I'm surprised you've mentioned the color palette, comparing it to the one of Origins. There it seemed very organic, lifelike and tasteful, while in everything I've seen about this game both the coloring work and the world design are just quantity for quantity's sake, eye-popping and with little sense of style or scale. However, got to see it first-hand to make any judgement, thanks for the review!

The game is vast. There is so much to explore in the world map with so many things you can do. I am literally playing almost all the side missions all the while exploring both land and sea alike. I reached and out leveled the main mission by doing literally almost every mission this game has to offer. No rush here trying to beat the main story. I am enjoying the game. It's been a long time since I found a game that's worth my time and day. This game has caught my full attention. Every assassin's games I've played and owned doesn't come close to this, although I've enjoyed every single one of them.

Good to see the mechanics of Metal Gear Solid V finally showing up in other games. Helping a guy up is much less fulfilling than tying a balloon to their foot to be scooped up by a passing airplane, but maybe a little more motivating to have them join your cause.
Man, I feel like you're one of the few guys who actually objectively reviewed the game instead of "It's Ubisoft, guys let's hate it because for reasons!!!" Well, done, dude!
I didn't enjoy origins at all so I have no idea if I want this game or not. My biggest gripe with origins was the fake progression system. Having quests tied to levels to the point that enemies 3 levels above you 1 hit you, hindering any real exploration. That and a weak story.
I haven't played it I won't like the story like I'm not saying it's bad it's probably good but they messed with the story in its core it's not rpg it's not as good anymore as a.c. games
Jesus Christ, how do you manage to play all these games so intensively that you can deliver reviews so in depth and on the point? I am really impressed by your passion.
Someones never heard of being shanghaied, A portion of the British Navy in the 16-17-18th century's were forcefully "recruited" at taverns after they were passed out drunk, only to awaken on a ship already at sea and over the horizon the next morning. (other nations often used the practice also) The practice was especially common if a ship was going to be traveling a dangerous route to the new world (Americas.) Or heading into pirate-infested waters.
You may be right about the map as a whole, but there are two huge deserts in Origins that the campaign doesn't even feature, in fact if you don't explore much outside the campaign the map is a nice mix of desert, oases, swamps, cities, mountains and forests. Personally, I think it's one of if not the most beuatiful open worlds I've ever played. Cyrene, Memphis, Alexandria and Siwa are all breathtakingly gorgeous. But that's just my opinion.
I bet that GoT will be good but it doesn't take away at all from me craving an AC game in China or Japan. Ubisoft does such incredible world building, I need to see their version of it in an AC style. Definite buy for me if it's as good as Origins and Odyssey.
If they make a Japanese Assassin's Creed that perfects this new formula, it'd most likely be an amazing game. Assassin's Creed is heading in the Witcher direction and I'm loving it.
Been playing it for a few hours now (thanks to using a VPN, New Zealand), and I must say I am shocked at just how good of a job Ubisoft have done with the difficulty setting. Putting the difficulty to Nightmare makes the game really hard BUT it isn't in that frustrating way where everything just feels cheap and unfair (look no further than Ghost Recon Wildlands to see just how outrageously lazy it can get with Ubisoft). I am getting my ass handed to me in the beginning hours, but the battles do feel rewarding, you get better and you learn to handle yourself - surprisingly similar to Dark Souls, if one is allowed to say that. Fights with multiple enemies are a real puzzle to deal with, but it IS possible. So much more fun than previous AC titles. The Exploration mode is an awesome new addition, keeping some information from you so you really do need to explore a little. This must be a Ubisoft first. Really refreshing. Also happy that the choice/consequences don't seem to be too obvious. Being nice isn't always rewarded, and that is great. Especially when playing on Hardcore, where you never know if sparing the lives of some enemies might cause a fight with a bigger mob later down the line. Great stuff so far.
@@gmicros hmmm, I can't say it runs amazingly. But not terribly either. I have a 1070 and I'm not nearly using up all my VRAM according to the options menu but I mostly get between 50 and 65fps with most settings (but not all) maxed. Playable, but it would be nice to have it more stable. Game does look great though.
I would love to see a Black Flag remake with AC Origins/Odyssey mechanics. Great game, but still hampered by the old infuriating AC combat mechanics. I think they really nailed it with these new games.
The gameplay looks so much fun to me. And that endless discussion if it’s an AC game or not... It doesn’t matter to me, if it’s great as a standalone game I’ll gladly take it and it sure looks like it is. I know I’m a little late, but while everyone is frustrated playing Sekiro now I’m gonna enjoy my time with AC Odyssey!
I got it on pc today in the Steam winter sale for about $25. I am only three or four hours in so far and I am really enjoying it so far. It runs 60+ fps at 1920x1200 at ultra high defaults. I have a 7700k and 1080 both at stock speeds along with 16gb ram.
Played 70 hours and then wrapped up the main story. Fantastic game. Replaced Black Flag as my favorite AC. Word of advice to anyone starting for the first time, pick Kassandra.
i honestly cannot wait for this game. i know RDR2 is the main focus of many people but i dont feel more hyped for it, Odyssey has everything i like in a game.
@@HULK-HOGAN1 I enjoyed Black Flag & the pirate stuff. I didn't really care for the AC part & I hated being yanked out of the pirate life to modern day segments.
I don't know how you do what you do man. It took me 3 weeks just to beat Spiderman lol very few games can hold my attention these days past an hour at a time.
Been waiting for this review. Still having a lot of fun with Origins. The exploration is top notch. Was pleasantly surprised by the "gift from the gods" reward I received over the weekend.
I like this review. As for the game, it looks awesome; anyway, I've already pre-ordered it given the high quality of Origins and the nice time I'm having with it. I'll say only this: I have a great respect for the developers who create single-player only games, that is real craftsmanship.
I will for sure get this game at some point. On Black Friday.. On X-mas.. or even next year (if they will ever do a Complete Edition) But I am interested in this one so I will end up getting it (dunno exactly when.. But I will get it haha)
At midnight if you bought at the Ubisoft store, somewhat later if you bought the game via steam ( 6pm ) - according to german PCGH. www.pcgameshardware.de/Assassins-Creed-Odyssey-Spiel-61696/News/Details-zum-Pre-Load-und-Early-Access-1266213/
There will always be more people that enjoy playing a character were you can choose your class and style than being forced into stealth only. Ubi Soft knew that by changing the style of Assassin Creed games into an open world RpG with the option to choose what class you want and not just an assassin with stealth, that there Fan base would more than triple. From the 25 years experience playing, rpgs, multiplayer or Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) i have seen more people play a tank, ranged melee dps, or close ranged dps than a stealth assassin class. I have seen all most as many people play a healer/Priest class as a stealth class. Rogues and assassins will always have a meaningful and needed roll in all rpgs, but games that only let you be an assassin and no other roll or class will never ever be more popular than a game thats an open world RpG that lets your decide your class style. The developers at Ubi Soft i think know what kinda game the people want, yes there is people upset that the style of Assassin creed has changed, but 10X the people love the change. Loosing 100k Assassin Creed fans is no big deal when your gaining 10 million new fans LoL
Definitely want this one but I still have Origins dlc to beat. Thank God they're taking a one year hiatus from these games so I have time to beat that and pick it up during a sale while at the same time playing RDR2 and spider man.
Correction : There will not be any new entry intro the series for year 2019, however, Ubisoft intends to make Odyssey as a Game As A Service, meaning, it's content will grow with time. And it's already underway : two new chapters, consisting of 6 (or 3 ? might be wrong there) episodes each. More details here: news.ubisoft.com/article/Assassins-Creed-Odyssey-Post-Launch-Details-Revealed Anyway, all in all, they want you to "enjoy" this AC game for "many years" Guillemot said in a French interview. So for a new AC entry, we will have to wait for 2020 I guess.
on sale on ps4 marketplace for 23$ canadian :) this is why i no longer buy games at full price.. Just wait four months and the game is priced, based on what its worth.
@Wraithic Artistry My problem there is that the phalanx isn't even in the game. Wtf. You ought to be able to call up a phalanx formation with your recruits in battle, and the other side should too. It's the primary way Greeks fought, particularly Spartans. They had some of the longest spears and worked exceptionally well as a unit. It's how they held out so long at the Battle of the 300.
I mean they made a female the Cannon character in this game, that is treated justcmen would be, which is ridiculous. You shouldn’t be surprised by the shield. It’s a good game though.
@@cindercatz Well, most of the ancient world fought in phalanx formations. It wasn't particularly unique to the Spartans. It was a tactic that was used until the Romans abandoned it and changed the way war was fought. Which is one reason the Romans conquered the Spartans. At the battle of Thermopylae, or the battle of 300, as you put it, was not actually fought with only 300 Spartans. They were aided by 1,000 Athenians. The movie 300 is just an inaccurate Hollywood dramatization. In fact, during the time period of 480 ( battle of Thermopylae ) and Odyssey takes place, most Spartans abondoned the Corinthian helmet and muscle curiass you see most of them wearing in most reinactments.
ACG I thought it looked a little stiff and not so fluid, which is rather common in RPGs such as Witcher III, 3rd Person Skyrim/Elder Scrolls, Fallout etc.
Truly, to me, AC has always been about admiring the different time periods in history and the architecture/art styles that encompass those cultures and periods. And you do this through climbing and parkour. Which has always been a part of every AC game. As long as that’s an integral part of the gameplay, I’ll remain a casual fan.
Never got into this series. But I am a diehard role playing game enthusiast and to be honest I only clicked on this review as something to listen to while I puttered around my kitchen. After watching your review I figured what the hell it was worth a rental from game fly. I am 20 hours in and I have been completely blown away. Somethings are a little off like you say but is a stunning looking game as far as graphics go and sound for that matter. And what a huge and rich open world of ancient Greece. This game holds its own for me with even the classic RPGs. So many quests and so much fun to be had. And half the time I will be in a middle of a quest and I will have to stop and look around because the environment is so gorgeous.
I do love single player RPGs. And finishing a long one is a fun challenge. (Try Kingdoms of Amateur : Reckoning). So for me, this is a must own. Time to put Skyrim and Witcher 3 to bed.
Man i really hope the next AC games goes back to its roots to a more stealth focus, it feels like its lost its identity, it just doesnt look like a AC game anymore. rather they just had made this game with a different name.
michael martins no this game is fun as hell they need to make it more like this and better the original ac is just boring and bland it was great then but horrible now
The older games were great. All these people who never got 'em in the first place, yet you love the changes because it's just like every other hack 'n slash ARPG now. Pretty, mediocre, built to mtx.
EmpuGaming Same. Im just not the biggest fan of button spamming. Im always trying to strategize and take everybody out one by one. I feel like its more fun that way.
Got it on sale $30 and man I didnt know Id like it so much. Its actual worth $60. I spent 10 hours on one island doing missions and exploring. Completely forgot all the Naval travel. Bottom line they are many games that Ubisoft took points from. 1. The Witcher- It just feels like it. 2. Destiny- Menu navigation&Loot systems. 3. AC: Black Flag- Ship travel 4. Nemesis System == Mercenary System. 5. Tom Clancy's: Borderlands- Cultist System
Never? I'm pretty sure the answer is never. I mean, the game tells you it's Assassins vs. Templar, and it has EDEN lore, but they could just as easily called it something else.
If you dont follow the lore ,stop commenting on it blindly like a hipster on hate bandwagon. play the all the games and dlc's, atleast the main story to understand where it actually connects to Order Vs Freedom struggle and how it goes back to isu civilization.
Pretty sure what is going on is Ubisoft is starting to tell the stories of the Assassin's that changed the course of history according to Ezio's Uncle Mario. If you remember in the mansion basement there were 6 statues. I believe from here on Ubisoft will start to tell the stories of each of those statues. I believe Bayek's wife Aya was one of those statues. We will see! Personally I am very excited where the franchise is headed.
Plenty of games change formula, and its not that big of a departure as origins, now its mostly assassins creed 3 but a revamped combat system and not a button masher.
Come on, people can't possibly be THAT nostalgic about the franchise can they? Better to carry on with the brand name and get rid of all the dumb shit that made me hate the games than keep having to go with the shitty animus storylines.
I am playing in exploration mode and I love it. You can kind of tell where the main story is, but it's not entirely clear. There's no guidance or script, so you just play the game more naturally as you want to take it. I absolutely love it.
This may be the greatest review I’ve come across. Concise, to the point, and covers everything. This is my favorite franchise. Origins gave me hope but I admit I was hesitant seeing as origins is barely a year old. You’ve convinced me tho so good on ya. Thanks
I have to disagree, regarding the setting of the game. Ancient Greece is an amazing place to visit with tons of historical figures to meet... The only let down for this game are the micritransactions which I hate. Apart from that, I can really see the effort and attention to detail that was put on this game. AMAZING (IMO)
@@ACGreviews Ahaha. Sorry, forgot to mention. In my opinion ancient Greece is a better setting than Egypt, but this is totally subjective...In any case, I love your chanel and it is supercool that you replied. Sorry if I misunderstood anything from your review, but I watched it while exausted. .. Since you are seeing this, I just want to say thanks. You must put hours and hours on this review and I would like to say that it is really appreciated that I can get all this content for free. I might disagree with you sometimes, but then again I didn't come here to hear someone saying my opinion..So thanks for the content and keep up the great work :)
Ya we agree this is a better setting. I also feel that this is a more enjoyable and varied spot. My warning to folks was that if they expect the majesty and sometimes magical qualities of Origins they may be disappointed.
@@ACGreviews Sorry, I got you wrong, my bad...I think this might be one my favourite assassins creed games. however, as you mentioned the micritransactions are influencing the experience. If there were no micritransactions in Odyssey, then it would be my favourite ac game... Once again thank you for replying and sorry for musunderstanding what you said.
This game was in production for the past 3 years. It was being made along side Origins so it isn't milked. I have played it for 15 hours already and it is SOOOOO much better than Origins.
It ain't fallout if da brotherhood ain't there in it, they even confirmed there being no human NPCs, don't get fallout, the world and the monsters are there but the stuff that makes fallout, fallout aren't.
I am a big fan of the series, this last years asscreed games dissapointed me a lot, but this game is just really good, i picked it up one week ago and i can´t stop playing it, i really recommend it.
The thing abt ubisoft games for me is that I can never finish them. They're fun at first but then get boring to the point that i dont even bother finishing the story... it has happened with every title since AC syndicate...
Ditto. Honestly, the only two games I have finished were AC I and Black Flag. I couldn't even finish AC II for crying outloud. All AC games are so grindy and from what I am hearing(haven't played one since BF) it's gotten an order of magnitude worse.
Very balanced and honest review, as are all of yours. I adore ACO, its the only AC game iv'e ever felt like playing, ''Odyssey '' looks like being my second. Cool.
Yeah, I managed to beat him, but it took all of my arrows. The Ramesses shadow in Thebes was worse imo. I died three times trying to kil him, and he only spawns at random intervals in the city. This means you die -> you have to wait.
Can we not ignore the bendy metal armor? The armor is part of the character models, so despite it being solid metal, it bends quite a bit when the character moves. Ryse did the armor WAY better.
Best AC game i played (including Origins)...graphics, story (so far), world, characters etc. everything is so smooth and beautiful...highly recommending this game for AC fans...
I recommend this game for Witcher fans. Not AC fans. This game has little to nothing to do with the Assassins or their creed. Not saying it's a good or bad game, just not an AC game.
Goran Maksimovic really? There is a lot of filler content. I prefer origins because of the setting and the main character bayek also it has a better story.
I really wish that in the next AC game they really explore stealth systems. As much as the new combat system is fun as well as the RPG system's, Ubisoft has not done much with the stealth mechanics and I really wish they would
Heard this was a good game (I liked the black flag AC) that took alot of cues from the witcher 3 (best game ever) gonna pick it up on steam when they got it on sale.
After Black Flag I just straight up lost touch with AC games. They no longer interest me, until now that is. I've got a special place in my heart for ancient Greece themed stuff after all. I'll patiently wait for a nice sale with this one. This looks promising enough.
The only AC game I ever played was black flag and I found it only mediocre. AC:Odyssey is flat an incredible game. One of the best I've ever played and I play a lot of games. Beautiful visuals, great storytelling, fantastic combat, smart rpg progression and loot, plus a level of polish and attention to detail that has few peers. It's a great game and easily worth the asking price. I've been at it for 200 hours, I'm not yet done with the mainline story, and I'm not even remotely bored. Playing on hard and the challenge vs reward mix is just perfect.
Honestly, I stopped playing all AC games after Black Flag too. But I got Odyssey for christmas and I've been playing it nonstop for a couple days now. it's so fucking good
I always enjoy your vids. I usually have to run it at 0.75 speed to really appreciate your funny quips though. I will definitely pick this up since my fiancé wants it too.
I really loved this review, you did such a good job as always. One thing I’d add though, is the abilities in this game are pretty much ALL good and you can really tailor your abilities to you own play style. If you want to stealth one shot people you can upgrade abilities to do that, and if you want to just tank damage and slay people like a proper mercenary, you can do that as well. The abilities in the game are really helpful and the way you customise your gear can also help your abilities be more effective furthering your play style. It’s actually insane coming from an AC game to me. Definitely a pleasant surprise from the series
I absolutely love this game. I do have to say..the easy mode, isn't that easy. At least for me.I'm at 123 hrs and been taking time, just found my mother..lol but doing other stuff and things is fun.and it's beautiful on the Xbox onex, sometimes I just ride my unicorn around mountains picking up stuff for the view😁.. really have had no game problems.

Jesus Christ, how do you manage to play all these games so intensively that you can deliver reviews so in depth and on the point? I am really impressed by your passion.
Kassandra's voice acting was fantastic and the general consensus is to play as her if you care about the acting.
'Here , hold this for a second' 😂😂😂😂
I died faster than he did LMAO
If someone punched me out, woke me up and gave me a job on a ship I'd be fine with that, lol.
Back in those days they don't check your resume.
Go hang out on the docks in a third world country your wish might come true
You know it’s not too difficult to actually get a job at sea, why not try...
Have worked aboard multiple ships. Be careful what you wish for.
Hahaha the Pantheon edition "should come with a questionnaire that asks if you know what money is". 😂😂😂
this is gonna decide if i buy this game here we go

Black Friday is next month and the game might be 50% off. Boxing day a month after that and possibly even cheaper.
I bought the ultimate edition!!!
DevilGames smart buy and wait while they patch up
Smart move. And kudos for not pre ordering and actually waiting to give them your money.
To me ancient greece is far more interesting than ancient Egypt. Origins was just desert mainly.
What's funny is ancient Egypt didn't have tha much sand lol
Lol have you played origin atleast ? Not even half of the map is desertic, the rest is swamp, forest, mountain, sea and cities
Hold your tongue peasant!! Egypt is the shit boyo!!
Did you guys like the Pre-order the expensive versions and play 3 days before?
Lmao Origins didn't have as much desert as you're making it sound
Now with how polished odyssey looks I REALLY hope we can get the long awaited Assassin's Creed game in Japan
Don't. We are already getting an excellent AC esque game in Japan. Ghost of Tsushima.
IndianTelephone another one doesn’t hurt. I’ve been waiting for a japan based ac game since ac3
I bet that GoT will be good but it doesn't take away at all from me craving an AC game in China or Japan. Ubisoft does such incredible world building, I need to see their version of it in an AC style. Definite buy for me if it's as good as Origins and Odyssey.
There's no point now, since AC is now a silly hack n slash game and not a stealth assassin game-a play style that would fit a japanese ninja.
100000%
Does it run good on pc?
@@gmicros hmmm, I can't say it runs amazingly. But not terribly either. I have a 1070 and I'm not nearly using up all my VRAM according to the options menu but I mostly get between 50 and 65fps with most settings (but not all) maxed. Playable, but it would be nice to have it more stable. Game does look great though.
Oh God the psychic enemies in Wildlands that instantly knew where you were were the worst.
Our timezone does have a few benefits lol :P
@@Sannoso and their hitscan instahit weapons...
I would love to see a Black Flag remake with AC Origins/Odyssey mechanics. Great game, but still hampered by the old infuriating AC combat mechanics. I think they really nailed it with these new games.
0:57 "Here, hold this for a second..." I lol'd hard.
The fact that you said the ending is good makes me way more interested in this game.
Favorite one
I got it on pc today in the Steam winter sale for about $25. I am only three or four hours in so far and I am really enjoying it so far. It runs 60+ fps at 1920x1200 at ultra high defaults. I have a 7700k and 1080 both at stock speeds along with 16gb ram.
Played 70 hours and then wrapped up the main story. Fantastic game. Replaced Black Flag as my favorite AC. Word of advice to anyone starting for the first time, pick Kassandra.
Why Kassandra?
Best voice acting i’ve Heard.
@@JonnSnoww-m3f kassandra has a better voice actor, alexios sounds a little exaggerated

i honestly cannot wait for this game. i know RDR2 is the main focus of many people but i dont feel more hyped for it, Odyssey has everything i like in a game.
Wait till the reviews for RDR2 come in and it will be

Ima get rdr. But I feel you. I'm definitely not feening for it like most people are.
Did you play the first RDR? Find it hard to believe someone finishing that game and not being hyped for the sequel.
Odyssey - RPG spartan game
RDR2 - not RPG western game
Haven't played an AC games since Black Flag, I might pick this one up, thanks for the detailed review.
@@HULK-HOGAN1 I enjoyed Black Flag & the pirate stuff. I didn't really care for the AC part & I hated being yanked out of the pirate life to modern day segments.
The two protagonists look really fricken amazing, especially Cassandra. Wow!

I completely forgot this was coming out
Well shit... too many games coming out, can't blame ya.
RDR2 got my money for October, maybe I’ll pick this up later

Thank God they're taking a one year hiatus from these games so I have time to beat that and pick it up during a sale while at the same time playing RDR2 and spider man.
they only talk a year off to make origins now there back to every year this is out this month
More details here: news.ubisoft.com/article/Assassins-Creed-Odyssey-Post-Launch-Details-Revealed
Anyway, all in all, they want you to "enjoy" this AC game for "many years" Guillemot said in a French interview.
So for a new AC entry, we will have to wait for 2020 I guess.
Karl Massie nah if ubisoft is taking break or putting more development time then expect big changes.... like what they did to origins
@@289kman no, they are not they said some would be out the year after and others will have a year or two interval. Research bruh.

Dude. Buy a pc I own a ps2, ps3, ps4, and a ps4 pro. Switched to pc in late 2017. It is fucking amazing. Crazy deals on steam also.
Am I the only one who was bored of naval combat. To me, it's like the stealth missions in Spiderman. Just trying to get it over with.
They actually excluded shields? You play a Greek warrior and not use a Hoplon? WTF!!??
I would much rather have a shield/blocking then the silly rolling around/dodging.
Rolling in real combat would get you laughed at and killed rather quickly. Shield is more practical, even a small buckler one.
I don’t know about anyone else, but do the walking and running animations appear a bit “off” in comparison to previous games in the series?
yes the walking looks a bit funky until later in the game when its sort of addressed for Alexio o
they move like AC syndicate
ACG
I thought it looked a little stiff and not so fluid, which is rather common in RPGs such as Witcher III, 3rd Person Skyrim/Elder Scrolls, Fallout etc.
It looks fine.
Idk everyone keeps saying that and I don’t really notice it.
So damn hyped for Friday! Origins was great, this looks even better

The only review worth watching.

Excited for this review!! Can't wait. ACG is the best.
@@cindercatz No the counter combat only works for Spiderman and Batman. Not an Assassin. And Origins is what made the franchise had meaning again.
Im playing a sneaky backstabber in this game, 100% viable :)
3. AC: Black Flag- Ship travel
4. Nemesis System == Mercenary System.
5. Tom Clancy's: Borderlands- Cultist System
That Mark Mcgwire comment had my dying laughing.
glad you liked it man
I finally found another positive review other than IGNs, after watching dunky's and angery joe's reviews I thought I was crazy for liking this game
I mean, it's a great Ancient Greece game, but not a good Assassin's Creed game.
The engine this game runs on would be amazingly great for a new Witcher game! 😍
I really want Black Flag remastered. Easily one of my favorite games of all time and a remaster with new mechanics would be great.
Where does the Assassins Creed part actually come into the game?
Never? I'm pretty sure the answer is never. I mean, the game tells you it's Assassins vs. Templar, and it has EDEN lore, but they could just as easily called it something else.
Nowhere that’s why it’s good and origins is the best in the series don’t deny it you can’t
Phantom H4nd the lore turned into absolute shit
Didn't know Chris D'Elia was one of the main characters in AC:O(dyssey?)
I loved origins so I’ll be playing this. Sucks there’s too many games I can’t keep up :(
too many games, not enough time.
Now just stop calling them assassins creed....
ASSASINs..gang. ASSASSASATORIANS! Gladatorians creed?🐵
Plenty of games change formula, and its not that big of a departure as origins, now its mostly assassins creed 3 but a revamped combat system and not a button masher.
Why? It's assassins creed.
Come on, people can't possibly be THAT nostalgic about the franchise can they? Better to carry on with the brand name and get rid of all the dumb shit that made me hate the games than keep having to go with the shitty animus storylines.
YouCan'tHateMeMoreThaniHateMyself ffs it doesnt need to be about assassins kid. Get it through your head
Thanks

The only reviews that ever matter. Thank you Karak
I have to disagree, regarding the setting of the game. Ancient Greece is an amazing place to visit with tons of historical figures to meet... The only let down for this game are the micritransactions which I hate. Apart from that, I can really see the effort and attention to detail that was put on this game. AMAZING (IMO)
who are you disagreeing with?
My warning to folks was that if they expect the majesty and sometimes magical qualities of Origins they may be disappointed.
and thanks!
I don‘t know what i should think about a new ac within one year. I‘m going for red dead 2 this month. Next month for fallout.
I say wait til at least Dec, if not longer, so by the time you start most of the early bugs have been patched.

Anybody else just buy the ultimate edition for $50 on PS4?
The thing abt ubisoft games for me is that I can never finish them. They're fun at first but then get boring to the point that i dont even bother finishing the story... it has happened with every title since AC syndicate...
They are supposed to get more fun the further on you progress
Ditto. Honestly, the only two games I have finished were AC I and Black Flag. I couldn't even finish AC II for crying outloud. All AC games are so grindy and from what I am hearing(haven't played one since BF) it's gotten an order of magnitude worse.
your reviews are my go to. Excellent as always.
Very balanced and honest review, as are all of yours. I adore ACO, its the only AC game iv'e ever felt like playing, ''Odyssey '' looks like being my second. Cool.
I quickly have to finish the curse of the pharaohs before getting this game.
same!
Just got stuck on Tutankhamun. I almost killed him when he had a tiny sliver of health left, but alas... Desynchronization.
Just run around shooting him with arrows and avoid him. Then use your "super attack" when it's available. Just keep doing it and you'll handle it.
Damn this game looks good..
I even like part of the menus (that background with statue figures.. pretty cool)
are we going to get a "walking the walk" video for odyssey?
I felt so overwhelmed when I reach the "big city" cant remember the name, and its just a speck on the map🤣

"...all the way up to a life decision." Hilarious line my friend.
and sorta true
I really loved this review, you did such a good job as always.
One thing I’d add though, is the abilities in this game are pretty much ALL good and you can really tailor your abilities to you own play style. If you want to stealth one shot people you can upgrade abilities to do that, and if you want to just tank damage and slay people like a proper mercenary, you can do that as well. The abilities in the game are really helpful and the way you customise your gear can also help your abilities be more effective furthering your play style. It’s actually insane coming from an AC game to me. Definitely a pleasant surprise from the series
You need more love acg! I’m going to start networking for you.
Keep it up bro. Big love from New Zealand
