Exactly. It's so rare that you get an ANGRY support. PsyOps Sona is on a level with Pyke for sheer homocidal intent.

Actually, if use the toggle on Pyke’s dagger (on any skin) and turn it off then on again (or just double tap it) it causes his next auto attack to be his crit animation rather than his normal attack animation. Just a cool fun fact for ya.

I personally really love the VFX of all of the skins! But the champ choice really is a bit weird. I feel like PsyOps could be the skinline that brings SciFi/Modern Aesthetics to fantasy mages, like maybe Ryze or Karma. Mages cant really get a Project skin or smth like that so PsyOps could fill that! But besides Sona...they didnt...

I hope that they do something like that. Hell, you can do something amazing with other champs like Kai'sa (having her void vacuums rocket launchers be ACTUAL rocket launchers but controlled by her mind) or Kassadin (having his blade beimg made of pure psyonic energy). But yeah, this skim lime is just diet PROJECT with just one good skin and the rest is just bad

@@raulbrenes778 Ezreal himself isnt, all the power comes from the Gauntlet, which is a lot easier to transfer into into a setting where its some high tech weapon than it is with full on mages. No shame against PsyOps Ez tho, I love that skin
Unironically I think that PsyOps Kayle is one of Kayle's best skins, if not for the visual flair, then definitely for the sound effects of the skin. The waves, the Q, the level up sound, everything about it is really satisfying to me. But, I respect your opinion all the same Mr Nicholas J Boi, if that even is your real name.
Couldn’t agree more. Love how her wings look in this skin, it’s so different and very visually appealing. Also wanna shoutout that her splash art looks awesome too. I love all of Kayle’s skins though
Psy Ops Viktor feels damn good tho. And lobster is a win to me
I think sona is a prime example of why this skin line should have been mostly mages, having weapons just doesn't really gel with psychic power imo.
I feel like Battlecast xerath would have actually fit better in this skin line being a soul trapped in a robot, it fits this skin lines themes much better

Psy Ops Sona is my second favorite legendary in the whole game and I’m glad it’s getting the acknowledgment

The Pyke one is pretty cool, his hood thingy on the head is inspired by real army tech for underwater infiltration, wich fits Pyke super well.

Telekinetic powers are always seemed so cool to me ever since i discovered x-men. And i get excited when i see a telekinetic in a piece of media like Eleven or Vanya to name a few. So naturally i get excited when they announced this skinline. Well imagine my disappointment when i saw this skins. Like why master yi or zed or shen when you could have taliyah, syndra.
THANK YOU. You just nailed my main problem with this skinline perfectly. They could've chosen any numbers of mages who throw stuff around with their minds, but instead they chose Yi and Vi, whose special power is... hitting people. Wow.

All of your critiques are valid and honestly quite true, but Psyops is still my favourite skinline because I love the particle effects.

I actually think Viktor's is one of the best in the line. The vfx are really pronounced for his spells and I think it makes him look really slick. I was a little sad when all we got for his was lobster :(
The SFX on PsyOps Samira is supreme tho
The one thing I’ll say about vi is I really like the effects, especially her passive. It looks like it fits in the skin line
how can they do psychic power and not have xerath or velkoz or both.
I feel weird because most people don't like ot but holy crap I really like most psy ops skins. Maybe its just wild rift made the ones in that one look really good with animation, maybe its just me loving the vibe, maybe... actually definatly because of amazing music theme but it just sticks with me more than usual futuristic skinlines
I was so happy that I got the Sona skin from a box. One of my favorites
I actually find the modern military aesthetic super cool. Idk why but I always love seeing it and want it to be used with more things, I've always wondered what a fantasy setting pulling from modern military designs as a basis would look like
As a Viktor main I love PsyOps Viktor just because it still feels like it fits his base storyline as a mechanically-augmented human but he went further than his base skin. It’s my personal favorite Viktor skin so far although high noon is also pretty cool just doesn’t fit Viktor’s base lore nearly as well.
Besides that I just think they look cool for the most part. I have PsyOps Pyke and while I like the W I almost always use Blood Moon instead, it does feel kind of boring compared to a lot of the other concepts save for a few exceptions.
I think the the target audience for PsyOps are the people that are big into Military/Sci-fi aesthetics because personally I adore these skins just for the simple fact that I love the military aesthetic and I think PsyOps is a good execution of mixing Sci-Fi and Military together when you just focus on the looks it perfectly nails mixing the sci-fi aesthetic together with the military aesthetic
I was (foolishly) expecting Viktor to get a legendary skin since the last event was the first spirit blossom which actually had 2 legendary skins one for each "side". Obviously Rito would never give a legendary to anyone who isn't even semi popular these days, so in hindsight I was being too optimistic.

another thing pyke ctrl 5 does is give your next auto the crit animation which i think is pretty neat
It really is a bit odd that for the PSYCHIC POWERS skins, they didn't seem to think about that aspect of it at all for most of these champs. Syndra would have been a great fit here, or Zoe, or Nocturne, or even Irelia since she at least isn't just holding her blades. And they don't already have this type of aesthetic in another skin like so many of these choices.
What was the deal with the viktor skin review? Was looking forward to that part and was left kind of perplexed.
I love psyops Kayle, great look great effects, smooth, it's shame I wasn't able to get her icons and emote.
Samira’s R SFX is what makes this skin imo, +1 so 5/10
the noises her R makes are so fucking satisfying, hearing her ult in any other skin of hers feels wrong
I don't know how they managed to ignore IRELIA of all characters like her whole schtick is that she uses telekinesis to weild her blades

Personally I really like the modern military look that the PsyOps line brought us. Hell, I like it in Arctic Ops, and PsyOps just takes that skinline and bumps the VFX up to 11.
I can definitely understand the criticisms for some of the champion choices or the implementation of the "psychic" aspect of the theme. However, I don't think psychic powers HAVE to be purely psychic like what we see from Sona. Plenty of sci-fi media have had psychic powers be inherently attached to technology or a channeling device (like a sword), so it's not like psychic powers have to be pure telekinesis.
Overall I'd say it's a skinline primarily carried by its VFX (and Sona because hot damn), but it's a popcorn movie type of skinline. Why does Vi have bullet gauntlets? I don't know, but it looks cool so I'll turn off my brain and just enjoy it for what it is. It's far from my favorite skinline, but overall I'd give it a 6/10.
I always thought they use the weapons guns or swords to sorta channel there powers in this skin line because all there powers are actually pretty weak on there own an there weapons are designed to enhance them when they fight.
Fun fact about Pyke's skin, the face cover is supposed to be basically a camo netting that breaks up the silhouette of your head and shoulders. Him being a champ all about swimming and underwater stuff, the netting is a reference to the Danish Jaeger Corps.
I personally think Sion would've been a nicer fit here in a way, sort of a psychic forced restart to the brain as his passive?
I really liked shens skin because of the vfx that have butterflies.

Not gonna lie, the toggle on Pyke's dagger has been bothering me for a while. Most of his new skins dont have a second form for the dagger and just do the weird flash and that makes me sad.
The dagger transforms from the first into the second state automatically at 1:05 in-game time btw.
Also, I don't know why or if it's even a problem. But for god knows why, the W sound of PsyOps Pyke (when he's on the enemy team) IT'S SO STUPIDLY LOUD. It literally jumpscares my ass every time I play against someone using that skin

1:04 Holy- Is that Nauthilax!?!? I LOVED Chaotic on 4kids! My favorite were the Mipedians, but I loved every monstrous design in that show, and the different nations they fought for!
I personally like the shen skin, because it gives me an image from a movie where it shows a bunch of people in danger saying “oh no we need help and then all of a sudden a ninja comes out of nowhere and protects them.

It's one of those skins emerge it looks cool as long as you ignore the lore, and tbh that's what I'm interested in for skins
The idea was really interesting to me, kind of unique, idk i was hooked and the particle effects (while they are really similar to eachother) were cool. But thats where my compliments end. While the base design/idea to me is cool, they are all missing cohesive elements and logic. Why does Vi have so many bullets? They could have made Gun-Gauntlets that make explosive punches while her ult is her using psy powers. My thought when i first saw the skinline was that it is Psy-enhanced soldiers, so it would be a cool mix of warfare weaponry and tech and Psy powers, but it ended up being just futuristic soldiers with magic effects slapped everywhere, even when its not needed or it doesn't make sense. Why should samiras bulet be psy-enhanced, it's a bullet, it's deadly on its own.
I felt that "I got fucking university work to do" in my soul. Thanks for providing awesome vids despite that
From my prospective all psy ops skins look like kay-o from valorant. One is the true exception and it is pykes one that reminds me of Simon "ghost" Riley from cod series and it's the only reason I paid 10 bucks for it.

I got psyops Kayle, Viktor and Vi because I think the spell effects are pretty and that's all the thinking i did
as someone who very much likes modern to semi-futuristic military I feel like if they leaned more into military with light psychic, instead of the mess we currently have, it might work better and have more of a place as the call of duty skins. But right now biggest problem with these skins is that excluding samira and sona they all already have better skins for the scifi future soldier shit (with half of them having project skins).

the weird chromatic aberration-y kind of effect on the psychic powers on some of these are pretty cool but i feel like it's too "AAA FPS aesthetics so as not to scare off teen boys" for my liking. honestly if they went like, 90s XCOM/fallout with it i'd like it way more, gimme cartoony-looking power armor and purple shapes
honestly an immediate way to improve the skin line is to have them use their psychic power to conjure up their weapons the that they're made of pure phychic energy, rather then it just be normal weapons

PsyOps for me is amazing music that oh yeah I guess also comes with some skins for some reason.
Imagine dropping a skin review and informing us of a delay in streams/videos the same day we get leaks for new Space Groove skins.
Have to agree with you NickyBoi. Other than Sona, this skinline was pretty lackluster. And I found myself sometimes mixing the characters up cause of their splashart (clarity, am I right, Riot?), like Zed looks too much like Yi, Yi looks too much Shen. And of course.. PsyOps Viktor looks just like his base skin

I love Psyops less for the Psychic portion and more for the paramilitary vibe it has. Of course, I also main Pyke so I play his skin for the ult music and effects.
3:57 you know what would've made it intesting, if he actually used he's mind to just cut people apart by thinking of shapes that would do so, maybe multiple swords, he isn' Irelia since her bodytype is completely different from hers so this would work, on crits he just smashes he's head on oppenents.
I think the empyrean skin is the evolution of psyops..

As a metal gear solid fan I love this series.
The VFX for all the skins is pretty cool (Zed's are still pretty bland, but what can ya do), Sona deserves the extra .5/10 just because one of the voice lines is "Look at you, no thoughts head empty." Oh to be her VA and get paid to say that. It's also her only skin where other people can hear her voice because mind powers and such, which is a neat detail
PsyOps Yi is the beas skin because he is Jack Raiden from MGR

I would've liked Kayle in this skinline if they made her base hair pink like it is in the splash. Sun-Eater still reigns supreme for me tho.

The one good thing about PsyOps Yi is that his double strike animation is different to other epic skins, it does a side slash then an overhead downward slash rather than the quick left-right like every other non-legendary
It immensely annoys me hos insistent Riot is on doing NOTHING of interest with Kayle's design in her skins.
Dragonslayer and sun-eater are the closest we get and even that could do so much more

Yea I'd have to agree that PsyOps Sona is definitely the best of the skin line. Personally I wish she kept that look of being completely covered in cybernetics since it has such a distinct style to it that fits the concept really well, like her entire body is useless except her head because all she needs is her mind. That fantasy is ruined with the second form she gets.
Kind of crazy how this skin line has a bunch of psionic super soldiers but they never do anything that feels especially psychic. Like, couldn't they have at least gave Master Yi a sword that he creates with his mind or something (kinda like what the Lantern Corps from DC can do)?

I really like PsyOps. Never was a fan of military aesthetics, but this skinline brings some colors to it. In fact, gasoline in the water type of colors XD
My favourites are Pyke (but his voice filters are too much, I barely can hear what he speaks), Zed (bc of the self-made meme Gas Moron) and also he looks badass), Shen (the idea of spectral guardian, whoever they are, is sick) and Sona... chi̋ľd̎ͧr͗̑e͐ͬ̔n̉̅̚ ̆̍̆ô̚̚fͨ̓̌ ͊́ͯẁ͗͋aͯͧ̾r̓̈ͥ ͬ̿͛w̒̉ȃ͋ǹt͂ to ̜k̫n̘̱o̳̻w̹͖̣ ̪̤̭y͈͍̞o̰͍̳u͕̟̰r̬͉͙ ͈͍̮l̝͔̰o̗̙ͅc̩̰̫a̖͉țͅi̺o̮n
I also kinda appreciate Yi bc he looks like Raiden from Metal Gear games pre-revengeance. I think they should look more into MGS universe when they are about to make second wave of PsyOps.
And Ezreal. I think he looks kinda cute in those skins. I want to listen his neverending blabbering about how good he is and no one will ever match him. He's just like J'zargo from Skyrim :)
