Apex Isn't what it used to be. Its not fun anymore

- I included actual raw uncut gameplay of what I see as an apex player every day I log into the damn game. Apex just isn't as fun as it used to be. I used to enjoy playing in both PUBS and Ranked. Now its a nightmare to play in any mode. SBMM doesn't exist, Ranked has been fucked up since season 13, we haven't gotten new maps in a long ass time, no actual content for the players to enjoy, and they keep nerfing stuff that doesn't need to be nerfed (Thanks to the pro players that complain). So yeah, Apex is a horrible state yet still has millions of players actively playing.

Whenever I play Apex I prepare myself for torture. On average I end up leaving about 98.99% of my matches due to either being dismantled by sweats or being matched with incompetent teammates.
sounds about right. 3K hours in this game & thats a good summation of how it plays. it just keeps getting worse. tbh I enjoy Zero Build Fortnite much better. they have permanent solos & you can actually hit what you're aiming at because the hit detection isn't trash & the sound is good. so you never die from no footstep glitch like apex. I've tried 100 sensitivity settings & it never feels right. I've made one small adjustment to ADS controls in Fortnite & all of a sudden i'm a laser beam. Fortnite > Apex... & this is coming from a veteran Titanfall player.
They have these moments where the devs show promise (introducing the Weapon Mastery, creating Mixtape, 3 Strikes) and then they counter that by making super weird decisions.
-A month and a half of Halloween? -Another Halloween event for Xmas?
-No 120 fps for console?
-The Ranked changes? And this one probably hurts the game the most because having ranked in disarray actually makes pubs obnoxiously sweaty.

Where’s train mode? Make 3 Strikes permanent. Stop adding legends. Add more guns, put some in the vault. Add more maps. Add more LTMs to mixtape. Stop having so many collection events. Rework useless legends. 🤷♂️

@wilbatyt I think removing sbmm from pubs would be alot healthier for the game. Put all players in the same pool when loading into a pub. It's insane to have an sbmm for ranked and pubs. In my opinon

They should make more changes to the legends like nerfing and buffing them like they did in the earlier seasons, because it was fun when every month the meta changed.
I lost all of my data in Season 7/8, which never played again. Tried it a couple of seasons ago. it just wasn't fun anymore.
The enemy players are just better on average now and the massive amount of low skill casual players from the early days are gone. You have to sweat pretty much everything out to get by and you should expect to die a lot. The days of killing entire squads effortlessly without even getting your shields broken are gone.
I play every other day or every couple of days and I know what to expect. I'm not a bad player and I can do some cool stuff sometimes but mostly I get beat up and that's just the way it is. The best thing anybody can do is avoid playing super late at night and try to get on when lots of people are out of school/work. Also ranked isn't too bad if you don't take it seriously and just play for kills.
You’re 100% right about the Low skill casual players being gone, and now we have a new skillful generation of players that took over and these players play like their lives depend on it. I’ve been matched with new players that can out Smurf a Smurf.
Hah, say that to my teammates. And I'm not even saying this out of ego, I'm a bit above average myself, so i win like 70% of my 1v1s, but it gets kinda frustrating when the teammates are at the other side of the map, still looting / crafting, wasting precious time

Maybe if they had more than 2 playable modes at any time it would be funner
its because games designed for competitive gaming eventually will weed out the average players without TTV in their name and its no longer fun
I quit apex in season 12, and picked back up again very briefly in season 14. I havent played it since, nor do i plan to. It was at one point my favorite game, i played it every day. But now, its just not fun. Ibstarted playing in season 9, and played it nonstop in seasons 10-11. But i quit after that, becssue it got so repetitive, and so cashgrabby that it wasnt even a game anymore. It was a vessel for ea to make money, with some gameplay as a bonus. Im done. I dont think ill ever play it again.
I agree 100% with you. Thank you for saying it !!! Sick of promotional video's on here saying Apex is great BUT you have nailed the truth. It is NOT good to play. Unless your in a 3 stack with superstars your screwed. Solo que is now harder than ever and even if your good enough to find a way the EOMM will make sure your paired with idiots to raise the difficulty through the roof. Try 10, 3 v 1's in a row where you have a blue and they are a communicating team all wearing purple. If you win 5 or more then feel free to play Apex. If you can't win more than half of 3 v 1's don't play the game. If you insist on playing, my best advice is warm up in range for 10-15 minz play ONE GAME, the first game you will get 2 good teamates and a good game. Now quit, once you have one good game that's it !!! The EOMM will then place you in 5-8 impossible games where you are paired with deff, dumb and stupid nob heads who can't spell their own name. Save your sanity, you have to play the system.

I watch Preds on my team get dismantled in seconds by level 50 players… I’m close to making a series dedicated to high ranking players getting clapped by nobodies.

I feel like this is just nostalgia for playing early apex and doesn't account for how the game has evolved
the game has barely evolved thats the thing, we're basically playing the same game we were 4 years ago
@@brycey.Yeah when you compare to even a game like minecraft and see how that’s changed since it’s og days, same with fortnite. Arguably a reason why those games do so well (fortnite doing less well now tho imo)

Some players want it to be both emotionally, engaging and fun. Not everyone who plays apex are tryna make a name for themselves.
just got perma banned for harmful comment, well how can you not be frustated when your teammate in rank was ratting there was a 6man pred running around the lobbies and also a speedhacking and has aimbot while using rampart. playing in console btw lol
if you think seasons 3-9 were fun, you should've been there from season 0-3 it was even more fun than 3-9 because the SBMM wasn't ridiculous making every match a sweatfest. you had some easy matches, some sweaty, some in the middle. now its just all sweat all the time. tbh season 5 is where it started to go downhill. thats when they added the 25 xp to shields & it took fkn forever to kill people. thats when they first started adding dumb changes nobody asked for. the community collectively lost its sh*t & they reverted the changes in season 6. but the SBMM continued to get worse & worse. eventually I stopped playing because they never brought back solos. now they brought it back & I don't even like it. not because the mode isn't cool, but because the gameplay is bad, which is a core game issue. not the fault of the game mode. the sound & hit detection is bad & you shouldn't be able to sidestep strafe around bullets like the matrix. thats just dumb.
