My 14 year old daughter stole my 2020 odyssey and totaled it at 90 mph. She walked away without even a bruise. All the air bags were deployed and protected her. Incredible car!
great and detailed video...I've learnt stuff i didn't know before... now, what i don't like about this Odyssey is: 1. No AWD 2. Lack of gear stick......( i hate buttons...) Otherwise...this van is great...very cool, family oriented, lots of space...etc i think too much tech is destroying today's vehicles....i want to drive like a human-being NOT A ROBOT!..Which takes away fun..
When discussing the paddle shifters you said there’s no sport mode. There is a Sport mode, that’s what the “S” next to the “D” on the shifter is. Push the button once for drive and again for sport mode.
Great review here. We have an suv and it’s already old, repairs aren’t even worth it anymore for what its worth for trade in. But it’s still a need for a 2nd vehicle. I only have 1 toddler and we often find ourselves renting or having two cars to take on long road trips which we like doing once every month when extended family comes to visit. We found that this 2020 Honda odessy to be our favorite for an ultimate ride convenience. We didn’t know that mini vans are now in the 50k mark so if we decided it would be an luxury expense for us. Does it drive like a car or an SUV? We decided to check it out together with the Siennas. I have question though that vent in the 3rd row seats hits is directly beside the cup holders.
This car looks awesome for Road trips! I'm trying to convince my mom to get this when it comes time to trade in her Pilot because this is so much more comfortable for road trips.
Overall I think the Odyssey is more comfortable, has a better seating assortment, and more features. It just comes down to are you okay with owning/driving a minivan for most people...
You left out that the middle row does not fold down anymore for extra room and it is quite a hastle to remove and store if they are not in the car, they have to stay in the up position
Great video, learned a lot. Thank you. QUICK QUESTION, after watching your video, I purchased it. MISSING, unlike my 2016, no audible sound when backing up. HELP.
It's high time they have a chain drive instead of belt drive in an Odyssey.... it's cost me around $2500 (and some change) to do a "belt-water pump-seals" change in my 2010 Odyssey. Imagine what will it cost to replace for this 2020 Odyssey model? :-(
Great review so far, I'm about 20 minutes in and I like it. But when he's reviewing the paddle shifters, he's wrong. It does have a Sport mode. That's why there's D/S. He's obviously not a manual driver lol
Justin, great video! I've actually watched this a couple times now as I get ready to purchase. Two questions on listening to audio that I can't seem to figure out.... 1) On my 2012 Odyssey, there is a manual tuning knob (TUNE/PUSH/SELECT) to "tune" through radio stations, and to cycle through each individual channel (not Presets) of XM radio. The 2020 doesn't have that? How would one easily just tune from e.g. 96.5 to 96.9 FM or change from XM channel 4 to XM channel 9? 2) On my 2020 there is a Mode button on the left side of steering wheel. That lets me cycle through FM to AM to XM to CD without looking down. It also had individual buttons for AM/FM and XM and CD etc. The 2020 doesn't seem to have anything like that? It seems one would have to look down at the screen and click/toggle a few times using the wheel controls just to change input? Help? Thanks in advance!
On the touch screen you can still tune through stations. There is a button for this. There is not a source button to allow up to jump through FM, AM, etc. on the steering wheel any more though.
@@JustinFullerReviews Thanks for replying! I do see how the touch screen has a tune ability, but I was more thinking of a knob (or something similar) to quickly tune through the many channels that are available on XM radio. e.g. on my 2012, one can use that knob to turn from channel 2 up to e.g. channel 30 in about 3 "turns", then up to channel 88 in a couple more quick turns. I have a feeling that "quick change" ability is limited if you have to use the touch screen? I'm hoping one can at least hold down that Tune button on the touch screen to quickly tune trough?.. If not, that is a tough thing to give up for someone who listens to XM and changes between a dozen or so channels (above and beyond the available Presets) all day! Let me know if you know and I will try to check it out in person of course. Thanks again for taking the time to reply!
Great review! Question: In the cabin talk feature it allows your passengers to hear you in the back, but are you able to hear passengers in the back without turning the air and music down or completely off? Does it use a microphone system or something to allow them to communicate? Sincerely, a mom who doesn't want to constantly yell "what?!?!"
Hi, thanks for the nice review. I heard that 2020 Odyssey has a feature that engine automatically stops when you apply break and car stops in traffic. Can you please confirm this.
I don't know why every car review nowadays talks about the keyless entry feature for about a minute. That feature has existed in cars since 2007 and maybe even before that. My old 2007 camry xle had it. It's like explaining how the windows can be rolled up using the powered buttons.
I have a couple of questions 1- does collision mitigation work when you back up? 2- Does the back up camera give you an option to see where you would end up when the wheels are turned?
The Collision mitigation braking system is for the front end of the car. Not for backing up. The back up camera does have dynamic guidelines, so it will show you where the car will head when the wheel is cut a direction.
Unfortunately I was an owner of one of those junky Hondas with terrible transmission and electronics, not to mention constant issues with Lift gate and side doors. When I went to the Honda dealer they told me I need to replace the Transmission fluid ($500) as the car is due for service while it had only 18,000 miles. Technician was telling me that transmission has no filter and the fluid (Honda Proprietary) needs to be replaced every 30k miles but Illinois is considered extreme weather condition state and I need to replace it every 15k miles. That is ridiculous, I asked him what do you do if you live in Alaska, Colorado or Nevada LOL. The cost of transmission fluid change is $500, and tech also urged me to replace the break fluid, wtf ($200), why? Mine was 2018 EXL with Navi (same as this one). From the beginnings transmission would shift hard, then there were multiple cases when I press the accelerator and the car would not start for few minutes, and not to mention burning smell from the transmission. Of course Honda claims this is normal, rest assured it is NOT normal as I almost got killed trying to leave the intersection while this car would not burge while pressing hard on the accelerator. Lift gate mechanism broke twice in 2 years that I owned the car, the gaps between each doors were different (bought it new). I got rid of the car in 2019 and got myself a Totota, much better car overall with no crazy maintenance costs. Run away from this car the fasters you can.
Not an issue I have run into in Austin Texas. However we do not get extreme cold weather here. I would encourage you to get a second opinion from another dealership. This does not sound like standard operating procedure.
@@JustinFullerReviews But if you ask me 500 dollars for transmission fluid change do every 15 - 30k miles... That is super expensive maintenance.
