This video is an opinion and in no way should be construed as statements of fact. Scams, bad business opportunities, and fake gurus are subjective terms that mean different things to different people. I think someone who promises $100K/month for an upfront fee of $2K is a scam. Others would call it a Napoleon Hill pitch.

If he didn't kill anybody as a doctor then 4 years is a very light sentence no wonder he got out and started to scam again. He will never learn his lesson but at the same time I wouldn't want this guy to be my airline pilot!
Abagnale never performed as a pilot, and his story is overwhelmingly a lie. It's bizarre that people have continued to choose to believe his story(the story was exposed immediately by newspapers, in the 1970s), despite the fact that his story is already that he was a scammer.
Frank Abignale’s greatest con was to make people believe that he was a genius con artist. Most of things he claimed he did never happened.
hey don't spoil the fun
He was also a petty criminal who stole from ordinary people.
Exactly. Although he was found out many decades ago - newspapers printed articles debunking his rubbish immediately after he made the claims, in the 70s. People *want* to believe his bs. He also scammed women into 'physical exams' to be flight attendants, and stole from the family of a woman he was stalking.
He was a scumbag then, he's a scumbag now - he's made/making far more money off his bs story, than he made from his supposed scams back then.
It was the original inception…a scam within a scam within a scam. So, in a way, he still was kind of a genius. He basically wrote fan fiction about his one life, but sold it as autobiography. Interesting.
It's marketing.
Reach enough people with a good scam and you will eventually get some money.

My personal favourite story in this context is that of Gerd Postel. As the name suggests, he was a postman who secured several positions as a chief doctor in hospitals and finally became the leading phychiatrist in a clinic in East Germany. In fact, the local minister BEGGED him to take that position. He later wrote a book titled "Playing Doctor" and says he was "an imposter among imposters", explaining that psychiatry, as of back then, was a pseudo-science, applied by insecure people.
the irony is that he still thinks the fact that he pulled this off proves he's the smartest person in the world (or at least germany), and you only have to take one look at what he posts on twitter to know that that's not true. he expresses himself well, but the thoughts that he expresses are... nothing special to say the least.
@@plop010 what do you mean? what are his views?
