Given the material of the cliff wall which is full of red clay, and the vegetation which indicates a good amount of rain, how long can a shelter like this last? I. hope it lasts for as long as you go there. Your skill and hard work have made it a treasure. There is also a lot of gray clay. I wonder if building a fire in it will harden it at all. Ah, so it is completely clay and sand. You're not just a designer and builder, you're also a decorator. Love your plates, and your taro pizza. You are awesome!
Given how hard that clay is despite the amount of precipitation around, you could flood it for a week straight and I doubt it would change much if at all.
It is still clay after all, unfired clay that is. He could easily plaster it and bake it with a bonfire. Hill around it might erode eventually but the hole would stay.
