I hate always focusing on the games 5 years and out. But it’s good seeing that the rpg space unlike the mmo one has some good things in the works. Regardless if they turn out that way (BGS looking at you) or if I am around to play them. In the rn space, I would say it’s the time of the smaller companies who have been providing good games. While getting to see big company flop after flop.
If the last ten years have taught us anything, it's that your take of "est 2025" actually meaning "sometime in the next five years, probably" is both super healthy and realistic.
Expedition 33 looks like it could be pretty interesting! Definitely reminds me of Legend of Dragoon with the turn based battles and quicktime events mixed in.
I sadly never played Legend of Dragoon. There was a point I pivoted away from JRPGs to MMOs because I didn't have time for both but there are two I will always remember: Legend of Legaia and of course ff10.
Looking forward to more deep story rpgs. Stories who bring the tears are my favorites. I grew up on british humor- I clearly remember watching Monty Python's holy grail at a party and noticing I was the only girl left in a riom full of guys. I fell in love with british humor so if fable can bring that to the game I'm there. Thank you so much for your content. If you wanted to get a taste of Elder Scrolls I invite you to try eso. Congrats o your 100th video. Keep them coming.❤
Hey man, I’m always happy to support someone who is following their dream. Even better when that person chooses an interesting dream to follow as you have. Good luck and keep pushing!
Man it's so going to be so weird playing as (legally distinct) Robert Patterson in Expy 33 and then taking order from (probably legally distinct) Dave Bautista in Exodus next year.
Claire is definitely up high on my list. Exodus is interesting but idk, I love mass effect but the premise of leaving a planet will have time progress to point characters have meet are probably dead when you return & the involvement of mcconaughey makes it a let's see for me. Been following wayward realms for while now but as you pointed out lots of unknowns there. Fable was one of my fav series as a teen but this one hasn't really captured me yet, know one thing if it's a set protagonist I won't be playing it anytime soon. W4 without question will be bought at launch but do have some concerns what they plan to do with witcher
I’m looking forward to Exodus….Because the world looks fantastic. Not because of the actor whose name I have failed to spell correctly multiple times. And Avowed. That will probably be my game next year. I really like Obsidian’s games.
The other day there was an article about how the Witcher 4 went in full production. I think The Elder Scrolls 6 will be out before the Witcher 4. TES6 has been in full production for more than a year. The development started well before Starfield was released. Around a year before when focus for Starfield went to bug squashing.
Entirely possible. A while back I made some theories about a release order with games pre starfield and it basically went dragon age 4, fable 4, es6. But with es6 when it might be was a total mystery to me because we still know so little about it and it was teases way before it ever should have been. Or maybe that tease was the right thing to do? 6 years on were still talking about it!
I was always sad when fable was an Xbox exclusive because I didn't get to play it as much as I liked. Had to borrow a friend's Xbox. So far it looks like fable will be pc and Xbox.
Fable: Not every person in an RPG needs to be beautiful, but for a main character that you're going to be forced to spend the entire length of the game with...dang. Oof. Looks like someone knocked her out of the Ugly Tree with a rock and she hit every branch on the way down. Witcher: Never played a CDPR game so have no idea, and not invested into the mythos in any way, shape, or form. Seen a lot of information about them falling to the mind virus; I hope they do it justice, unlike the Netflix series. The one with a "player-driven story"? Is it online, or single person? Kinda confused about that, but if it's online (aka, "live service"), I'm avoiding it like the plague. I miss buying a game and owning it forever, as opposed to just renting it until they shut the servers down.
We have no idea who the protagonist is in Fable, but if its her imo she looks better than humphrey! But Fable is mostly about player choices and dark humor in the past. I think it looks great and I'm just excited to be getting a new one because I thought the series was done and dusted with Lionhead. Plus, I never really got to play it as much as I liked as a kid because it was an Xbox exclusive so I had to play on friends consoles. As for the Wayward Realms, it's not live servce at all as far as I know. I actually did a deep dive here on the channel but the tldr; its an old school RPG like Elder Scrolls Daggerfall but with no main story, just tons of branching narrative sidequests that are altered by what you do. So if you save a town, maybe there are quests, if you don't save a town, maybe there are *different* quests. At least I think that's the shortest way to sum up the premise.
You know ... never heard of your channel before but somehow it popped into my timeline and I thought what the hell. I'd like to know what's coming up in 2025. Yeah no, this iteration of Fable? No chance in hell I'm playing a game with a character like Sir Ma'am in it. No thanks. The other titles I am a bit more wary of considering how dirty they did the Witcher TV series. I don't trust Bioware with Mass Effect anymore after Andromeda and the 'creative' choices they decided to implement to the ME Anniversary Edition. Seems like I'm going to be stuck with Black Myth Wukong, Medieval Dynasty, and Factorio 2.0 for all of 2025. But hey at least Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a new DLC. So maybe there is a glimmer of hope for 2025 yet.
JustFYI Playground Games are the devs of Forza Horeizon, not Forza which are Turn 10.
Pinned, ty
I'm feeling invested in this expedition 33 game
It looks so good, doesnt it? I Can't wait.
12:30 as a guy who often ignores the main quest on subsequent playthroughs, this sounds great to me!
I often find some side quests in RPGs more engaging and interesting so I'm there with ya!

Omfg…..Expedition 33 made me feel things i haven’t felt in a very long time!!!!!!!!!
Kcd2 is the only one that looks like it will really keep my attention, personally.
Yeah kcd2 is on my 2024 list.
Expedition 33 looks like something I'd love... as long as those QTEs can be disabled. I have such a burning hatred for the overuse of QTEs.
It's not QTEs in the sense we're used to. They're active battle elements. In the vein of Legend of Dragoon or Lost Odyssey. So idk if you can.
Redbeard is slayin it

Witcher 4 is my number 2. Number 1 is the next Cyberpunk (Project Orion)
This list starting off with Expedition 33 👀 I’m already excited
It looks so good!!
If there was one game I thought about when buying my PC, it was Fable. But now there's a real possibility it might not be Xbox and PC exclusive.
I was always sad when fable was an Xbox exclusive because I didn't get to play it as much as I liked. Had to borrow a friend's Xbox.
So far it looks like fable will be pc and Xbox.
Humphrey sounds a lot like Matt King (Super Hans from Peep Show).
Exodus could give rise to a trilogy depending on how successful sales of the first game does.
It'll also be in the upcoming secret level cinematic Netflix show
