QCT PatternCAD Tutorial: Converting Words into Quilting Designs | The Quilted Poodle

- This is a step-by-step guide on how to use QTC 5 Pattern CAD to convert an image of a word into a Quilting File. To start, you scan a signature to create an image file. Next, you import this image as a Background image into Pattern CAD. Finally, you use the software to create a digital quilt file that will allow you to produce a unique and personalized design.

Nothing like taking a shortcut to the front of the line. I know everybody doesn't enjoy spending as much time with the software as I do, So I am happy to find quick in roads for you to get the work done quickly.
HELP Marie! I have a juki miyabi 350 longarm and it leave's the bobbin thread too short to pull after I have used cut thread! Please help me fix this! It is very frustrating that I can't pull my bobbin. thread. You are so wonderfully clever, perhaps you can do a video just for pulling thread and bobbin issues? You have really encouraged me to use the features on my longarm and QCT. I especially love your CAD videos as I had no idea how to start learning this. Thank you!
I love my Miyabi. Because I do pull my threads to the top and cut them I don't use the thread cutter on the machine. It will leave a thread tail too short to pull up unless you use tweezers. So it's a matter of deciding which way do you want to cut your threads; do you want to pull them to the top and cut them, or do you want the thread cutter to automatically cut them. When I'm quilting baby quilts or high utility quilts are quilts for my dogs, I will use my thread cutter. And then to get started again I often take a couple stitches in the opposite direction of where I want to travel so I can be sure that my bobbin thread will get caught to connect my stitches going forward. I hope that makes sense if not let me know.

Can we use Adobe Illustrator to create a file to import?
You can use Adobe illustrator to create a file and then convert the .ai extension into a format that can be imported into pattern cad such as JPG JPEG or BMP
