I think that's why I love Crust Punk like Doom and Extreme Noize Terror, I love that guitar sound. Fucking love the guitar sound on the first Sorethroat album.
For some reason I always liked there sound and lyrics, I agree the best of UK 82. A lot of it is unlistenable now as it was very limited music but this band I tend to thrown on once a year.
Victimised was their first tune when I saw them in Nottingham back in the eighties after they'ed been pulled over again on the way to the gig. MDC was heading the gig. Great band. Cheers
My fun started 1978 when I found a cool radio station 106.7 in LA called Rodney On The Rock. All early Punk Rock. I'm 61 and that was in 1978 and then started watching shows in 1979; Weirdos, Fear, Germs, Angry Samoans, Original Black Flag, Circle Jerks, DOA & Canadian Subhumans who formed in late 1977, TSOL- Jack is my old friend, Young Americans- HS friends, Modern Protest- HS friends. The Cookoo's Nest was a killer club on the Newport Beach/Costa Mesa line. Then and I saw the Great English Invasion all over Los Angeles and Orange County from 81 when SLF and Angelic Upstarts played The Whiskey. Then The UK Subs & Ant-Nowhere League in March 82' at The Country Club. Then The Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles had massive shows (2-4000 punks n skins 2-3 times a month) when The Great English Invasion really kicked in. Sometimes 2 headliners almost every single weekend among other clubs. Varukers, Chaos UK, One Way System, GBH, Broken Bones, Cockney Rejects, Peter And The Test Tube Babies, Adicts, The Business, Toy Dolls🥳, Disorder, Exploited, UK Subs of course......all of em! Charlie Harper became a friend of mine. All those shows with the usual American bands mixed in like Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, etc. 12 straight years of craziness and a few times I thought I was gonna die, but not from drugs.....FIGHTING 😂 I had to mellow out. Still love good raw Punk Rock

used to have a laugh with chaos uk and disorder when they used to come over notts and stay at the squat our band supported them at queenswalk community centre back around then
Me + Chaos 1988, went to a party, it was all vegatarin stuff, so we decided to find a 24/7 store, we found a garage and bought a load of pies + sausage rolls 🤣
My name is Ben wright aka Tracy's Little boy, and used to love being with Chucky and Gabba !! Growing up as a little boy they were my idols "eat the rich"
I had this 7",vividly picture the sleeve with a ripped out rectangle caused by some stoned fucker after roach material.Ended up selling this and many others when short of cash.
The production on this almost sounds like a form of proto-stoner, with those fuzzy guitars and super distortion. Interesting to think about. You hear a lot how these early hardcore punk bands influenced thrash metal, black metal and death metal, but I swear this particular release could well have influenced stoner metal too to some degree.
You're onto something dude. I've been talking about this for years now. This band, and many others from the time period (search for The Shitlickers on UA-cam if you haven't already) were the FIRST bands to EVER use a tone quite this, with a high degree of intensity and brutality to match. Stoner rock and stoner metal may not know it, but they wouldn't exist without this music. And I'll tell you what - the first modern bands to create stoner punk are going to hit a goldmine musically.

I do agree! I was playing bass in a swedish punkband called Organiserad Avföring at the time (back in the late 80's)
first thing i heard
A band in these days that sounds familiar are the Casulties! Give it a listening, I did with their song chaotic sound and I was hocked!
Sorry! It's called Chaos Sound!!!
Sorry again! nowadays should it be!!!😔 not so good at the gramatics and founding the right words.🤣🤣🤣
Such a good distortion on the guitar. These days it's all so clean.
True to its nature punk rock outside the box
I think that's why I love Crust Punk like Doom and Extreme Noize Terror, I love that guitar sound. Fucking love the guitar sound on the first Sorethroat album.
well it actually is, their maybe talking about the guitar in the background
Not really. There's plenty of active noisy punk bands.
They were like, "yeah, gonna need a bunch of distortion on the bass guitar too", got to love that.
One of the best from the UK 82 era… but which I was blasting in the US circa ‘99… their track “No Security” is one of my all-time punk favorites
For some reason I always liked there sound and lyrics, I agree the best of UK 82. A lot of it is unlistenable now as it was very limited music but this band I tend to thrown on once a year.
