OK I will explain to you since the way he explains it can be confusing. Bascially he refers to an extra step of slight wrist movement before the underarm swing. Sometimes i skip it and i indeed notice the lack of control. stability = Your swing is smooth, stable, has rhythm and with firm grip but you can NOT do much rather than simply sending the ball back Control = It is handling the ball furtherly rather than just sending it back as it came. You control the trajectory and spin and can make more placements, in the corners etc. The order of the full stroke technique is this (read detailed explanation below) 1. underarm => momentum 2. wrist (catch ball) => control 3. underarm swring => power 4. wrist (will happen automatically after snaping/swinging the underarm. So not forced) => spin Detailed explanation Remember! When spining, the contact with the ball must happen in the middle of the swing. Not too early not too late so the ball to roll on the rubber and then pull out with the rest of the swing. Mistake If you do the wrong technique as the player in the back in the video, what will happen is that the swing/snap of the underarm will make the wrist to be snaped too early!. This means that the wrist will be turned in front too early before it contacts the ball. Also this will lead into different bat angle each time. So this is lack of control. You just hit the ball and goes wherever and however. When you contact the ball, at least half of your wrist must be broken back So we have ready position, start, mid, and end of the swing 1. ready position => you break your wrist back as the coach shows. 2. start => do not swing with harsh movement yet. its early. But instead do a soft underarm movement to gain momentum and move till where you will contact the ball. The wrist remains almost to its started postion, still broken back. Maybe a small percentage of it will have moved. This is an underarm momentum movement. Like when you are driving and you put the 1st gear for the car to just start moving 3.mid => this is where you contact the ball and where coach says that you catch the ball. Slightly move the wrist but only a little. Do not excert it or it will disconnect with the underarm. 4. end => Snap/pull out with your underarm. The snap will cause your the rest wrist movement to follow automatically and create spin. Thats why we have a relaxed wrist.
Its about hitting THROUGH the ball and your wrist finishing will apply enough spin. When your stroke is like the incorrect example, it means you're brushing the ball only, while using wrist as the main power source.
Don't understand the concept. What does it mean to catch the ball first with wirst and then power with the forearm? I thought the opposite would be correct, means first bend back the wirst then move the whole arm as one unit and only at ball contact at a whip from the wirst and move the arm to the end of the movement... But you say the wirst needs to be moved first to catch and then push forward with the forearm? Hard to imagine
you are right almost 95%,I think his meaning is emphasize don’t use your wrist generate force, use it control the shots direction and how much spin it need
Чтобы мяч не отскакивал от накладки как от стекла, кисть должна быть расслаблена до момента контакта. Она можен начинать движение первой, и она направляет мяч, но мощность удару придают другие более сильные мускулы
I don't think that they actually mean, 'no wrist'. It's more about not leading with the wrist, but lead with the forearm/elbow. The old coaches used to say that the action of the stroke is very similar to throwing a frisbee or whipping with a towel. Lead with the forearm, the wrist will follow

you shouldn't flick your wirst together with the forearm, like the guy is doing in the video. You need to "catch" the ball FIRST with your wrist, and then use the forearm. The guy in the video doing wrong, was not catching the ball and was swining everything at once

You didn't understand what he means.. He didn't say don't use the wirst.. Wirst is crucial for backhand.. He's taking about the correct timing to use the wrist.. Timo is doing the same.. First grab the ball with the wrist then use the forearm for power.. You grab with the wirst in different ways according to what you need to impart to the ball (spin, direction etc). This what he means by wirst for control

I think this is a tough concept to figure out. Having someone like him correct you in person would be for the best.

How i must use wrist and forearm?

This needs to be trained to get the feeling and fully understand
Have stability but no control? Confusing 😂
It is😂. I think he means the technique is stable and can be done for many repetitions but the control over the ball angles speed and spin is low.

Timo uses a lot of wrist in bh loops. Nothing wrong with it.
Timo does many techniques that only Timo can do. Like forehand loops, he only moves forearm and wrist.
