This will be the most memorable day of my life.
It was an absolute honor to be on the same stage with @SteveVaiHimself and jam with him. THANK YOU Steve for this memory.

I'm not going to lie---this brought a tear(s) to my eye as Ellen nailed that solo when Steve introduced her. It was also very awesome to see how generous all the other musicians were toward her on stage and how receptive the audience was. Long may you run Ellen

I'm getting old. She looked so small on that stage and for a split second I worried she wasn't ready. Outstanding performance and she has now felt the thrill of the lights and atmosphere and the adoration of many. She has arrived.

Ellen looked perfectly fine on that stage as if she were playing with the band the whole time. Mom and Dad must be proud.
Faith in Humanity RESTORED!! As a bassman, I’m humbled at the vibrancy of Ellen, and the sincerity of Mr Steve. Amazing.
When everything seems to be lost, when you never expect , this young lady redeems your soul , that's the moment we realize that the world will keep on running with or without us.

Not only can you play an amazing bass you got to play with a legend Mr.Steve Vai. You did something at a young age that us old guitar and bass players can only dream of. I can only imagine the future you have ahead. Rock on young lady.
This was all super cute, but I think the cutest was just her and Phillip having their own little bass player sub-jam while the guitarists were all doing their thing.

I agree the guitarists ever competing got old quick with drift same old psychedelic riffs trying to hypnotize your groove putting the spot light on them instead of the blooming bassist. Narcisse gets really odd looking by comparison to humble talent
I think Philip enjoyed that just as much as Ellen did. 😊

I like the fact that he stayed back during Ellen and the bands pre gig briefing, dunno if that was intentional but it would have made Ellen feel like part of the band, and she handled all of the instruction from Vai all on her own, very well done.

She is so talented and adorable, and I love that thousand watt smile when she plays.
Who doesn’t love this little girl? If you love music, you will definitely love her. Can’t wait to see her years from now.
That bass is every bit as big as she is, yet she has it mastered. Her skill/talent, her smile, her innocence and the oh-so obvious bond she has with her dad. This girl has such a bright future ahead of her!
Steve is THE most down-to-earth musician ever! He invites people to jam with him and looks at them like "there is always something to learn from anyone". 🤣
He's a fine human being for being so generous in giving her this opportunity.
When I met Steve here in Mexico, indeed I realized he is very kind and very thoughtful. He transferred his knowledge to us like a great teacher, learning from the best it was an amazing moment.
He's just a straight-up good guy.
I saw him at the airport once and he was talking to a TSA officer for about ten minutes about guitars. Dude had a plane to catch but spent ten minutes talking to a TSO (those people that everybody hates because they have to search through your bags).

This is why Steve Vai is the best! How awesome of him to do this for fans of his and put them on stage and let them have there moment with him, amazing 🤩
Vai thrived under the generosity of mentors like Zappa when he was young, and so Vai understood that with that opportunity comes the responsibility to pay it forward.
That was so amazing. Ellen is a natural on stage; no fear, just her trademark huge smile and some fantastic bass. Thanks to Steve Vai for giving her this opportunity and to Hovak for being the awesome and patient teacher he is. Ellen ROCKS!

I have been following Ellen’s journey and I got goosebumps thinking back not too long ago when her dad was teaching her to play the bass. And look where she is now. Such a confident and competent musician. A testament to her amazing parents!!!
I sure hope she continues to grow and learn... and be taught and mentored. Over the years I've seen wizkids come and go... they sometimes get burned out for one reason or another. She seems to be loving it.
Steve is passion with no warfare. It is so nice to see how he gives his little help to real talents to come forward. Ellen did phenomenal! Looking forward to the years to come, young prodigy!

Best part of the video is at 15:58. Eyes glued to the bandleader, following every cue and absolutely nailing it. Sign of a true professional, despite still being in grade school. Astonishing.
This was beautiful. Very talented young lady. What caught my eye was the respect she earned from Philip Bynoe. He kept his eye on her, keeping her engaged. He even seemed to adopt that "Dad" role while they shared the stage. Touching...
I think my favorite part of that was when Steve and especially Philip kept Ellen engaged when the show focused on the guitars. I imagine it would have been easy to feel left out or overshadowed in that circumstance, especially with that great of an age difference, so it was nice to see them keeping her involved throughout. Always encourage the youth in the arts; not to make our lives better, but to make their lives better.
She didn't seem at all nervous, totally a natural. Loved it!!

What a thrill this must have been for young Ellen. She will always remember those moments she spent jamming with the legendary Stevie Vai. I'm sure she will look back on this footage in years to come and remember exactly how she felt back then. Just a perfect gentleman and still a killer guitarist.

Nili is already a renowned Guitarist and works on The Cirq Michael Jackson show, has had solo releases and is like 30 years old.... I think Steve wanted to jam with her as a contemporary because she is incredible not because he was trying to help her.

I love that he encouraged her to take her turn in the spot light instead of standing back on stage as most bass players do/are forced to do. Thank you Steve for encouraging and inspiring Ellen.
