Hi, thank you for sharing this video. I just had my colonoscopy done this morning. They found no polyps whatsoever, and I think I can credit the high fiber diet that I eat. I am a vegetarian. HOWEVER, because I am a vegetarian, my blood is naturally thin that I bled some during the procedure, which they fixed. I never knew that some vegetables and herbs and OTC pain killers can actually kill you by making you hemorrhagic by thinning your blood too much. I learned that turmeric, cinnamon, hibiscus, ginger, celery, garlic, caffein (coffee, tea, hibiscus, and chamomile tea), can thin blood that they can lead to brain aneurysm. Especially if you are taking blood thinner. Now, I don't take blood thinners, I'm just saying that these foods, herbs and OTC pain killers can exacerbate your blood thinning. Another thing I learned, is that recreational drugs, diet pills, cigarettes and alcohol (which I don't do, never had) can also lead to blood thinning and brain aneurysm.
Having mine done soon I am very nervous 😬I was taking painkillers so close to 9 Years. I have been clean for 52 days before I was always constipated and would never visit the bathroom now I go and go even up to 5 6 times a day regular bowels but I’m still going a lot. No blood or anything I’m 30. That I am still so so nervous will it be a bad idea to have it unsedated? I don’t know if my stomach is acting out because of the long use of Vicodin. But for the first time ever I’ve never felt my stomach so alert and awake after I stopped taking the opiates!
Heads up everyone.....get your colonoscopy and don't kick the can down the road. I had mine done earlier this year, and to be quite honest, all the daunting scuttlebutt about the prep and what not was highly overrated! And this is coming from an active person who always feels "lightheaded" if I don't eat every hour because of my running and workout routine. I was shocked at how well I did on chicken broth and JellO. They just removed a couple of polyps so all good, but remember that early detection is the key. It's not that bad people...honest...and I'm terrified of white coats and needles :)
@@rrkk773 Probably. You do need someone to drive you home because you will be sedated with propofol for the procedure. The good thing is that it has a short half life with no lasting hangover effects, so you should be able to do your remote home office work ...no problem.
The colonoscopy itself takes only 30 - 45 mins. But they want you there an hour early to do vitals etc, and they also want to keep you there an extra hour so that you can fully wake up and wait for the doctor to come share the results with you.
I've heard CRC is on the rise in young people. I personally feel it's all the GMOs and other stuff they put in our food. I try to buy organic but it isn't always an option. I just had my colonoscopy yesterday. I'm 38..it was easier than I thought. The best thing is if you can get an early appointment. I wasn't groggy at all and I also had propofol lol 😂 but everyone reacts differently
Hello, thanks for sharing ur experience through videos. I had a general question, were you required to take a covid test before the colonoscopy? I have a procedure tomorrow and was not asked to do a covid test. So I'm just concerned about the general safety. Would appreciate if you could reply soon
Hi Manila, thank you for watching. How did the colonoscopy go? As far as the test, it remains up to individual medical facilities to determine best practices for keeping patients and staff safe.
@@manilakamboj Glad your test went well. Had my 5th colonoscopy July 9 and had to do a COVID test a few days before (arranged by the hospital). It was a follow-up to having a portion of my colon removed. Next time I will ask Dr for the new Clenpic cleanse. Have done the Miralax/Dulcolax combo for years and did not tolerate it well this time. I do agree that the Gatorade wild cherry flavor is probably the best.
@@susantaylor9135 hi. I had stool test last week came positive got blood mix with stool. First I want to ask if that mean I had cancer ? The gp told me need to do colonoscopy I’m waiting for clinic call appointment Really I lost my brain. I’m very very scared
@@molondon1808 There are many reasons you might have blood in your stool, and it does not mean you have cancer. But, your doc is right..you should get a colonoscopy. First, it will rule out cancer and other gut issues you might have (like diverticulosis) but it will also give you the opportunity to snip out any pre-cancerous polyps you might have. Doing so is a plus because it will proactively protect you from getting cancer (until you get another polyp, anyway).
When colonoscope moves does it feel...I did not feel anything when it was moving..is it normal ? In short did they did properly ? I was not under sedation Please reply. Thanks
Hi there, I'm glad your procedure went well at time of this video. I too, have a colonoscopy procedure being done on me this coming Thursday Feb. 25th. So this means tomorrow (Wednesday Feb.24th) will be the day of bowel prepping. Yes, I'm a little nervous because this will be my very first colonoscopy procedure. I was shocked that the doctor gave you pictures of the inside of your colon and you were sharing the pictures to the youtube viewers. And the size of that polyp was like the size of your snack you had in your right hand. But very interesting to see and learn. Thanks for sharing. I hope my colonoscopy goes well.
@@ivanvelez7668 Ohhh It mean double the cost of the same procedure. I gotta do it but very scared of colonoscopy. Hope it goes smoothly and I don't feel any pain and the results also come out fine.

Your blood is not thin. You're malnourished. Eat meats.
Hey! I'm also a vegetarian and I had my endoscopy/colonoscopy earlier today! Still waiting on results though.
Thanks for this video. I’m already planning my first meal after the colonoscopy and I’m so excited for it. 🥳🥳🥳

Yes, they did it properly. You might feel something when they 'go around the corner' but if you didn't, it means they did a great job
Definitely need a apple fritter after my colonoscopy.
