Very helpful video! Thank you. I will need to try this. FYI , EcoFlow will stand by their product. I had to send 3 of their units back after using them over 3 years. They were 2 of the Delta Max 2000 first generation, and a River Pro. Their customer service is wonky and can be frustrating so the important thing here is patience. Send emails, serial numbers, date of purchase and where you bought it along with pictures and/or videos of problem. Wait 24 hours for email reply and repeat cycle like shampooing your hair. They sent me 3 shipping labels for freight pickup at home and was given a choice of repairing old unit or asking for a refurbished. The old unit would have a longer turn around time whereas the refurbish if it was in stock would be shipped immediately. I asked for refurbished they sent me 2 of them and the River Pro they did not have in stock so they sent me a new unit. For my troubles they sent me a free extension battery. All this was done on their dime. So EcoFlow rocks. All in all it took 3 weeks total time. Don't buy Pecron they make you pay for shipping.
Thanks for sharing! Definitely the warranty was one of the things that convinced us on buying the Delta Pro. Of course you don't want it to break in the first place, but a full 5 year warranty is more than enough time for us - wouldn't be surprised if we wanted something else by that time anyway, with how quick the battery market is innovating.
@@gabandbren Buy what you think you want or need now. Regardless of the outcome of the elections tariffs on Chinese products will be much more expensive and they have a market on lithium batteries. I buy EG4 server rack batteries which are 48V 5 kilowatt. Connect to your delta pro through the solar ports with battery cable and xt60 plug and extend running time of your unit by 5 kw . Less expensive than an extension battery.
I use a poe injector for my starlink and use a 48v electic bike battery to run it if my power goes out. Glad you got it working without having to send it in
Its great you guys were able to resolve the problem without having to buy a new one or return it back to the company. Thanks for the update and now I know what to do if I ever get that error code.😊
Mann I have thought about this! We have a few backup power banks for phones/laptops and stuff but nothing with 110 output. Might have to add this to my list 🤔
@@gabandbren on mine the Bluetooth works fine I have them at halfe charge since I don’t use them that much . And I slow charge them too not over heat the batteries .. next I need some solar panels ..
EcoFlow has been a very expensive bad experience. I purchased a delta flow ultra w/400w solar that i didn't try it out til day 30 when we got hit with the flood. It would power up with the solar panel and they keep saying they will get back to me. As of today, they still have not reached out.
Why wouldn’t you get to learn your product instead of waiting. U must learn your product and charge it up fully. They never send any product fully charged only 30 percent. Learn your product good luck
Thought it would update in a few minutes and be good. Didn’t say it would restart the device. In hindsight may seem silly but just thought it was a simple update
Some people don't, it's not required. It's similar to getting an update to a phone or something. It might include small bug fixes or things like that, but depends on the specific update!
The biggest Achilles heal with ecoflow is that they are all from China and their support works out of China which isn't even close nor does it align with USA times at all. Every technical issue is like pulling teeth and there's a lot lost in cultural/language issues/translation.
Luckily this has been the only problem we've faced so far, fingers crossed! 🤞 I have heard that Ecoflow US support is better than some other chinese battery brands though, can't say from personal experience 🤷♂️
Reaching out to ecoflow sucks.... I have the alternator charger, delta pro, and wave 2. I have had to send the pro in for repair their customer service is the best at sucking! I bought a wave 2 in August I'm on my 3rd one waiting on the 4th to get here. They have been bad out of the box. I'm sure they will expedite your claim and send it to there back office! I will never buy from ecoflow again. I have also heard the glacier fridge after a few month will just go into freezer mode at the lowest setting.
@gabandbren all of them worked great the 1st night. After that they would only blow 8°-10° blow the ambient temperature. This is know as a delta-T, the delta-T should not be lower than 20° from the ambient temperature and what is coming out of the a/c. At 8° below the ambient temperature is just a really expensive fan. I think their problem is the freon they use. It's a propane based freon. I'm my personal opinion it they could have used a lot better freon such as a freon for refrigeration but who am I to say what they should use. I just owned an air conditioning and heating company for 20 plus yrs. I should have done more research before I bought it.
@@egocheckerI've used Ecoflow for years and never had a single problem using them 24/7 outdoors year round for many years. Their after-sales service is also great.
It’s common sense that you never do an update on any product unless you know you have a solid Internet connection. This was 0% EcoFlow‘s fault 100% your fault. Obviously it was just a mistake, but you’re kind of implying that this was some sort of fault of the product.
I hear what you're saying, but we did START with a solid internet connection. Not blaming Ecoflow, but I think a simple message that says "The device will restart during this update" would be very effective. I didn't have the expectation that anything would have to turn off/reboot in order to update, but now we know for next time 😊
Ecoflow custom support is pathetic. I had this problem for a long time the told me to update it 3. Something and it will be ok. How do you update 3. Something from 5. Something. I had the same problem. So I plug in a 100w solar panel what I used on my Jackery’s. Oh every time I got this message was from overnight waking up to 0.00 when the night before with nothing plugged into it was always over 60% mostly in the 80%. I plug in a solar panel and instantly 80% back on my screen. So I bought the latest 400w solar panel comes in two HUGE 200w panels. Only one fits my 6 birth MotorHome but wow is it amazing don’t need nothing else. So now if this stupid error code comes in I just pull out the solar panel and put it back in. On contacting EcoFlow the told me to update I wrote back many times to get no reply. Being the IDIOT I am I bought the new Alternator for my EcoFlow Delta Pro yippee well except there is no inlet to fit the plugs from it. If I move to America I will be fine because ther Delta Pro 3600w comes with the adapter. EcoFlow support won’t answer any of those questions or emails. Great video thanks for sharing Ray K UK 🇬🇧 YNWA.
Thanks for sharing your experience, sounds like a lot! Hopefully they figure out how to improve this process in future products as it sounds like it's a common issue unfortunately :( Have been so happy with their products outside this experience, though!
Plenty of banter without ever seeing the unit or the issue . Please don't make any more senseless videos wasting people's time . And yes, I saw the 2 second screen shot of a display . So yeah maybe a 30 second video would suffice.
Sorry about that! Would’ve taken more footage as it was happening but we weren’t planning on making a video. Still thought it was a helpful tip to share though!
Problem solver, stop wasting your money on that chinese high frequency junk. Titan, from Point Zero Energy. The only low frequency units, true power, time tested, been #1 for yrs and still are. There new units are even better, there 240sp unit is 120v and 240v 4000w in 1 unit, modular, infinate expansion, built like a tank all steel, USA made and serviced. Thats if you ever have a problem.
@gabandbren high frequency is run by chipsets, they will take a power surge in the beginning, meaning if you have a motor that takes a high inrush of power before it stabilizes at its running power, but HF will burn out quickly in repeated actions like this are done, and they are not repairable, they are then trash. Low frequency is transformer based units, like our grid is formed, transformers, and they last a long time, can handle inrush current easily, over and over, and they are easily repairable. There's only one company that I'm aware of that make a portable unit in low frequency. Titan, from Point Zero Energy. I own 2, they are built like tanks, real power, super reliable. They have been the best for yrs,and still are. But they don't hand out units for review, they are US owned, and serviced right here in the US. I have there old units, they have even better now. Look at Point Zero Energy. Com, or wildoaktrail.com. There are a few other high end solar distributors that also sell the Titans. But the price is the same no matter where you buy. I like Wildoaktrail.com because they are near where the manufacturer is and they are a family owned business, they have live online help, they actually answer the phone, and they will be there available even after the sale. Rare these days. They sell many brands of solar generators, including Titans, but the Titans are the only low frequency portable solar generators, there are others on you tube that explain in depth how low frequency is the only way to go. Knowledge is power, power is low frequency

My philosophy is never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever do updates on anything ! .. from my long experience, updates are death.
Haha yeah it’s always a bit of a guessing game
Exactly, only update if you stand to gain important features, otherwise, don't!
I've never had a problem updating firmware with any of my Ecoflow units. I also don't use WiFi and simply update via 4G using the phone app.
Always have a River 2/3 handy for stuff like this. Have it power the Starlink before you do the update.

sometimes if you add or grow your setup, you have to update the firmware to compatible levels, depending on how old or new something is.
