No one can ever top John Gallagher Jr's portrayal of Moritz Stiefel, it's so well done.
I personally prefer Alex Boniello and Daniel Durant from the revival of spring awakening. The signing and the way the two work together it just sends chills down my spine
Leah Thai I think they do a great job but in the end two people can't completely embody a character the way one person can. In my opinion.

This is my favorite song from the show - so beautiful and sensual. ALL the guys' solos are amazing, from J. Groff and JGJ all the way through to Gideon, Brian and esp. Skylar - he gives me chills every time. This cast's voices just blended so incredibly & effortlessly. Oh, and the icing on the cake is the way Jon removes his jacket in slow motion at the end. Yum.

Its rare that you can say the whole cast, and I MEAN THE WHOLE cast gives you shivers! All irreplaceable and remarkable!!!
Idk why but Moritz lifting his leg up slightly at 0:59 is kinda adorable??
It may seem shallow, but the fact of the matter is these urges are being repressed because of the society these kids live in, and there is no way for them to express their desires. It's all about releasing the sexual tension within you, which isn't really shallow at all, it's just human. However, I will agree that the music is absolutely brilliant.
Saw the Original Cast back on Broadway having no idea what the show was about (nor ever hearing any of the songs). When they sang this, I was completely blown away. Only time I've ever truly wanted to give a standing ovation after just a "regular" song in the musical. Just beautiful. And so well staged. It's a song that touches on emotions we've all felt. It touches your soul.

6/7 years on and i am still in love with this musical. I think it's something you either really connect to/ relate to or you just don;t understand at all. So beautiful.

Favorite song. Ugh. It gives me goosebumps and puts tears in my eyes because it is so freaking beautiful. Gideon, Skylar, Brian, ugh. Just everyone is amazing.

That's a valid point, especially in this show. All of the songs represent inner monologues, as opposed to big, over-the-top numbers just for show.

I love the obc, and this is a beautiful number, but after seeing the Deaf West revival’s take on it, I can never go back. The emotions in the revival, the dynamic choreography, the way the asl bring emotion into it? Immaculate. The original broadway production walked so that the Deaf West revival could fly.

For most of 2007, I was 4. I wish I could have seen it because now I am totally obsessed with it and the cast. I also am totally in love with the deaf west production and have been told it's going on tour.

The full version of this show which was online for six years just got removed and I'm actually crying. This was the only recording with John Gallagher Jr. If anyone downloaded it and has it saved please tell me because honestly, I'm heartbroken it's gone, I watched it almost every day.
You know what's even sadder? I'm pretty sure the night before it got taken down was the one I finally decided to watch it for the first time (and fell in love with it), so can you imagine what I felt the next day when I tried to look for it bc I wanted to quickly re-watch a scene? I couldn't belive my bad luck... anyway, there's another recording around here but it's divided into parts, I'm pretty sure you can find it by typing "full spring awakening" or something (if it's still up, it's been like two days since the last time I cheked)

Only reason for a Braodway show to close is if it stopped making enough money, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for when they bring it back again so I can see it, I missed my chance in 2007 =(
8 years later and still nothing. I was introduced to this a couple years ago, and I would sell all my possessions to go see it on Broadway with the original actors

Gonna point out that it’s my dream to play Moritz. He’s such an interesting character. I always loved how Johnathan portrayed him. He’s really relatable to me.

why are some of the lyrics different on the soundtrack versus when they perform this song live?
Basically, it's about the kids' need for sexual contact. It's not necessarily about love, it's more about the hormonal urges of the adolescents. The meaning of the song is pretty shallow, but the music is so fucking brilliant, I think they could be talking about rape and I'd still be interested.
