You can also pressurize the entire rail then close it so it doesn't build anymore pressure when you have it pulse and then measure the drop in pressure. A greater drop in pressure means the injector is cleaner than one with a lesser drop in pressure. This can be done on the car with the fuel pump. You just have to pull the fuel pump fuse after you pressurize the system.

you must have won a few science fairs I checked mine by using a 9 volt battery alligator clips and a can of carb cleaner connected to the injector with gas line and duct tape it was enough to see that 5 would spray and one would not open at all. yours was much better than mine but I was proud of what I did.

I love watching what different setups guys come up with for injector cleaning. Check out the Motion Pro setup. I found first hand that an ultrasonic cleaner and simple green works great, along with an injector pulser set to continuous for about 15 minutes. What I really want to see is a tank of liquid (simple green or whatever) that continuously recirculates under pressure thru an injector and returns back to the tank, going thru a filter in the process.
Carb cleaner does work wonders, but the small volume of liquid is insufficient. Honestly, once you watch an ultrasonic blow junk out of an injector, you'll be a hooked. But I really enjoyed watching your video, and seeing all the different ways guys come up with to clean their injectors. Can you outperform your first attempt, and come up with a recirculating tank setup?

A sonicator does a very good job, fill your injectors with cleaner through a syringe (needle not required), put injectors in a glass jar filled with carb cleaner, put jar in sonicator and have at it for thirty minutes. Flush injectors with fresh cleaner and repeat the process, after a few flushes and sonications it comes out clean as a whistle. Then I'd put them on a rig similar to yours to determine flow rates and adjust spray patterns.

Nice job. I bought the Allsun tester specifically for the mode 4 function where you can just let the injector run for however long you want. I put my injectors in an ultrasonic bath with some cleaning fluid in it and let the injectors run for around 10 minutes straight. They came out nice and clean. Thanks!

I just use a fuel pump in a closed loop system. 1 gallon fuel can with the return and suction going into it and a walbro 255 extra pump I had and regulate it to 60psi since that’s what I run for fuel pressure. Then I flow match all used injectors and make matching sets.

      Yep. For sure! 🤙🤙

I think Subaru only meant to say with this system you can but obviously you would need to add the other fuel rails or ports Because there’s only two ports.

If you think a gasoline port fuel injector, and a diesel common rail injector use the same drivers, connectors or operating pressures you should not be giving advice to people.

@@toyota218921 Sorry if you misunderstood. SubaruONLY says "Yep. For sure!" But the real answer is no. Common rail diesel fuel systems utilize pressures up to 29000 psi/ 2000 bar or 200 MPa. Most port fuel injected gasoline systems run around 45-60 psi/3.1-4.1 bar/310-413 Kpa. So, common rail diesel injectors are peizoelectric, meaning the injector opens when current passes thru it because a crystal deforms, letting the needle in the injector open. It operates at 450 times the pressure of port fuel gasoline system, which uses a coil (electromagnet) to open the injector. The amount of current, voltage, and time it takes to perform the task varies greatly. The biggest takeaway to common rail diesel systems is CLEAN FUEL IS ESSENTIAL. DRY FUEL IS ESSENTIAL. ANY dirt or moisture is death to these systems. Good luck.

Professional injector cleaning pulses cleaner for 20,000 - 30,000 cycles.
Best to just add injector cleaner to your fuel tank on a regular basis. I use 5oz Lucas With ever fill up - purchase by the gallon and it's only $1 application.

Injector cleaner is snake oil. Unless you drive the car without stopping from full to empty, you will not benefit from the cleaner you shove in your gas tank.

Not talking about in tank injector cleaner ( which would actually be better than what's in this video ) . I'm talking about a professional fuel injector cleaning machine.

Nice set up but I don't like the idea of using carb cleaner to clean the injectors.

I hear ya! I think it does cause rubber seals to swell, which means use need to replace those after. Any suggestions for a better cleaner?
