I used to be a reader and somewhere along the way, I stopped reading. I want to be a reader again and I try but I keep failing to make it a habit. The more I watch these vlogs, the more I feel motivated to read so thanks for that. Hopefully, I can call myself a reader soon.

“So this is getting a little out of control”-famous last words of all bibliophiles 😂 But we believe in you Emma! My winter tbr so far: Wuthering Heights (my favourite and one I love to read this time of year), War and Peace (Russian classics are perfect for the colder months imo), Melmoth, His Dark Materials, Royal Assassin (Hobb is so cosy to me), and The Hundred and One Dalmatians (which I read every year on Christmas Day) ❄️

You're so consistent when it comes to posting. Always looking forward to your videos! Thanks for making our days better, Emma :) you deserve the world! xoxo
Also for December TBR, if you have never read it, I'd really recommend A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett! It's a classic novel, a touching story about discrimination and class.
Edit: since I discovered that you have read A Little Princess, then I'd recommend
A Little Life (Hanya Yanagihara), although it has SO MANY trigger warnings. It would be a perfect gloomy book to read in the winter, nonetheless. Girls in the Dark or Ankaku Joshi (Akiyoshi Rikako) is a perfect murder mystery to read in the winter - I really did not expect the plot twist at all. Last recommendation would be Hiroshima Joe (Martin Booth), this one is VERY disturbing, even more so than A Little Life (it has many trigger warnings as well, that I am hesitant to type here). The main character is not meant to be likable - and I find one scene at the end of the book particularly disturbing that I had to put the book down, but it was so devastating and it had the message that wars bring nothing but pain and trauma.

She recommended it in a previous video! I actually picked it up because of that, and enjoyed it. 😊 Though it was definitely a product of its time, with its racist & classist undertones.

Pretty rainy where this cat lives - cold and rainy which is very perfect for sleeping on books - something cats have an affinity for, obviously. Enjoying "Chill Tidings - Dark tales of the Christmas season" at the moment after finishing "Spirit of the Season". Next short story collection will be "Sunless Solstice".
"Christmas Carol" is a reread each Yule time - and it is always glorious.
Planning is not something cats do very much - so December will tell what books to enjoy - random, yes random is a very precious word for this cat. That and warm blankets of course.

It kind of breaks my heart when my favorite booktubers dislike it for the exact same reasons that i love it lol(I still respect their opinion, of course). Enjoy your videos, new subscriber. My favorite month to read is Dec. also! I always have a cup (mug) of tea when I read. I just finished a Jenny Colgan book "The Christmas Bookshop" it was hard to get into for the reason you mentioned, but I was glad I finished it. Really liked it. Thought her very first one was good. The name escapes me. Thanks!

Oh my goodness - I spot The Ice Palace on your shelf. I read this in summer (haha) but I felt like I was in the depths of a Norwegian winter. Breathtakingly beautiful: you’ve got to read it!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm picking up Jane Eyre after finishing The Silent Patient. Looking forward to getting back into a classic.

There is so much joy in choosing Christmas reads or just planning anything in general for December. Such a beautiful month even though I live in a tropical area and there is no winter here

I visited L Auberge Du Lac in Lake Charles Louisiana and i heard about the 1910 fire of Lake Charles and about a family saving a Brand New Grand Piano and they manage to take out the piano in order to save it but the Piano burned but not the house.

im tellin ya! next year you should 100% read the snow child! I'd say by the end of the book I felt like I was a warm cozy home that i've never been at but would love to be at in a weird way. It's about... grief? family? acceptance? i think all those work and more. Although if you don't like some things not being answered you could be disappointed about one thing. When I was in highschool I got my art teacher to read it and she said that one thing was the one thing she didn't like, I said, not everything in life is answered, and I also don't think that was the point of the book. but anyway, It starts in winter, and it goes through the seasons and through time a lot, but it takes place mostly during winter because... Well its called the snow child! When I found the book I found it randomly in a library, and it has a snowy cover too. anyway, i will not ever bring up that book again. in the commment section. it helped me through harder times.
also, clearly im a pro at grammar. yeah i know its horrendous but its a youtube comment... book is great. to me.
also ignore southern united states if you like snow... there is no snow in texas. apparently its winter in texas but... i disagree
