Someone did eventually top this run. Big congrats to them! It may inspire me to revisit the level but I'm just coming back from an elden ring binge so I need to build up my skating legs. It'll still be a while before I seriously attempt this run again.
I notice you kinda get a little speed boost when coming out of a quarterpipe, how do you do that? Or does that happen all the time and I just havent noticed?
Any tips on doing the big jump at 1:10 ? I can't consistently do it, there are so many times it seems like my timing is good and I come up short. I had to avoid this route to get the radysus challenge.
Unfortunately I can't do the jump consistently either. It's so hard. That jump is basically the reason I didn't go back to optimize the run. I do have a strat, it's just not a silver bullet. When approaching the jump I go into "full speed mode" instead of "score mode". Basically, don't jump excessively because you lose speed every time you land. When you are forced to jump try to hit all "perfect" grinds and manuals to preserve all the speed you can. Don't special grind or grind switch because they reduce your speed. Finally, you basically need to "coyote jump" afaik -- jump on first frame after you leave the rail like wile e coyote running off a cliff. All this stuff happened to come together on this run and it was all intentional. That's all I got though. And like I said, I fail the jump a lot. Hopefully it can help you though. Thanks for watching the run :)
I actually figured out the secret technique to nailing that jump. It's way easier than I thought. The trick is to pop off the tip of the railing by jumping when you approach the tip of the rail. Basically, riding up a kicker or rail will slow you down. So you jump instead of grinding up the kicker and when you pop off the tip you have way more speed than if you ground the whole thing. It's a common technique in high level league lobbies but it's not used nearly as often in score runs for campaign levels. I wasn't making a local recording but I was streaming when I was first working on the tech. I think it should show up in all the top runs for the level now. Now that I've beaten the entire game I have to disagree with you on your assertion that this is the 'hardest level' That honor belongs to the absolute slogfest that is Snake Springs.
I believe levels like Snake Springs, The Brickway and Cheetahs Hill (going through all the gnarly routes) are much harder than this one. The fact you had a top score with such a simple execution really shows how far the comunity has come with this game, if you check nowadays, players like Brownie or Randompixel do such ridiculous stuff taking advantage of the level design, abusing mechanics and precisely spamming the hell out of tweak grabs, is nonsense, great run though, Ive personally managed to get 5.2M on that level.
This game is begging to have multiplayer imagine racing other players in this game or trying to beat their score in real time the devs would practically be printing money if they added multiplayer
Revisiting some OOW vids and I apologize for the pain I’ve inflicted for designing some of these levels 😂

My respect to people have platinum trophie of this game
my first time seeing World gameplay and damn that track is insane. I did not expect the transfers and transitions and wall rides

I have the same issue and I can't tell what I'm doing wrong 🤷♀️
