Hello, thank you so much for this video.
I'm trying to make my own ffb yoke and i would like to know what is the reference of the motors used in the Brunner CLS-E NG.
    Thanks in advance

I'm really sad to see how much empty space on the left there is. When I think about how I've struggled to fit gauges and things around the sides of the yoke, I never realized that they actually could have designed it a little narrower.

Agreed! I'm playing around with designing a FFB yoke and am curious what the needs of others are. What would your preferences be for the shape of the box? Flat & low profile rectangular shape that's around 2.5 inches tall and 10" wide or a more of a square type that's like around 6x4? Is depth a factor for you?

That's awesome! I'd say, for me:
      * Probably 2.5" x 10" would be better, as it means that if you were to fit it into something like a Stay Level Avionix panel, you could still fit gauges around it without too much pain. 6" x 4" means a pretty large perimeter around it. Additionally, the extra width would give it more stability.
      * Depth is only important insofar as it would allow for a longer travel length. Brunner's highest-end model has an option where you could buy an extra-long one if you needed it.
Some other thoughts about weaknesses in the Brunner:
      * Brunner's yoke handles are plastic and feel cheap. When you spend thousands for a yoke, you expect it to feel like it costs thousands.
      * Brunner's box has sharp metal corners on it that you could hurt yourself on if you weren't paying attention. Having a slight rounding to the corners -- at least the front-- would help.
      * Interchangeable yoke handles would be nice. Brunner makes one Beechcraft-style one, and that's it. So if you wanted to fly a Cessna, your only hope is to go to an outside company (e.g. Precision Flight Controls) and pray that they would make one for you. In the long-run, having a Cessna-style yoke, a Cirrus-style yoke, a Beechcraft-style yoke, and a Piper-style yoke would be great.
      * Additionally, if you want to swap out the Brunner yoke handle, you need to open it up and cut some open some zip ties. Being able to change it out without cutting anything would be a big plus.
      * Optional rubber feet would be great. (I say "optional" because if you want to mount it into a home cockpit, you may not want something that elevates it off the ground.) On the Brunner, if you put it on your desk, the aluminum feet can actually scratch your desk. Ask me how I know. Also, because it's completely smooth, you need to buy mounting clamps or fasten it to your desk with Velcro.
      Hope this feedback helps!

great inside detail video, many thanks, man! Do you happen to know what type of motors are used for pitch and roll axii?

So it's literally just a scaled up version of the microsoft force feedback joystick which uses 2 dc motors to both sense the position and apply resistance and feedback to the handle. Simple design i like it because simple means it will last ages.

Interesting to look inside. What clamps are you using to fix the yoke on the table? I think these are not included, isnt? Thx

The lack of clamps for this thing really upset me when I bought mine. I contacted Brunner and asked them where to buy clamps, and dismissed my question and said, "Oh, you can buy it anywhere," and I never found any clamps anywhere that would fit in the device. Ended up securing it to my desk with 3M Command strips.
