Fair review, I personally like messing about in Sandboxes like this and l like the scenario of the game, so I'll be getting it but having played both betas I'm aware of it's shortcomings and would agree that anyone expecting a fully realised game will be disappointed.
Half of these reviews come from unfinished campaigns/exploration and barely any multiplayer. We know since the division that these are titles that develop through the years, everyone hated The Division at launch. Two years later, everyone started praising it after the amount of updates the devs tossed in. Same for most of Ubisoft sandbox titles.
It wasn’t designed to give you a good experience it was designed to be really grinding so that you would pay for boosters and level skips and other bullshit
As utterly unpopular as this opinion is, I'm genuinely having an absolute fcuking blast with this. That's not to say, that I completely understand the huge, and rightful criticism of this game. Excellent and accurate review as always ACG.
I heard that this has microtransactions out the @$$ and pay to win. Ubisoft is always in need of more money, even if it means screwing up their own games with their greed. Gonna be a hard pass for me dawg.gif Edit: why peeps mad lol
i'm gonna skip this for some reasons but honestly ppl need to stop with the P2W. yes, you can buy guns but this is mostly PVE, on PVP the guns are balanced, rarity gives a bit of an edge but nothing huge.
Damp Who fucking cares about the PVP? It was literally an update in the previous game. This is the meat of the game where most of the players are going to spend their time, and it’s where you get your gear to participate in PVP.
You heard wrong. There is no pay to win feature, since every weapon and npc is scaled to your own level, made exceptions for Elite troops and bosses. PvP is level scaled so no one is better than anyone else as well.
You are one of the only UA-camrs out of the 80 some channels I follow that pumps out 1440 resolution videos and I got to say it's appreciated muchly appreciated.
This is one of the only fair reviews of the game on youtube right now and this is coming from someone who pre ordered breakpoint and currently dont regret my purchase as im having loads of fun with the game and my friends. Atleast you didnt say its pay to win cuz thats just false and alot of these game reviewers are saying it is. That being said i definitely agree the game has problems and if they dont get fixed soon its going to turn alot of people off but i think overall if you liked wildlands you’ll definitely like breakpoint the immersion and customization is really solid most of the time especially if you can play with friends and you enjoy spec ops style games.
Best buy has it for $49 already. Plus 10 reward credit for preorder still active. I also still have the gamers unlocked discount. So after the $10 credit I will be in it $29 bucks. I can live with that.
@@juzeljames7793 if you liked wildlands, you'll enjoy this game. I like this game more, but that's because it improved on the things I didn't like about wildlands. It is fun.
I'm totally with you on the verdict. I want to play this game but not now, not like this. Just watched another video from a german video games magazine and they made similar and / or other points which, in the end and in addition to your video, solidified my decision. Ironically enough, "Breakpoint" is a fitting title for the game is a breakpoint in the series
Considering Ubi has like 60 different studios that work for it, it was probably a different team that didn't completely know what they were doing (at least for the sound design)
ACG is my go to for game reviews. So hard to find an honest and detailed overview of the latest titles. Keep up the good work... (I missed the 'eh' in this video btw man!)
This is what subscription based games look like, dev has no incentive to work harder or truly innovate when they get your $ anyway. Remember that before you sign up
This game is fun to play but you have to be aware of some of its pitfalls: You have to be online, not online, no play and still installs over 40Gb locally and still has to be online... somehow that does not make sense at all. Glitches galore even now, 6 or 7 months after. Touch a leaf of a tree with your rotor blade and poof your helicopter explodes or hangs upside down. Conveniently ALWAYS out of bullets no matter the gun. Behemoths are so easy to beat it or cheese that even I can defeat this game. Story mode, with some side missions, took about 60 hours. The AI is so bad, once you know what to do it is rinse and repeat, every mission take out the radio dude, use your remote drones to knock out the snipers or rocket dudes and turn the power off. There: 75% of the game is done. The worst part is that if you are in an intense battle and your internet drops there will be some curse words and again WHY?
I've been playing on immersive mode since the update and I think it's dope. It's definitely frustrating at times but you should check it out and maybe do another review. Awesome channel 👍
ACG that's awesome your thinking of the smaller content creator in your intro. Im not a content creator, but your the type of person who restores my faith in humanity....been a fan for a few years now, your always my first review...keep it up.
Thank you for this! I was about to trade in all my games and spend my last bread money to get this. But you've been my go to reviewer for years now and have been spot on with all the games I've been itching for. Good video and a great job. Thank you once again!
Not sure if anyone else found this same thing missing: in sound when I jump out of a helicopter there is NO SOUND which I found rather odd. Yea there were a lot of things that I did notice but couldn't ignore this one thing in particular. Thank goodness for getting it on sale
This is a fair review. Absolutely fair. I am so glad you at least said that this game is enjoyable at some aspect despite its many issues. Yeah, I agree it is better to wait for a sale and until the patches are up but I enjoyed the beta so much I just couldn't wait.
Thank you for always helping me make purchasing decisions and flooding me with great information. And for having tons of reviews out before the game comes out helps greatly! Thanks ACG.
quick suggestion, maybe when reviewing a game, at the end, give people your opinion for the best game in that genre? I was looking forward to this one, but after your points, I will give it a miss, but I would like a game of this type, so maybe throw us some ideas? Thanks for the great review as always, cheers
since before the ACG abbreviation days, you've always delivered a phenomenal script. your narration style is consistent and witty while also avoiding repetitiveness. you've got a serious gift for writing my friend. honestly
100% Agree!!! Your review was basically what i said in my review that i posted on their forums for feedback, when i played the BETA. But yeah, same as you, i would rather wait for a sale, but for me i dont think imma rush out and get it, as i like playing wastelands because you are a team, if i want solo combat ill play the division. I just think personally they messed up with breakpoint as like you said, i think they are still trying to either find an identity for the game or wildlands was just soo good that they are struggling to top it.
I honestly agree with just about everything that you said in your video, but I don’t regret spending the $119 on the ultimate edition. To me even though I’ve had to put up with a lot of glitches and irritating dialogue I’ve still had a ton of fun just wandering around killing and exploring.
The glitches must be a lot more relevant on PC. Im on Xbox one X and have had no glitches so far through 10+ hours of gameplay. Really enjoying this game so far. Still watched the review anyway just to support!
Hard Pass from me too bro. Sucks because I really liked Wildlands and I've been a huge fan of Jon Bernthal for a long time. I was so excited for this but the beta, monetization as well as graphics and cookie cutter bs just sucks. (Please don't F up Watch Dogs Legion Ubisoft)
one thing that really stood out to me on the Beta was the lack of punch in the sound of guns 10:50 is spot on...what happened? Why dont these companies just steal the AI from Metal Gear 5....best in the business
oh wow, that and the 2nd one were just so much damn fun! a remake of one or both would be like christmas, easter and getting your first lap dance all rolled into one.
I like how the camp tent is all camo and stuff to be unnoticeable, but you have a goddamn HELICOPTER next to it, like that's not gonna draw any attention!
4 days or so in, almost done the base PVE game solo - apart from the daily challenges. I would say rent unless you're invested in PVP or have a bunch of buds that are REALLY interested in this game.
Brilliant review. I agree with a lot here. Lots of potential for fun, with several issues that needs addressing in design and quality of work. That soft cover was made better in Wildlands, using the same shoulder button to switch directions while behind cover. Inexplicably, it’s not here, which makes the cover system clunky AF.
I enjoy the crispy and snappy sounds of the guns here, found it more immersive. Rpg elements here are great. It’s a tactical rpg - ish shooter and it does a good job.

Logic. Man falls extra 2 feet=injured leg. Man crashes airplane into tree="that tickled"
ya lol. Not even sure what happened there
@@ACGreviews It wasn't even the correct wing that broke off.
That is something I'll never understand. How is that a thing in wildlands and not fixed by the time the next game is released?
Best part: the wing crashed from a few bushes lol
The game world looks absolutely dead and lifeless. Damn Ubisoft, great job.
Is there radio station in Breakpoint!? Like there was in Wildlands with DJ Pericho? LMAO!
This DJ was fucking HILARIOUS! 🤣
All ubi games feel that way now, with all the funds they have it's incredible. All their games are so repetitive and unimpressive with no attention to details, cool concepts but too rushed just for cash.
And they still make a lot of money off of it because people have no standards
@Gus Grime So there is wildlife in this game? I'm 3 hours in and didn't see any. .
@@metalnat27 nah there's nothing like that in this game
The fact you said to people to go support and subscribe other youtubers. So much respect and adoration for you for that. Definitely have another subscriber
I really like how Karak encourages us to check out other smaller channels. It's a small, simple gesture, that goes a long way.
This almost seems like a budget title.... only its not.
It wasn’t designed to give you a good experience it was designed to be really grinding so that you would pay for boosters and level skips and other bullshit
Leonard Silvia Ubisoft tittles in a nutshell
It's like a free-to-play title with a $60 entry fee with how aggressively it's monetized.
@@huskytzu7709 damn.... I love tittles

As utterly unpopular as this opinion is, I'm genuinely having an absolute fcuking blast with this. That's not to say, that I completely understand the huge, and rightful criticism of this game.
Excellent and accurate review as always ACG.
Not unpopular with me; I totally agree. Really enjoying my time with this so far.
Go to your room and think about what you've just said!
@@nightplague256 On my way.... Shoulders down and shame shuffling..

*Smashes head first on a rock* "Suspicious noise" lmao
I heard that this has microtransactions out the @$$ and pay to win. Ubisoft is always in need of more money, even if it means screwing up their own games with their greed.
Gonna be a hard pass for me dawg.gif
Edit: why peeps mad lol
i'm gonna skip this for some reasons but honestly ppl need to stop with the P2W. yes, you can buy guns but this is mostly PVE, on PVP the guns are balanced, rarity gives a bit of an edge but nothing huge.
It is i was going to get it today but not now. Definently waiting for sale.
Damp
Who fucking cares about the PVP? It was literally an update in the previous game. This is the meat of the game where most of the players are going to spend their time, and it’s where you get your gear to participate in PVP.
yeah pay to win blabla it's a really good game forget about microtransactions this is not a bloody fps like bf5 or cod c'mon
You heard wrong.
There is no pay to win feature, since every weapon and npc is scaled to your own level, made exceptions for Elite troops and bosses.
PvP is level scaled so no one is better than anyone else as well.
“It’s just a chair in the corner with really fucked up legs.” 😂😂😂
Not playing or buying this game.
Jack Reacher who cares
You are one of the only UA-camrs out of the 80 some channels I follow that pumps out 1440 resolution videos and I got to say it's appreciated muchly appreciated.
UBI always trying hard to find your wallet's breakpoint...
Same with every other game lol
Man there’s only four things you can buy with real money right now. And all of those things can be acquired through playing th game
Ghost Recon: Broken!
ACG just learned the word "Decidedly"
I honestly liked Wildlands more. I am glad I didn't waste my money on this.
How did you like wildlands more when you didn't play this one?
@@trignite lmao
Best buy has it for $49 already. Plus 10 reward credit for preorder still active. I also still have the gamers unlocked discount. So after the $10 credit I will be in it $29 bucks. I can live with that.
Holy crap you're right lol the game is not even officially out yet and it's already being discounted
This is such a weird game to review cause there’s so much wrong with the game but it’s still enjoyable
Ikr. I had the same feeling with Wildlands.
are u going to buy it? should I buy it?
@@juzeljames7793 if you liked wildlands, you'll enjoy this game. I like this game more, but that's because it improved on the things I didn't like about wildlands. It is fun.
cool thanks I'm going to pick it up
@@juzeljames7793 don't go off on one guys opinion of the internet rofl do your own homework
I wonder; how did they manage to make the sounds, the graphics and the models worse than Wildlands? Did they make this game before and shelve it?
Considering Ubi has like 60 different studios that work for it, it was probably a different team that didn't completely know what they were doing (at least for the sound design)
ACG is my go to for game reviews. So hard to find an honest and detailed overview of the latest titles. Keep up the good work...
(I missed the 'eh' in this video btw man!)
This is what subscription based games look like, dev has no incentive to work harder or truly innovate when they get your $ anyway. Remember that before you sign up
I think the devs do in many cases. But when it comes to the publisher...
Exactly
The devs aren’t the ones in charge.
Im not a content creator, but your the type of person who restores my faith in humanity....been a fan for a few years now, your always my first review...keep it up.
what? they cut the team? you are kiddin right? they made the realisitcesque GR series int bulletsponge/gearscore hell? Jesus Christ Ubisoft....
For real, if I wanted to play the Division, I'd play the Division.
even if an enemy is much higher than you one headshot still does the trick
Thank you for this! I was about to trade in all my games and spend my last bread money to get this. But you've been my go to reviewer for years now and have been spot on with all the games I've been itching for. Good video and a great job. Thank you once again!
Yay the intro is back. A like just for that!
Not sure if anyone else found this same thing missing: in sound when I jump out of a helicopter there is NO SOUND which I found rather odd. Yea there were a lot of things that I did notice but couldn't ignore this one thing in particular. Thank goodness for getting it on sale
I regret buying this and I’m only 10 minutes on
Knight serves you for buying a Ubi game at launch
is it anything like wildlands or is wildlands better?
@Bob Brock literally?
Bob Brock awesome response bro. props to you.
Chris Lefty wildlands is better

I swear GRAW2 looked better back on the 360.
Oh the memories. That was my first gr and how much it made me swear. Dark souls my arse.
GRAW2 is my favorite GR game ever.
Gonna be real with you, graw on the console never was a looker to begin with
You might need to get your eyes checked mate.
Nah, Breakpoint is a gorgeous looking game. Graw looked okay for the time but didn't age too well
This is a fair review. Absolutely fair. I am so glad you at least said that this game is enjoyable at some aspect despite its many issues. Yeah, I agree it is better to wait for a sale and until the patches are up but I enjoyed the beta so much I just couldn't wait.
Yep another unfinished, half-assed game from ubisoft lol I'll pass once again.
That's all they've been making recently.
Thank you for always helping me make purchasing decisions and flooding me with great information. And for having tons of reviews out before the game comes out helps greatly! Thanks ACG.
quick suggestion, maybe when reviewing a game, at the end, give people your opinion for the best game in that genre?
I was looking forward to this one, but after your points, I will give it a miss,
but I would like a game of this type, so maybe throw us some ideas?
Thanks for the great review as always, cheers
@Eriko. Oy I have done JC, found it a bit repetitive after a while, not tried MGS5, I will give it a try, thanks :)
MGSV, the rainbow six Las Vegas games
since before the ACG abbreviation days, you've always delivered a phenomenal script. your narration style is consistent and witty while also avoiding repetitiveness. you've got a serious gift for writing my friend. honestly
I think the game is fine. Has problems but it's fine
Man I miss the team aspect. Great video
This looked nothing like the announcement demo lol, gotta love Ubisoft
Remember Watchdogs pre release ingame footage? lol
The sound has always been good in Ubisoft games if you have a good gaming headset.
The only payed stuff that you can’t get by playing the game is cosmetic items, everything else you can get by playing the game
Thank you for not focusing so hard on the microtransactions. I wanted to know what the actual game was like.
Trash there you go. Also your wallet will reach Breakpoint.
I honestly agree with just about everything that you said in your video, but I don’t regret spending the $119 on the ultimate edition. To me even though I’ve had to put up with a lot of glitches and irritating dialogue I’ve still had a ton of fun just wandering around killing and exploring.
I’ve been waiting for your review on this game ACG. When it comes to triple A titles, I feel you’re the most honest. Thanks.
The glitches must be a lot more relevant on PC. Im on Xbox one X and have had no glitches so far through 10+ hours of gameplay. Really enjoying this game so far. Still watched the review anyway just to support!
I loved Wildlands, but after playing the beta and then seeing the ridiculous monetization, I'm deeply disappointed and have to pass on this.
Seems like a 2019 less fun version of mercenaries smh if only mercenaries came out today 😩
Man I miss that game underrated as hell
oh wow, that and the 2nd one were just so much damn fun! a remake of one or both would be like christmas, easter and getting your first lap dance all rolled into one.
I loved that game, it was a blast, the second i think was a little bit better
Jonathan Pena the first one was great. The second one had a lot of glitches from what I remember but it was still fun
I still have that game.... if only I could find my playstation in storage lol
I like how the camp tent is all camo and stuff to be unnoticeable, but you have a goddamn HELICOPTER next to it, like that's not gonna draw any attention!
Sigh. Exactly what I expected. Riddled with microtransactions (they're just getting worse) uninspired and bland. Pass.
4 days or so in, almost done the base PVE game solo - apart from the daily challenges. I would say rent unless you're invested in PVP or have a bunch of buds that are REALLY interested in this game.
Haha your character looks kinda like a young Mark Hamill
Man i was waiting for this video 😎
lol looks like him in wing commander
Mark hammel has always looked like a 50 yearold man
I was gonna say it looked like Casper Van Dien to me.
Awesome was waiting for this review.
0:43 So nice man ! it shows how humble you are , im already a subscriber for a while but this is nice of u !
This game wasnt ready for release.
I enjoy the crispy and snappy sounds of the guns here, found it more immersive. Rpg elements here are great. It’s a tactical rpg - ish shooter and it does a good job.
