I really do love your rant videos, they always cheer up my day and I love rewatcing them all. Just wish youtube would actually tell me when your videos come out :)
To be fair, the "target" of the MCs inner monologue isnt the player, but the entity she's associated with, polaris. Whether that's just a stand-in for the player itself is another question.
I really like everything besides the gameplay. Something about the shooting mechanics and stuff never really clicked with me. Guess I'll go back to reading scp entries.
Yoo how do you guys keep funding ways to make the game harder on yourself? I played the game on normal and just used the shootgun and sniper variations of the gun and using the defense and force powers and then replayed the game on hard and this game is really not hard. Sure you die here and there like 10 or 15 times during hard mode but it is not that hard to beat or style on them.
I felt like the challenge in this game could have done with being a bit higher. You lament that you can't hit targets while moving or switch between weapons and power use, but that's really not a tall ask for most players who like action games. The powers and the gun have separate recharging power meters too, so the logical conclusion is to alternate between them in order to keep your attacks consistent. The respawning enemies are a core part of the gameplay loop, allowing the player to grind up better weapon mods to make the game easier. Did you ever play Sam Lake's other games (Max Payne, Alan Wake)? They're much simpler combat experiences which might be more your pace.
I mostly enjoyed this game. Most of the stuff you had a problem with was completely fine by me. The difficulty was crazy and didn't know you change the settings, now I wanna play again with the settings changed
My complaint with the combat isn't it's difficulty, but it's repetitiveness. After a while, I got bored of encounters because they all played similarly. The options the game gives you is not enough for me to play it more than once.
Did they patch in assist mode or did I just never spot it in the PS4 version? Because holy shit lowering how much health enemies have would make this game 10x more fun!
19:35 YOU ANIMAL, YOU DIDNT COMPLETE THORW STUFF LINE? WHY? it makes stuff so much easier, like that worm thing becomes just a joke realy and you can use it to close range shotgun those flying asholes nice video tho
I also love the world that they have made here, but couldn't stand the gameplay. Particularly the horribly disrespectful way the game punishes you for dying by taking away source (essentially XP). "Struggling a bit with these bullet sponge enemies are you? Let me just improve your game by making it harder for you! Fuck you player!"
Well sheeeeeit, this is the first video from you I've actually gotten any notification for in like a year.
The bit about the rubber duck 😂.
I definitely wanted to uninstall my own pulse multiple times during my playthrough but still loved it
Great review, glad to have you back

I don't know who but I like your fuckung reviews
Wow. I thought I was the only one who had these issues with the game, especially the story. Great and entertaining review non the less!
I liked everything about it. I guess its not your cup of tea
I really like this game actually! Agreed on it getting a tad repetitive but honestly game has a style to it that nothing else has.
Game was a solid 8

The gameplay itself really put me off to the point of using cheats and turn it into a borderline walking sim
I came here to say this game hard af and I haven't finished it. First boss pissed me off even though I did eventually beat it.

Control is the first game I used cheats with in maybe 15 to 20 years

Loved the game but couldn't finish it as it was kicking my ass. Heard they added easy mode but haven't gotten back to it
I didn’t finish it due to the horrible map navigation.
@@Blacklightning95 that never helps

nice video tho
as soon as i saw the gameplay, i got bored and just went back to other games.

I genuinely found the game boring and exhausting. It was way too long, the characters were incredibly bland and I never want to touch it again.
