Jokes aside these guns are pretty cool I love how detailed they are in their functions they are probably some of the most "authentic" futuristic guns ive seen in FPS

@Jahtzee bf3 had faction specific weapons which you could unlock for the opposite team later on. It was balanced well unless you’re just ass at the game and can’t get any kills without using the m16a3

TBH, ever since I played this, I really wish that other FPS games actually take some bit of realism used in BF-2142, specifically about reloading: "There's no such thing about _partial_ reloading, only _full mag_ reload as you throw away the used clips along with any ammo still in it !" Also, all FPS game developers should at least learn from _LucasArts_ about how to handle and use pistols, specifically that used in _Republic Commando_ : "Come on... using and firing pistols from the either side of the screen instead of from dead-center, like any real-life officers would do? You're joking me, right ?"

What i loved about older BF games was the magazine mechanic,if you were to reload while having 16/30 rounds left, youd lose these 16 bullets and reload a new magazine, really liked it for some reason
Never thought about how much this makes sense. Adds in a bit of a ammo micromanagement type deal, do you reload and waste valuable bullets, or risk not having enough for the next fight?

those guns are so unique and creative! truely feel like Sci-Fi tech without being too fancy! and what does 2042 do? give us lame as shit weapons that feel like every other weapon from black ops 2 or advanced warfare.... nobody likes using a M5 that handels and operates exactly like an M4 when you could have a Baur H-AR instead, where the upper reciever unfolds so you can replace the magazine! thats just SO cool!
Is there any way you can still play this game online? With a community patch of some sort? I still have my original box and CD's. I loved this game I played the HECK out of it as a kid. I loved playing the LMG class where you could place down sentry turrets. The game mode where you had to get inside their floating mothership and disable the core to win. What an amazing game for its time. I wish I could play it again right now. I don't have a CD/DVD Rom on my PC so I am not sure how I could install it. I do have my CD key though.

This Battlefield is one of my favorites, the Titan Mode was amazing in this game

Only ones i knew was MW that made the player holds pistol near the middle and the pose changed if the pistol has a stock equipped

chill, bf 2042 isn't too futuristic and sci-fi it's literally two decades from the present. we don't have laser guns by 2042
