12:40 instead of using the jointer, you can stand short pieces like those up and push them over the bandsaw. Only issue is getting a straight cut, but depending on how straight you need it it can be a good option

@9:40 cutting some round stock like this without any kind of support is approximately the only way to have bad things occur on a bandsaw 😱
