Syberia 3 was an awful game, but if you didn't like Syberias 1 or 2, yet did enjoy Syberia B-4, then it's going to be extremely difficult for you and I to do business.
You keep talking about "taking responsibility," but I have no clue what she is supposed to take it for. She is 30. She owes nothing to her mother or to her fiancé, who cheated on her, or even her friends. Her adventures were in pursuit of self-discovery and desire to help the people who needed her help.
This game is a acquired taste in beautiful masterpeice appreciation. If you have a need for ADD enabled adrenaline rush. Than this is not the appropriate pace template to run with.
I dunno bough this for 15€ from epic sale because the steam demo was nice. I never got far in any of the older ones too much moonlogic and pixel hunting for my taste. but I guess I reluctantly trust the devs again because the puzzles in the demo where quite nice and easy so far and the story progressed nicely. Heres hoping for the best.
The good part of Syberia 1 and 2 was the artistic endevour put in the landscapes and environments. It was a beautiful game, that's why I liked it. Now they stripped the only quality the game had making this Syberia 3 and 4
more like SyNOPEia, or SyNEYia. What I learned long ago and been reminded of each time I revisit this franchise name itself or topic alone is that this franchise basically doesn't know wtf it wants to be, doesn't know what story it wants to even say nor who to appeal to at all and the endings are so odd and out of place. Going through all the games in the series there were always rollercoasters of emotions, like one moment I love the game the next it feels off and I question the decisions behind it. I still to this day don't get wtf does Kate even look for in life and wtf is she at all seeking ?! For me the end of the 2nd game kinda was a ok closure, sort of good to simply end there, at least far as I can remember unless I am missing something ... I didn't see any point of making sequels at all. Then there is a history with these developments, the games been cancelled so many times and so many bad things happening to the point why even bother ... lastly the main creator passed away if that is not a sign to just stop then idk wtf is ... Add there the fact that on all the petitions and kickstarters there was barely any activity by the community or any hype at all for this franchise to live on considering the fact it was evident that who ever is making these games are incompetent to deliver a proper game at all. Let this be the last game so we can move the F on already so the same time and money can be spent on something useful ... I would have a different mindset if games would be made properly but sadly it's not the case anymore on top of that these games seem to be made by bunch of weirdos that I question their job of choice. If you want to make a game, THEN ACTUALLY LEARN TO MAKE A PROPER ONE. I mean here are few things right at the start, the game was released when in 2022?! yet the graphics are quite dated characters hair is rock solid, there is zero motion, and the clothing pieces also glued to the body, for example the collar even tho being open it's glued to the chin of a face and when the character moves it's head the collar warps with it too, like wtf seriously, can't they use more nods and assign these models and animations properly?! Lack of animations etc it's just oddball territory. One moment it's ok-ish the next feels like something made by a 10 year old in his basement ... I can go forever for the rest of the details too. It's really up there with the uncanny valley that I can't focus on the story or anything when I see all the jank ... S1 and S2 looked great for the time, I can't say ANY praisals for the other games. Why do they exist at all.
Heard this game was "definitely made in the current year", but wow, didn't expect all that. Edit: Didn't expect what you mentioned in the video, then I played the game myself for some 4 hours and it's EVEN WORST. This makes Kojima and David Cage seem apolitical and extremely nuanced by comparison. lol I was enoying the puzzles, but "sadly" I finally dropped the game because it seems very obvious where things are going and the writing itself doesn't seem good either. The caricatures of pure victims that are Dana and her family and the caricatures of evil that are the "villains" already had me worried, but then they even have that thing where characters who just met, simply look a each other for a few seconds, which means they are instantly in love and the writers don't have to do their jobs.
Lots of models are the same thing just re-textured. It was too hard for them to move few sliders in the 3D program I guess.... But nevermind that, plenty of other garbage in this game anyway, you can write a bible about all the junk and jank ...

I remember playing the first Syberia and it was so-so. The second one sucked donkey balls so I gave up on the franchise. Besides, if I ever hear the name "Kate Walker" spoken out loud, I may have to go on a homicidal rampage with meat cleaver.
