"Us and Them" is a song by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd, from their 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon. The music was written by Richard Wright with lyrics by Roger Waters. It is sung by David Gilmour, with harmonies by Wright. The song is 7 minutes and 49 seconds, the longest on the album.
"Us and Them" was released as the second single from The Dark Side of the Moon in the United States, peaking at No. 72 on the Cash Box Top 100 Singles chart in March 1974. The single peaked at No. 85 in the Canadian chart.
Pink Floyd are an English rock band formed in London in 1965. Gaining an early following as one of the first British psychedelic groups, they were distinguished by their extended compositions, sonic experimentation, philosophical lyrics and elaborate live shows. They became a leading band of the progressive rock genre, cited by some as the greatest progressive rock band of all time.

me too, I struggle with lyrics that are not clear.
I too have trouble hearing. And my biggest problem is in understanding words that are sung rather than spoken. The normal cadence is clear where drawn out words don’t have the same sounds to me.

Too young to be a listener
The first time I heard Floyd it was the name of my friends dads dog, I was about 12 years old and thought it was a funny name for a dog, years later I would sit with my friend his dad my dad and listen to the best music in the world drinking and smoking laughing, Its a Monday morning and today I am having a Floyd day RIP Floyd Mark and Peter
The 80s were perfect for Pink Floyd’s songs, especially being in Los Angeles. His songs always make me feel as if I’m in a different dimension. All of his music, is hypnotizing. Sometimes I feel like I’m flying in the evening air, looking at all the lights of the city, other times are glimpses of special moments in my life. Beautiful and sad at the same time. ❤️

I too felt the same way and a friend was praying for me and lo and behold I connected with God and wow, enlightening and now feel at peace and understand that i need to read the Bible to understand all the prophesies as they are all happening today. 🙏 consider it. I agree. The time is near. Not good, but at the same time, if things don’t change we need Jesus here now.
But the feeling I had felt more like I was soaring above the city and I could see the beauty of the evening lights & felt like I was at peace & felt a love of being, but a little bit of sadness as well.

Today would have been my beautiful fiancé’s birthday, Lia would have been 39 today🥺. Mine was last month, we were exactly (20) years apart, within (1) day too. She would say this to me all the time, David it is just us and them, let it go.
I do not care if they love or hate us and long as we love & have each other 🥰, Lia was right ✅…..
She died 09/2022, we were planning a 2024 wedding, sadly it will never come true 😥

@@alley9, Thank you 🙏🏼 sir, this was very nice of you. I miss Lia more than words can express for me. She died of heart failure from outside interference causing her a lot of stress.
I am just not lucky with long term relationships. Before Lia, my wife Barbara died of bone cancer 2 weeks before her 50th birthday. Barb had 10 years on me, I had 20 years on Lia and in between there was Renee.
She had 25 years on me ! She passed away of natural causes in 2019. Thanks for the kind words, have a great 2024 sir….
