at the age of 5 in season 6 if we count most seasons as a year, and yes I'm still pissed the show forgot echo

The scene that you thought someone's hand was ripped off was actually the handle of a climbing tool breaking. And basically, these characters are indestructible. Except zane (he actually dies). And The Bounty (but that is a ship, it doesn't count).
I'd love to see an out of context video for each season of the show. Yeah, it would be a good few videos, but it seems like a nice way to get some more context while simultaneously not having any at all lmao
9:20 Zane (titanium ninja/white ninja/nindroid) in the first season seemed like a "normal" teen training to be a ninja like the others, although he acted weird. Later the ninja figure out that Zane is actually a robot.
Also the ninja are like a group of siblings so the name calling and other stuff is just them teasing

All the quote unquote ‘meanness’ in these clips are harmless jabs between friends who are practically brothers (and sister). So, no, it’s not bullying and some of these quips are actually funny. This was only a bite size compared to the whole show.

I was laughing so much during this because I knew all the context and it just made it funnier. but you should totally do more. also the teacher who threw the guy against the pole his is father who was evil before hand multiple times. the lore is crazy in this show i swear-
I think Matthew should react to the Ninjago movie out of context😂. The movie has some WILD moments.

But jokes aside, Ninjago is such an amazing show! For some reason it usually doesn’t get too boring unlike many other shows because it’s not just “omg there is a new villain, let’s safe the city”. Ninjago puts a great focus on lore and concept. Every character gets acknowledged(even if for example, Lloyd more than Cole cuz main character) they at least don’t get completely neglected. Ninjago is also not afraid to put in many psychological aspects that you can even relate too. The show also definitely “grew up” with you. As an OG fan (one year after the pilot episodes were released) you can tell that the characters, everything grew up. Newer seasons feel more mature, they’re not keeping their characters at for example 16yo like in many anime.
I just gotta say, Ninjago is amazing and while it’s peak will probably always be season 1-5 (maybe even seaon 6-7 & 8-10), it still doesn’t disappoint as much as others shows did.
