To anyone coming back to this - the other commenters are close but haven't described it exactly. You need to skip the rail right before sleek but push and hold the left thumb stick in one direction (eg like for a kickflip) right after the rail / before you high five sleek. Then release the left thumb stick on the half pipe so all you do is the flip, then manual and continue the combo. I tried every other permutation and only this one works
Not from my experience. Just hi five Sleek like you normally would, on all 4 wheels - no combo. Then start your combo at the following quarter pipe right after him, up until the end. Edit - i see what you're saying, that you need to be "crouching" while hi 5ing? Might be the case, since I probably was crouching there as well.
Honestly that sounds sick! Maybe the second OOW DLC will have loops. DLC1 just dropped today and while it is awesome I can confirm there are no loops unfortunately.
If you have problems with the jump before the last set of three panels, you need to jump right after the direction changes from descent to ascent, that way you keep the momentum, also, on the three panels you need to jump very fast from one to the other, preferibly spamming the upward trick to keep elevation easier.
I have the same problem. did you try land before him, high five and start new combo? it say high five and THEN finish in single combo... SOLUTION edit: I was right. land on green planks before him, hi five, and start new combo and finish. that worked for me.
wow. i didn't think you'd be able to start a new combo. but yeah. someone on discord told me you have to skip the rail right before sleek. i ended up doing it with a manual, full comboing the level. but hey, if it's actually even easier i wouldn't complain. thanks for sharing :)
Thank you so much.. ive been trying it for hours and it was freaking me out that i wouldnt get the objective even if i did the whole fucking level with every side loop in one single combo😂 its so frustrating
This one was weird for me too! The quarter-pipes immediately after Sleek seem to have a strange glitch that makes it hard to manual out of them. It's fine if you're in combo, but if you're starting a new one (as the game demands) it's all janky. I had to deliberately not trick on the way up, and that seemed to solve it. Just in case anyone else is having the same issue...
Prepare to have this issue about 20 more times if u plan on doing all the challenges, they are all so janky. AND, there is literally no guides for this game online anywhere so you get to figure it out alone :)
Huh. I can't say I've really felt affected by something like that. It's so late in the run though I'd say it's probably worth just holding your grind direction super early and not worrying about getting a perfect/good grind. Just get any grind you can and finish the run. Not sure that'll help much. Hope you're able to work it out though. Good luck.
It's a difficult one to hit, you have to pop really late from the previous rail, and make sure you have as much momentum as possible going in. I also thought it was glitched, but it's just tough! Hope you got it by now!
What @jdmhexagon said, you need to pop very late. To maintain speed, only get a quick touch on the stair section and jump off immediately to the next grind. I practiced this over and over from the last checkpoint until I had it nailed.
pretty sure the half pipe gives you the same momentum every time, to maximize your air time with walls make sure your holding a direction before your touching the wall and letting go after you leave it! edit: also going up a kick ramp will slow you down so release early on it for more speed! but also make sure your it's not too early that you'll lose height!

This is how new 2d sonics should be made.

LOL you went from firecrackering to lane switch 0:47 wth

Came here for this. What the hell.
It worked! Thanks!

Thanks a lot. I would never come to this solution without help.
This is a weird one. You have to start a new combo right before high fiving Sleek, and then keep it until the end.

late to the party, but can confirm the same jank. if you have 0 combos going into the halfpipe, the manual fails. (on PC through steam).

The rail at 2 minutes 5 seconds keep glitches for me and I keep missing it. Any advice?

I've tried this so many times and have never had the momentum to make it past the three panels at 1:39. It always falls just short no matter what I do

try doing it a little faster, that worked for me
