I spent a few summers with Neil in Spain in the years before he died, after my divorce from the mother of his boys. We had something in common and become great friends. I'm still very close to his boys. His eldest is carrying the flame playing bass and guitar in a few bands in Bristol.

The first time I heard The Rampton Song, I was like "ok, this is the shit!!", I replayed that song so many times.
You know Chaotic Dischord wasn't actually a real band. The F off you C--t album was a joke thrown together by members of Vice Squad when they had a couple of hours of studio time left so they got really drunk and had some fun. It did kinda take on a life of it's own though.......

the only places we played in Hackney in them days was The Blue House (squat school (prison?) and Hackney Bus Garage which was squatted by some of the hardcore element of the peace convoy during winter times. I can't remember doing a gig in a front room of a squat, allthough we used to often visit our mates in Hackney who were in bands like Eat Shit, and God Told Me To Do It and the sons of bad breath but I don't think we had a gig there. Maybe we did and I can't remember.

This would of been pre thrash metal days before it came more acceptable for punks to be seen at metal gigs and metallers to be seen at punk shows. They were certainly great times as well as being scary some of the time.

100% Punk Rock in its purest form, and that is no opinion. I used to get heat for favoring U.K. Punk music over American. BUT to be fair the spirit of Punk originated in the UK. Not to say there weren't any excellent American punk bands like Minor Threat or Black Flag for example. It's just that I can hear & feel the precise difference between the two. UK punk has just always sounded more authentic to me. Their attitude as well seems more profound with a certain unique purpose.

Not everything is about tight instrumentation. Disorder pioneered an entire subgenre of hardcore punk because of their revolutionary tone and songwriting style. Die Kreuzen is basic fast hardcore punk.. it doesn't even remotely compare. It's child's play.
