Dear foreigners, please don't give too big value for handwriting russian alphabet. Feel free to just write russian typographical letters by the hand (as many of us do). wait till you get to learn the Arabic writings, oh gosh, it's all the same !! After a while you get the hang of it but man at first it's like you're almost always writing words with the letter J all along :P The Arabic language is quite artistic in my opinion, almost every letter are round and/or looks like J, it's quite nice if it's not for the very hard to pronounce Kha or Gha which is pronounced more in the throat area, it sounds harsh, it doesn't sounds soft or nice or gentle, I don't know, anyways, don't mean to diminish the Arabic language in any ways, it is what it is, other sounds are easier and nicer to pronounce :P

sobreaver You can't compare Arabic to Latin languages anyway, it has a different writing system depending on Farsi letters, which pronounced differently in Arabic. So the only equivalent of P is B sound in English, which is the letter ب in Arabic. While the sound Kh is a complete different letter ( خ) and exists as well in other languages, like Gaelic & German; for example: (ch) like: acht or eight in German , and the the sound gh (غ) as well is a complete different letter, which you can find commonly in French ( to replace the R sound), for example, rouge or red in French.

Sun Light, it’s Russian alphabet, which is based on Cyrillic script. Every language which uses Cyrillic has slightly different alphabets, like Macedonians have j and lack я, ы, etc., Ukrainians have ï and i, Serbians have a whole bunch of letters which I don’t have on my keyboard and thus cannot demonstrate (google it if you’re interested). And so on. And there are also quite a lot of non-Slavic languages that use Cyrillic and they tend to have some unique letters and lack some others, too.

I so much love the sounds it it: the sweet, soft voice of the girl who speaks, the sound of her drawing, the birds singing, a car passing by! This is a therapeutic video really! 😍 I think the girl who made this video should also start making videos of relaxation, her voice is amazing!

The similarities between greek and russian arent accidental. Cyril and Methodius (I can't spell names) Moddeled the Cyrillic script after the Greek one when spreading Orthodox christianity to the slavs. There are Cyrillic versions of both Ξ and Ω, along with a few others.
    Edit: See Borisslav's comment below.

Actually Cyril and Methodius had very little to do with the Cyrillic alphabet. What Cyril, possibly with the aid of his brother Methodius, created, was the Glagolitic alphabet. The Cyrillic was developed later on in the Preslav Literary School in the First Bulgarian Empire, as an easier way to write Old Church Slavonic (aka Old Bulgarian). It may have been developed by some of Cyril's students, including Climent of Ohrid.

Different use in origine probably. Many language in Europe started to use cursive when paper came in the continent. Took Latin-Early Italian. Letter "U" was invented during the XV-XVI centuries by scholars to semplify. Before it was used "V" for both type. In Latin was LVPVS (wolf) and became LUPUS. Latins used "V" because straight lines are easier to inscript on stone.
