zoufmalade here in the US we can import them after they are 25 years or older. Some people have imported some old kei cars already. It is not easy you have to find a reputable dealer that does it right if anything is wrong in the paper work it can get crushed. Also there is extra taxes to be paid. If we never got it parts are hard to find with imported cars.

I'd buy it, depends on the price though. I bought the 2019 Corolla XSE hatchback last year, in manual of course, and will probably get the 250hp Corolla hatch when it comes out in 2022 unless a better option becomes available at that time.

Many, many years ago in my youth I owned a Kei car, it was a Suzuki SC100 " whiz kid", it also was a rear engine rear wheel drive, but was very practical as it had 4 seats. It had loads of kit and was surprisingly cheap to buy. I actually sold it after 2 years of ownership for more than I bought it for new, how often can you do that! I bought it new from a UK suzuki dealer, I loved it. It wasn't particularly fast but so so much fun to drive. There were very few here in the UK, so it attracted a lot of attention and interest as nobody had a clue what it was. An interesting review, Its great to see that these fun cool microcars are still popular. Its a shame that they are only available in Japan.

Loved the configuration of the 6 speed manual stick shift specially that the reverse is all the way next to 6 the gear instead of most other stick shift cars like porsche, mini and even Corvettes where the reverse is right next to the 1st gear!!!! ... By the way it was very funny u calling the hard plastic (High quality hard plastic).😉😉
So glad it's a manual. I really hope manuals settle into a good steady niche with these new sports cars. I don't ever want the experience of shifting my own gears to go away.

Living in Japan I see lots of Miatas, Copens, S2000s etc. on the road with their tops down but believe me the drivers in the S660 definitely look the happiest (in a masochistic way maybe).

Dimitris the NC definitely is underrated people in the miata community be hating them. The NC is one of the most daily miata. Would not mind one for daily I would keep my NA as a project car.
Also it only makes up to 63 hp. Most 600cc streetbike engines make more than that, some even up to 120 hp stock. But it's meant for economy, hence the 19+ second quarter mile.

I've owned a Honda Sport 600, it was a fun car. The Smart car is sold in America, there's no reason this car couldn't be sold here. It would sell well everywhere in the world.
If you make it bigger, it changes what it is. This car looks like it would be fun, but you still have to get in and out. I would imagine they would sell a few just on novelty, but it's not practical and would it even meet safety standards with out adding a bunch of crap and ruining it? It's one of those "I like the idea" but I wouldn't own one, cars.

Design of this is beautiful - front end is very modern NSX looking. I just read an older SpeedHunters article about modified versions at a previous TAS, but actually stock looks so clean.
America the land of giants, six foot plus +, 200 LBS, would not consider this go-cart, micro-car as a feasable, useful daily driver. The trunk space is barely enough to fit a Supersize me meal for one person.
It just shows what a fantastic car the Smart Brabus Coupe was. Plenty of space under the bonnet and on the shelf over the engine, and a turbo. Easy to take off and store the targa roof, plus the 101 bhp could be chipped to about 118 bhp. If only they hadn’t leaked water +++.
My BIGGEST AUTOMOTIVE FRUSTRATION was not to be able to drive this lovely little thingy. Why Honda kept it JDM only still is beyond me. It baffles me. I would surely have given up any vehicle imaginable to have this: - Sub 900 kg weight - Mid-engined - Manual - Low centre of gravity - Low carbon footprint Basically for those of us who REALLY enjoy driving while not being oblivious of our planet, our fellow earthling-mates and even our children. Unique little car. Little lovely gem.
