It is a newer skin but personally I think Dark Cosmic Jhin may be the best skin in League overall. It re-imagines Jhin in a fantastic way, the animations, the four arms, the voice and the effects steal the show

the issue is that the dark star, and by proxy, cosmic skin lines don't fit every champion we don't want to go back to old league where they were making skins for the sake of making skins [even if they kind of do that now sometimes, but they at least kind of try] there're probably quite a few champions where the thematic would either just not fit at all, or resemble another skin they already have too much to warrant it
Hi, Kha'Zix onetrick here. There's a few things about Dark Star Kha'Zix most people don't know. 1) If you evolve Q, it'll start making this annoying fucking vacuum noise and holy shit I cannot stand it. 2) The ult animation looks like you're vanishing into some weird pocket dimension and it's amazing, no other Kha'Zix skin has such a unique ult effect. 3) Evolving R changes the colour scheme from orange/red to blue and it looks so fucking sick. 4) If you have Muramana fully stacked, the starry particle effect on Kha's claws will resemble the star on his face. Also it goes well with his R-evolved colour scheme, so there's a wacky W-R-E evolve Muramana+Ability haste build for you. Spam evolved W (2 second slow on a 4 second cooldown), turn invisible a bunch, make enemies ragequit. Only takes about twenty minutes for the build to come online. 5) When the W explodes it makes this little galaxy thing. Combined with Ravenous Hydra, you can get a REALLY trippy explosion of particle effects by just evolving W and throwing it at some minions. Ravenous Hydra also gives ability haste, hint hint nudge nudge.
My one grudge with this skin line, is that the splashart THEY ARE ALL SO SIMILAR!! I can never tell if my adc is a K6, a Thresh, a Varus or a what the hell?!
With dark star Thresh and Varus i always got the impression that they were trying to go for a galactus silver surfer type relationship hell i think dark star thresh's voice lines support this.
Dark Star Thresh got his own game mode... that's how much Riot knew this would be a success. With all the limited time game modes I can't think of any other one where every player used the same character.

2:17 no, I think TB skyen bring more things to the table than "old clunky animation + "creepy skin" = work" her animation was supposed to be creepy, see my point is the dark star skinline is set in space, and space = floaty, if her animation we're like varus recall where they stretches his body like it has no bone, because he doesn't he's a cosmic entity, everything on him is just "space sparkles that look like materials", with Oriana instead of doll clockwork stiff movement she could work with a unstiff smooth animation of her arms unnaturally bend backward to spin the key her body twisting everywhere but it still always comeback in the right place THAT would embrace and fit with the cosmic horror theme, the clunky animation does look out of place and kinda take the "space" away form the skin but it is a good skin for the element of the floaty tentacles on her head and the universe skirt
In a perfect world, the Void woukd have the Dark Star aesthetic. Take Cho'Gath for instance: his Dark Star skin sells way more this idea of non-understandable otherworldly monster that only goal is consumption, same for Kha'Zix.
