My dislike of the game stems from the writing, the main pc should be the hero, the npcs are supporting cast. The romances especially are cringeworthy, and I disagree with you, the narratives are really badly written. There is also little social reality behind some choices for example, you can hang out with a vampire, evil priestess, a githyanki, half demon, etc, etc. There should be some serious npc distrust shown to a group of shady bar-stewards like that for you to overcome. So suspension of disbelief (yeah I know its a fantasy game) is problematic, it feels like I'm living in a teenagers fantasy world where cool/uncool are more important than good/evil tropes. Yeah I get you want inclusion, but I personally don't know any vampires, tieflings, etc, so who are we including here?

My hot takes: 1. Edwin Odesseiron should've been in BG3. 2. Serevok's development sucks and inconsistent with all of his epilogues in BG2. 3. Bringing back the Bhaalspawns and Amelyssan as puppets behind Serevok is nonsensical, shameless pandering that isn't even fullfilling like BG1-2 companions coming back, and sucks. They should've stayed dead. 4. A twisted rune plotline would've been better than Serevok and the 3 female bhaalspawn/bhaal power holding eyecandies. 5. Orin could've had a different evil bhaalspawn as an ancestor to not ruin Serevok. Like Bhaal resurrecting Viekang instead or him surviving his battle with Abdel Adrian due to trickery and slipping away. Thus also giving Jaheira more personal reason to get involved because Viekang killed her second husband, the PC in BG1-2.

I've started honor runs, but always "lost" them from boredom, not TPK. Not being stuck with unintended and unwanted outcomes is what makes gaming superior to real life. Sure, act 3 has a lot to do, but much of it isn't worth doing. Scratch isn't worth traveling with randomly, just summon him for specific purposes and dismiss him immediately after.

I dont understand why everyone has such low standards for bioware games these days. They take the slop that EA feeds them and they are happy about it. All these "non-gamers" in the comments talking about dumbing down the combat just want the game to be a walking sim or a telltale style experience... Do these people even like Dragon Age or do they want it to be something else completely? I understand DAO's combat is a bit jank, but a modernized CRPG style system would be amazing. Just looks at what BG3 did! I love all turn based RPGs so It was nothing new for me, but so many people who would never have touched the genre before, enjoyed it immensely. Youre gonna be fighting and killing shit for over half of the game anyways, may as well make it fun and engaging!

Do I think save scumming ruins the game? Yes, completely... so I don't do it... What do I care if others do it? That's my take on it, just like speed running is dumb... so I don't do it.. Can others enjoy doing or watching it? Please do!

This is exactly why I absolutely love this game, it gets you so super invested. I put it down for a while, but with Patch 7 out I am almost finished with yet another run and already planning another Origin run for the evil ending. The overall story may have a linear path, but the journey is completely up to you and I have found 1 or 2 new things on this run and I already had 2000 hours played.

Here's an interesting alternate to save scumming. Use the party size limit mod and raise the limit to 5. Leave the extra member in camp so your game isn't wiped by TPK in the field.

I only go Half Illithid if 1. I'm a dragonborn (which is nearly all the time because they are my fav race and they look cool with the veins) 2.Fly is really good if you don't have Misty step 3. Black hole (pull all enemy's into the middle and get your friend to cast a level 5 fire ball on them all Big damage also its cool) still though the illithid powers i don't use too much because i feel like the gear you get and the stuff from classes like spells are better the only good illithid powers id say are Luck of the far realms, Favourable beginnings, Fly and black hole(if you have something to follow it up with like if you have gale with an AOE spell but still it slowing down the enemy is really useful)

Expedition 33 looks like it could be pretty interesting! Definitely reminds me of Legend of Dragoon with the turn based battles and quicktime events mixed in.

Exodus could give rise to a trilogy depending on how successful sales of the first game does.

Larian has used the dnd model for their games for years, like the Divinity series, therefore they were the best studio for the game. The next one is either going to be even better then 3 or a dumpster fire....

You know ... never heard of your channel before but somehow it popped into my timeline and I thought what the hell. I'd like to know what's coming up in 2025. Yeah no, this iteration of Fable? No chance in hell I'm playing a game with a character like Sir Ma'am in it. No thanks. The other titles I am a bit more wary of considering how dirty they did the Witcher TV series. I don't trust Bioware with Mass Effect anymore after Andromeda and the 'creative' choices they decided to implement to the ME Anniversary Edition. Seems like I'm going to be stuck with Black Myth Wukong, Medieval Dynasty, and Factorio 2.0 for all of 2025. But hey at least Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a new DLC. So maybe there is a glimmer of hope for 2025 yet.

I’m looking forward to Exodus….Because the world looks fantastic. Not because of the actor whose name I have failed to spell correctly multiple times. And Avowed. That will probably be my game next year. I really like Obsidian’s games.

The other day there was an article about how the Witcher 4 went in full production. I think The Elder Scrolls 6 will be out before the Witcher 4. TES6 has been in full production for more than a year. The development started well before Starfield was released. Around a year before when focus for Starfield went to bug squashing.

Claire is definitely up high on my list. Exodus is interesting but idk, I love mass effect but the premise of leaving a planet will have time progress to point characters have meet are probably dead when you return & the involvement of mcconaughey makes it a let's see for me. Been following wayward realms for while now but as you pointed out lots of unknowns there. Fable was one of my fav series as a teen but this one hasn't really captured me yet, know one thing if it's a set protagonist I won't be playing it anytime soon. W4 without question will be bought at launch but do have some concerns what they plan to do with witcher

I grew up on british humor- I clearly remember watching Monty Python's holy grail at a party and noticing I was the only girl left in a riom full of guys. Fable: Not every person in an RPG needs to be beautiful, but for a main character that you're going to be forced to spend the entire length of the game with...dang. Oof. Looks like someone knocked her out of the Ugly Tree with a rock and she hit every branch on the way down. Witcher: Never played a CDPR game so have no idea, and not invested into the mythos in any way, shape, or form. Seen a lot of information about them falling to the mind virus; I hope they do it justice, unlike the Netflix series. The one with a "player-driven story"? Is it online, or single person? Kinda confused about that, but if it's online (aka, "live service"), I'm avoiding it like the plague. I miss buying a game and owning it forever, as opposed to just renting it until they shut the servers down.

I hate always focusing on the games 5 years and out. But it’s good seeing that the rpg space unlike the mmo one has some good things in the works. Regardless if they turn out that way (BGS looking at you) or if I am around to play them. In the rn space, I would say it’s the time of the smaller companies who have been providing good games. While getting to see big company flop after flop.
