"It's always the follow up." Exactly. An ending like this has to be the entire focus next week. This was a debut similar to Nexus. So it'd better be treated with the same level of seriousness.
I remember Cornette ranting about that "four Doinks" Survivor Series team being more over than the Rock n' Roll Express and how much he loathed WWF fans at the time. Some people were legit worried about Warrior being cursed by Papa Shango. People truly went nuts for Hogan beating up an actor playing a character from a movie he starred, somehow believing that Tiny Lister, actor credited with the character of Zeus, was not a character but a real life monster. There were people who loved and went nuts for the 'Taker going to heaven after half the heel locker room beat him up and locked him in a casket. WWF fans have always been into these things.
@@jaysgamingcorner8539 Context, context, context. "Mean" Mark Callous was not a big name in JCP/WCW and WWF fans at the time largely didn't read Apter mags or followed JCP closely enough to know who he was. Unlike Rowan or Cross or for that matter Dexter Lumis. Plus, no internet to tell you who these people were before and no Apter tying himself in a knot to explain how former lesser Skyscraper/midcarder Mark Callous became a zombie undertaker capable of taking insane amounts of punishment (too far back, so anyone remember how Apter explained it?). Second, this was relatively brand new and the WWF kind of kept it simple for the initial heel run. If fans could accept Zeus, they could accept 'Taker. It's his first face run that got wacky and weird but by then the guy was so over and the WWF so cartoony that fans would buy into a lot of dumb stuff. Plus, they kept him somewhat apart from other stuff happening. No "let's go pretend murder people" or anything like that. This ain't the Codyverse - they were introduced as having agency over EVERYONE right off the bat. If an ECW fans didn't like hardcore, they still had RVD doing his rolls and flips or the light heavy/cruiser weight guys. Or they could sing along with a chant. Or just enjoy the popular music blaring through the PA. Critics of Taker's rise to heaven still had tons of non-fantasy/supernatural stuff to enjoy and could avoid Taker like I avoided Hogan matches in the late 80's onward. Mind you, the attitude era brought its own share of reality defying stunts including Austin repeatedly breaking the law in full view of a camera crew conveniently following him and yet never seeing jail time. But that just proves that WWF fans (and probably wrestling fans in general) have always been apt to swallow stupid stuff if they thought it was fun.
@@horgh_japancall it stupid or call it great Taker is one of the most legendary wrestlers of the last 30 years and his gimmick was a zombie with magic powers. I find it odd that now people want WWE to be so real, like we should just pretend all that stuff didn't happen because everyone is a "smart fan" now that allowed the Internet to destroy their suspension of disbelief. I watched Wrestlemania and heard the crazy pop when he magically teleported behind The Rock and choke slammed him; no one seemed too bothered by the unreal thing that just happened
@@jaysgamingcorner8539 I assume you're too young to have seen 'Taker during his initial heel run following his introduction as part of DiBIase's team at the Survivor's Series. Until his face turn, 'Taker had been rather subdued. Yes, he seemed impervious to pain but then we had Zeus doing that before him. At least 'Taker WRESTLED and bumped as opposed to just doing rest holds and pretending to snap people's necks. Liked Diesel, looking badass made him cool and popular enough to warrant a face turn. Then things got weird. Imagine if Taker had arrived doing his post face turn schtick with the magic zombie stuff. Magic urn shooting beams of light, "going to heaven" and all that. Would he have become as popular? Imagine if the Ultimate Warrior came in and his first feud involved Papa Shango and voodoo curses instead of his running over HTM in record time. Would he have made the same impact?

I hope this is just a special attire moment. I would prefer them wrestle without the masks. I hope their motive is that their respect for Bray brought them together to carry his legacy. Bo can go after the men who each member feuded with or has history with Jey, Balor (Judgement Day), DIY, LA Knight, Orton, Reigns, Rollins,
With Vince not around, I have the feeling they can make it right. It's ok to do some "occult" stuff, but this time they should not go all they way through it like they did with Bray, especially when it comes to the ring. Make it more of a cultish thing, keep the magic stuff on the low, make it more about a bunch of lost souls following a leader, acting in the darkness. Make it "feel" like there's something unnatural going on but don't flat out show it. Make it plausible at all time that these guys just act in the shadows and have people on the inside helping them, backstage crew, cameramen, production crew. And when it comes to the ring, make it about the numbers game. Don't have people "hypnotized" other people, don't have magical dolls. Just have the guy on the outside hit somebody with the mallet to help whoever is wrestling, or people spitting mist and that kind of stuff. Spooky, creepy, not magical. Like the original Wyatt Family was.
I LOVE this. If they keep this approach, I think you’ll have a winning formula. The Wyatt Sicks need to have that cult, horror vibe that is unnerving and creepy. Not campy and hokey…which is what happened a lot of times with Bray under Vince
I’m puzzled why they would feel bad for Jey Uso. He’s lucky to get any kind of reaction/push after that atrocious Mania match that should’ve killed his career.
Seeing how both Gable and Strowman were executed by Uncle Howdy's animal dress-up gang, does that mean Big Bronson Reed gets a free pass into the MITB Ladder Match due to forfeit? Or is Pierce finding two replacement opponents for him to face on next Monday's RAW?
“I like the segment but I expect the follow up to suck” is a weird way to say “this was a really good Raw.” It’s the Trips era. At least give the follow up a chance to suck, first. Right now just be glad new people are over. Let’s see where it goes. Bo Dallas and anyone else even tangentially attached to Bray Wyatt has fan sympathy that ought to be capitalized on right now. Kerry Von Erich won the NWA World Title when he did for a reason. So did Rey Mysterio with the World Title. Tony Khan dropped the bag with Mark Briscoe by not throwing that steak on the grill while it was hot and waiting until the gas was turned off to try to cook it. Give Papa Trips a shot. He’s done alright so far.
Alexa will be the sixth. For now they consider Bray's spirit in the lantern as the 6th member. But I don't get it why they are calling it the Wyatt Sicks and not Wyatt 6
I think they will tone down the supernatural aspect a bit. The best way in my opinion is to say these people let the fiend into their lives and uncle howdy unleashed them into the WWE. They should all have a unique “supernatural” ability where they dont sell the move or have a cheating gimmick like munta’s mist. Rowan can imitate a hulk up ability. Nikki, can get up and crawl towards her opponent immediately after hard knock down. Joe Gacy, can do something with gas/smoke. Maybe something like scare crow in the movie batman begins. Dexture can go on psychotic rampages that gets him DQ’ed. Basically keep the creep/“supernatural” stuff believable in the ring. On the outside, make things even more creepy, but make it believable based on their individual personalities. Make this group seem like the movie Purge and we might have something here. No ghost/lightning bolts, just a psychotic cult that is on a rampage.
The only thing I agree with is that it will fail if they are presented as supermen. They need to take a page from The Undertaker. Can show resilience at times but you gotta sell in order to have matches.
@anonymousnobody326 And the way they will book themselves like that again is by having these guys not selling. Thank you for bringing evidence to my point.
I get having be a bit hesitant on the Wyatt Sicks. All previous Wyatt storylines/character work started out great and then ended on a dud out of nowhere. A common denominator in that was Vince. History shows that if Vince doesnt like or more importantly, doesnt understand it. He changes his mind and does what he does. We all know that if AEW did this exact same thing Dave would be saying singing a different tune 'this was the great and everyone in the group is going to have great matches.'
The big difference is that Bo is and has always been a better wrestler than Brey. This is going to work, because Bo will deliver in the ring. Folks have forgotten how good BO is.
Just how good was Bo really before this? He ended up being part of Miz's entourage with Curtis Axel because there was nothing else that could be done to justify giving the 2 of them TV time.
Here's what I don't understand: how is this any different than Undertaker? Remember him? The zombie that threw lightning from his hands. Anyone remember his evil half brother Kane? That guy could control fire, but this is too outlandish?
@@mielyt125 Undertaker is probably one of the most over, legendary wrestlers in the last 30 years. Kane did pretty well too, this Howdy idea might get over big.
I grew up always likeing the supernatural stuff since the Undertaker was and is my favorite wrestler of all time so I loved the segment. But I am also now a fan that greatly appreciates great in ring work rate. So while the segment was great, I hope the in ring pays off because while I love gimmicks and story it is the in ring work that is going to make me invest in seeing them more so hopefully they are Wrestlers or put on smoke and mirrors to make matches good.

social media has made it virtually impossible to successfully execute a supernatural storyline in wrestling
It didn’t help that it just looked phony af.🙈

I thought it was terrible. Cool seeing the stable, but stupid how everyone was laid out. Plus, they actually had blood splatter on the wall... C'mon at least make it some what realistic. Feels like something out of cheesey 90's WWE.
My question is what’s next ? 🤷♂️
@@michaelvandoran1377I don't know, what could there be? They just laid everyone out, and killed them.
"It's always the follow up."
Exactly. An ending like this has to be the entire focus next week. This was a debut similar to Nexus. So it'd better be treated with the same level of seriousness.
The fans on Twitter and in the arena going nuts for the Wyatt family is a sign that wrestling has passed me by.
It worked for Undertaker
The ending was fine and everything but I have to agree with Dave and Bryan - most of the Wyatt stuff sucked and I’m afraid this will be similar.
dave sounded crazy when he was talking about hunter being in the bathroom WHAT
Of course these 2 have low expectations. Had this happened in AEW they would’ve said it was brilliant and gave it a 7/5 star rating. Sorry this isn’t House of Black.

Fantastic debut, nailed it!
You guys are the absolute best at analyzing. Everything and totally agree. So the debut no doubt was one of the best of all time but when it comes down to it this is wrestling not a horror movie. And the follow up is everything and seeing it then performing in the ring. Is half of it and hopefully they will succeed

Bryan and dave hated bray wyatt, they hated everything he did, made fun of him all the time so I expect the same.
I totally agree brother.
I didn’t see Strowman. Where was he ?
The funny part is that Bronson asked the same question on Twitter. 😂
Maybe they’ll show up in a neck brace like uncle Tony
“I like the segment but I expect the follow up to suck” is a weird way to say “this was a really good Raw.”
It’s the Trips era.
They killed 2 people, others dead/hurt...who knows.
Gable-dead, that poor guy by the door dead too (blood brain splatter on wall)
Who did I miss? Because I only counted 5 :-\
I was saying the same thing lol I guess Bray counts as 1 of them? Either that or there's only 5 and they are spelling it Wyatt Sicks
Alexa will be the 6th when she returns
Alexa will be the sixth. For now they consider Bray's spirit in the lantern as the 6th member. But I don't get it why they are calling it the Wyatt Sicks and not Wyatt 6
I assume Bray is the 6th and the lantern represents him
The Wyatt 6 is pure wrestlecrap. Reminds me of Retribution. It’s crap
Did you watch Undertaker and Kane? How is this different or worse?
Oh go and watch that pretend tough guy Moxley if you want wrestle crap.
Their debut was way better than Retribution. Give this time to see where it goes
They are going to go after Braun Strowman.
Or LWO.
RAW WAS AMAZING!
“Maybe he was in the bathroom” 😂
With Liv and Dominick.
@anonymousnobody326 They can be dominant. In ring work requires selling.
So much negativity about the Wyatt Sicks.
But the Learning Tree is "great. TV."
You guys are being too negative this could actually be something really cool just wait and watch

In less than a year, we're gonna talk about how this New Wyatt faction was a bad idea

I’m very sure Bo Dallas, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy, Rowan and Nikki can 100% wrestle….
The Drew Quit Angle is just the MJF angle again. WWE should take Drew off of the roster page to make it look more real. The Wyatts, in story, murdered a bunch of the staff, plus Chad Gable and Braun Strowman. Chad was unconscious with a bleeding headwound, and the staff that would normally attend to him were also unconscious (and one guy was lifeless next to his splattered blood that came out the back of his head). HOW DOES CHAD GABLE RETURN NEXT WEEK COMPLETELY FINE?
Wait till Drew beats the fuck out of Punk on this week's Friday Night SmackDown. 😂
