    Love that they mention Martin Hannett. I consider him Joy Division's 5th member as he molded the band's sound in the studio. It's so sad he isn't alive anymore. It's so sad Ian died before the band finally achieved some recognition and it's so sad that the remaining band members don't talk to each other!

      @joeogle7729 3 роки тому +7

      @@thegreenbastard5171 the reason hooky says "they're pretending to be New Order" is because the New Order you see now aren't technically the same band.They had to license the name New Order from New Order for the new band. And because legal stuff is complicated, the new band basically bought all the rights and everything from the old band, this effectively meant Hooky got written out of the split so he couldn't make money from New Order. And considering he made up 1/4th of New Order and wrote a lot of the bloody songs I can understand why he isn't particularly pleased.
      Also when Steve, Gillian and Barney met up to start up again they never asked Hooky if he wanted to be part of it, which is a bit of a dick move.

    Unknown Pleasures is quite possibly one of if not the most important post-punk album of all time. From Disorder to I Remember Nothing, it’s a masterpiece. It’s pretty amazing that they only had short time of practicing their instruments and their songs. Then, they smashed the initial 10,000 copies of Unknown Pleasures, toured Europe,and influencing many bands. Joy Division is quite possibly the most influential post-punk band of all time and the most important post-punk band of all time.

    UNKNOWN PLEASURES es uno de los mas grandiosos albumnes de la historia , para mi mucho mas profundo e impactante que CLOSER , el cual muchos señalan como el mejor album de la banda .La oscuridad que emana la musica parece propio de una pelicula de terror o ciencia ficcion , pareciera que algo va a suceder en los proximos segundos , a mi me paso eso la primera vez que lo descubri hace como 15 años atras o mas , creci escuchando NEW ORDER y JOY DIVISION obviamente lo iba a descubrir mas temprano que tarde , a la banda le hubiera bastado con este disco solo para entrar en la historia , asi como sex pistols no necesito mas que de " nevermind the bollocks " . JOY DIVISION es un punto y aparte en la historia de la musica popular , es otra manera de hacer y entender la musica a traves de las emociones mas profundas del ser humano , por que hasta ellos y muy especialmente este disco , las bandas le cantaban a las chicas o a la droga .Larga vida a unknown pleasures y JD !

    3 years old I was when this album came out. 9 years later thru college radio I heard tracks that impressed and changed my value of music till this day. According to an interview with Peter Hook, the 1st song they recorded is the 1st track on the LP, Disorder, which is, has been and will always be my definitive song from JD. For me, it's *the* perfect song. The drums that start the song and just don't stop. The bass that comes next and a band that finally gave bass a voice. The guitar riff that's just endless. Then the great Ian, just jams and me "seeing" him do his *robotic* dance. The best. Thanks guys. Truly.

      No need. Just go see The Light. They usually have some awesome guest singers for a song or two.

      @@regend762 Yeah saw them in 2011. Took IAN some sunflowers before the gig. Rowetta was a powerful singer. Great gig supported by SECTION 25.
