- In my quest in finding the perfect throttle lock for my motorcycle #z400 after riding 90+ kilometres non-stop from my partners place to work. And upon arriving my wrist was on fire!
Luckily I didn’t need to do anything strenuous that shift. But after that, I set out to find the best budget throttle locks. I’ve bought three, with varying design. In this video I review the knock off version of the Atlas Throttle Lock, even though it’s the a quarter of the price of an actual Atlas, it’s still the most expensive throttle lock I’ve purchased.

You sure you didn't use wrong size pad
I bought the real deal November 2023. SUPERB quality and works great. Google the back story on how it was created. It's worth supporting the people that made the original!
Left out some details that leave more questions than answers. Couldn't you have chosen a different pad thickness?
I bought one off Amazon as well and it's working just fine for me. I have way more of a gap between the throttle tube and throttle housing than you too.
I'm going to give it go, I'm an engineer so I'm sure i can tweak it if required.
That sounds exciting! One theory I have is the issue might lay with the budget silicone friction pads included, so maybe a stronger material might change how secure it locks into place. Either way, make sure you update me/us on here on your findings👌

This looks like it isn't a bonafide Atlas throttle lock, but rather a cheap knock off.
Yeah even the real throttle lock does this. I just returned mine. If you are looking for a throttle lock I would look at the Kaoko.
The koako is superb, I had one on my beemer for years but fitting one on a cb500x is a real chore because you've to remove the bar end!

I bought one of these, seemed a good copy, but the pads supplied don't work they have no friction! The suppliers told me it was nothing to do with them! Not worth sending it back, a shame because a rubberised pad would have made it work. Chinese rubbish at its finest!
There's always after market rubber pads if that size
