P0740 Honda Civic Check Engine Light

My 2003 Honda Civic has thrown the P0740 code, Transmission is a reman unit and the diagnostic begins.

this is a circuit fault code possibly the shift solenoid "A" torque converter lock up. its directly under the upper radiator hose , kind of hidden under the thermostat housing. 1 ten mm bolt 2 wire connector . replace it and do a drain and fill. zr-1 or dw-1 fluuid "oreillys global" is fine

I bought an Honda Civic 2003,Knowing there is a problem with the trasnmission.The Mechanic charged me with 600 $ and I bought a japanese one for 425$.After driving one hr.I got that code.So because I kept my old one.I will try first to change the solenoid B,because I already change the A.I keep you posted.

Change out all three solenoids and it's going to start running right again there's a solenoid a b and c

Flush the fluid and see if it has a trans filter idk if it does but also might have to replace shift solenoids

Wouldn’t recommend that in a Honda. Honda’s are super picky about what goes in the transmission. Only genuine Honda atf should be used no additives I would recommend

You can read codes without the check engine light. Did the former owner show you the paper work for the replacement transmission.???
A 2003 civic will cost 4 grand to replace the whole unit. I think you smoked the trans by not getting towed. Trans fluid will be black if you did that.

@ Noe donde lleva el torque convertidor y a lo que se esa transmisión trae el filtro adentro de la tranmision se tendria que abrir la tranmision me puedes responder por favor que le hiciste ya que tengo el mismo codigo en civic 2003 y ya he gastado mucho y nomas no queda.

@@Goat2024-l3d yo baje la transacción y la destape compre solo dos empaques al destaparla eso se daña para arma otra ves los necessities y compre el filtro de aceite de la transmission y el torque converter par es la turbina
