Steph you are really blossoming in you presentations. Great job. Thanks guys.
Love Soft Caress mahonia! Very delicate foliage. It survived the December freeze btw (in zone 7a).
Good to know!
Steph I love your enthusiasm! 🎉❤
I love your videos amd have been a regular viewer since 2020.
The plant name and zone captions seem to be staying up for shorter periods of time and I can't read it all before it goes away. Some of that is due to focusing on the closeup of the plant before starting to read and some of it is due to not being able to read it until the camera moves and puts a darker background behind the white text.
Please keep the captions up longer. And I think the text would benefit from a black outline as well. Thanks!
Me too since 2019!
I pause the video if I need to catch a name. 😊
Such an amazing channel!
Steph, you have such a great eye for combinations -- truly inspiring. You also provide great explanations of what you are looking for in putting them together. Thanks to you both for another interesting video.
Good to know what works in shade. I really like the Roman Candle pseudocarpus.
Love these shade combos! I need to find more sun or shade plants. My front flowerbed gets about 4 hours of hot afternoon sun. Not enough for full sun plants but too hot for part shade. Also, I’m a big fan of Steph! Always a joy to see you in these videos! 😃🙏🏼👩🏻🌾 Thanks guys!
Great ideas!
I'm ever so excited to have found Brigadoon Hypericum, found two perfect spots to coordinate with my other gold foliage plants. One will get morning sun, the other diffuse afternoon sun. That Colocasia is stunning!
Fantastic combos! I love that Podocarpus!
Stunning collection of plants 🍃🌸🍃
Donna here, I love this area! We used to live in Robertsdale, in apartments, so our focus was more towards the beach and Foley. I did know there was a nursery there but apts. are not conducive to a lot of plants.
LOVE the combo videos! Thanks!!!!!
So helpful. Many thanks.
Happy 4th of July Jim and Stephanie 🇺🇸😊❤️
Nice combo's!Thanks for a very helpful video.
Nice combos. I have a lot of shade in my yard.
Just to let people know, if your Soft Caress mahonias are happy, they can get much larger than "compact and small" as mentioned in the video. My two reached 5 feet x 6+ feet wide in just a couple of years. I've already had to prune them back as they were planted under my low two bedroom windows. I prune the older, taller stalks all the way to the ground and this looks better than just shearing off the tops. Here in NW Florida in zone 8b, the north side of my one story house where they are planted gets full sun in summer and full shade in winter which doesn't seem to bother them. They do get regular water.
Is that really true tho? I've seen lots and lots of these Soft Caress in many places but max out at 3-4ft tall and a bit wider in SC and GA. Other Mahonias do get quite tall of course.
@@douellette7960 I don't make a habit of posting on social media unless its the truth. I would be happy to send you some photos if you tell me how to get them to you. Actually, these photos would be after I had to prune them back because they needed to be controlled as they were hanging over my 6 foot deep shrub bed and shading out my grass.
@@MelodyHopkins Of course it's not impossible that you have one of the largest Soft Caress mahonias in existence
@@douellette7960 Give me your email address so I can send you some photos. You don't need to be so condescending.

Love your videos, so informative. I just retired & redoing my entire landscaping but can't find most of the plants for zone 9 in my area, just outside of Tampa. Guess I'm going to plan a road trip next Jan out of state & see if I can find some of these. Thank you for giving so much info on the plants, so helpful.
You can get nice plants from this Nursery ( By Northside Hospital) in St Pete. It's off 45 th Ave.
Hot here in Florence south Carolin🥵
Good to see you Stephanie
Thank you both for sharing from Alabama

Than Roman Candle Podocarpus reminds me of rosemary. Then I was thinking, how pretty would variegated rosemary be?
Omg Steph, have I told you lately how much I love your plant combos? Your first grouping makes me wish I had some shade lol love it!
Happy Independence Day Jim and Steph! I hope y’all have a great holiday.
Never found TARA hydrangea avilibale online ! always sold out !
Thanks for this video. Love the hydrangea, but not too sure that I can get it in the UK.
I wish i could afford a lot of those. My garden is built on Lowe and walmart crispies lol
🙋
I purchased a peony at the nursery thinking it was a full sun loving plant; however, the nursery said to plant it in the shade because the South is so hot? I haven't planted it yet.
Our agapanthus grow in full sun in south florida.....they won't bloom well in the shade for me🤷🏾♀️
Good. Would of liked to see it done with grass as background. Would of been more impactful.
I have checked everywhere for this Colocasia Royal Hawaiian® ‘Waikiki , it is not available. Does the nursery in Loxley, AL sell to the public? I live in Decatur, AL and we really enjoyed your videos ! Thank you for your help
I wish Tara Hydrangeas were more readily available, can never find them!
I think I see your wife 🙂 open, LIKE. ☺️ you guys are doing fantastic!!
