I’ve imported an S660 to the UK. It’s stunning. Metallic grey, CVT, alpha variant. Every option -though it’s high spec anyway. According to the handbook it does a few ‘clever’ things. It did auto brake one time when I was late braking. Supposedly a little sluggish….. not mine! The sport mode button cancels its auto stop function and unleashes a white knuckle experience. Top speed is limited but it catapults you from a standstill. Thank goodness for its G-Force meter. A road legal go-kart. Sadly discontinued. Nice video.

There aren't any brand new affordable MR cars in America. MR2-S and S2000 can't be bought new with warranty. The MX-5 is all there is if one wants affordable, lightweight, rear-drive, and key word NEW sports car. That's why the new Honda S-car needs to come to America. If it happens to be the S1000, that's all the better.

You get a small sports car, with fuel economy and running costs of a city car...exceptional. Even a second hand MX5 will cost me almost 30-40% more in insurance/tax/gas/maintenance.
Indeed a sweet nice car. This is perfect for US short drives to work and school. Honda has many great cars, only if they will export to the US, and actually manufacture those awesome concept such as the EV-STER, OSM, GEAR, FCV, RA-X, just to name a few, all those could turn into production vehicles for EV or fuel cell etc.
I haven't been in Japan and didn't see kei cars in real life. And may be I don't understand philosophy of kei cars. But it's fantastic to make economy class cars like that!

If mainly older people are buying them, how does it feel to drive at its limit? I love the S2000 (especially the AP1 with 9k) but only 1 out of 5 buyers were 40 years old or older.
To bring a 120hp 1.0L version to the U.S. and keep it lighter than the miata - but around the same price - would be extremely cool. A bit like an updated MR2... but by Honda!!
Because the engine is probably the weakest you'll ever find on a car sold in the US (660cc to be exact). Not to mention that it's only built for Japanese size regulations and most likely cannot be made legal by meeting US regulations

i love small cars I have a 1999 Elise 111S for fun and 2005 insight for fun commuting. Both have enough storage space for a small sports bag This has zero storage at all once the roof is stored, what a disaster. Maybe they should stretch it a little and put some McLaren F1 style storage in.
Why is this so difficult? A 1900 lb car with turbo 3 (125 HP) would be almost identical to the original Lotus Elan (same HP and weight). It was a terror on the tracks, so I would expect nothing less. I just think Honda wants to keep certain cars for their people in Japan. I wish American companies thought the same way.
