There's a lot of creepy stuff in WoW... Everything from the Goldshire children, human faces on gnoll tents, to King Varian's crazy obsession with statues! However, where there's a lot of creepy Easter Eggs and trinkets to find, there's also a lot of just down-right creepy places that I wanted to discuss. I know I didn't release a Halloween machinima this year - which I did promise to do - so I guess you could say this is my make up for that lost opportunity. I hope you all enjoy and please, be merciful. This is my 2nd ever list, so I'm very eager to hear what you all thought of it. Hopefully in this video I can introduce you to some places, as well as some lore, that maybe you weren't aware of.
If you liked the video, feel free to give it a like and maybe even subscribe. I'll be sure to do more in the future and I'll be watching very carefully for suggestions for future countdowns. Thanks everyone for your warm encouragement so far! :)

Naxxramas in the construct quarter was scary as hell. If you don't kill Thaddius, children's screams echo throughout, say "pleeeeease", "stop, make it stop", "help, save me", and "please, noooo." Then he thanks you for killing him. How Naxx didn't make the list is mystifying. Naxx and Karazhan are scary places. God I wish they'd bring raids like that again. Atmospheric instances are a rarity since Cata.

First time me and my guild ran through that... damn.. barely anyone spoke at all when we heard the screams.. When we noticed it stopped with his death we were relieved that we saved all those souls bound by flesh.

I'm surprised you didn't add the throne room in the Ruins of Lordaeron. In there you can hear the whispers of Arthas, his father, and even the bells that used to toll right before Arthas destroyed the kingdom. As soon as you walk into the area with the bells you can start to hear them if you turn the ambiance up high enough, then as soon as you enter the throne room you hear the cinematic between Arthas and his Father right when he killed him. You can also hear voices at the kings tomb, don't remember what is said there though. I found that to be the creepiest and most amazing spot in the game.

Canayedian Sweetie Well its not a very well known place. Usually you wouldn't stumble across this. In order to find it you need to turn your ambiance on almost full blast and turn sounds and music down to basically 0 and then stand in the mentioned areas for it to trigger. And yeah, there are no shortages of creepy places in WoW xD

Fun Fact : That Troll that you see in Nagrand who is claimed to be a cannibal is seen in WoD again, in Nagrand. Apparently She killed an Orc's Mate by draining her life and continued to do this process since then. Once we damage her enough the Orc She was disguising as turns into that exact Troll, and get's her coming to her. Though She's likely still alive on our Outlands.

All those yellow eyes are eerily similar to C'Thun. There's also an undead woman out in the woods, named Rona Greenteeth, who sells various food items cooked from the flesh of the playable races.
Couple that with the Darkmoon Rabbit and the countless ghosts (only visible if you are a ghost yourself), and you've got yourself one helluva creepy place.

Kharazan Crypts has no lore? The crypts existed to symbolize Sargeras' influence over Medivh, all those bodies are the victims of Sargeras' torment and also to express Medivh's twisted personality. If you read The Last Guardian, Medivh had many apprentices, none of them survived except Khadgar. That is because Medivh had them all slain and put them down in the crypt.

For me, a truly creepy moment happened not where, but when during the questing in Zul'Dark. At this point I had finally started really paying attention to the quests and lore as well as started giving my character his own personalty (writer, I can't help it). After killing a mob, it dropped an unliving choker which started a long quest chain and had this text. "Gazing upon it overwhelms you with an ominous presence - one that compels you to wear it."

    THE FEAR OF DEEP WATER?
I haven't played WoW in a long while, but when leaving the Night Elf starting area and getting on the boat, I was jokingly jumping on the boat when the game lagged and glitched out and I fell off the boat into the black sea. I started having a break down and I was frightened thinking some giant fucking kraken would just pull my character underwater or a jaws inspired shark scene would occur.

+CANT LET YOU DO THAT STARFOX That's horrifying and would have me shitting bricks too.. especially when I've heard rumours that there was supposedly a ?? Elite thresadon that would stop you from swimming from Darkshore to Teldrassil!
There's also other freaky places in the game that remind me of that, particularly Hrothgar's Landing, with AN ACTUAL MOBILE KRAKEN FLYING AND SWIMMING AROUND THE PLACE!
Also one of the scariest points of the game for me, way before the introduction of the Whale Shark, was definitely the ?? Elite 'Big Shirl' orca mob located just off the coast of Howling Fjord in Wrath, that at the time had more HP than the freaking Lich King, and while I eventually found out it was just there for scenery, it still appeared as aggressive and was fucking HUGE!

The scariest places in WoW to me are actually places with deep water, like Vashj'ir.
I did really like questing and being in Vashj'ir, it's one of my favorite areas in WoW, but at the same time it's really scary, not only because of the deep water, but also because of all those Whale Sharks and that giant Boss Level Sea Serpent in Shimmering Expanse.
Also, the most uncomfortable places for me in Vashj'ir are the Abyssal Depths, like you said, but also the outside of Darkbreak Cave.
Just, that REALLY deep, BOTTOMLESS ocean that's underneath when you go outside that cave, which is pretty much your base there...EEK!
I am TERRIFIED every time I go in and out of that cave.
I'm also not very comfortable with vortexes in water, like the one in Darkshore.
Maelstrom is also pretty creepy, and every time I'm there, I'm really scared of falling into the water!
I'm also intimidated by the ''Fatigue'' status, so I NEVER go out into the open sea unless it's absolutely necessary for a quest or exploration.
I'm also scared of walking among or near giant monsters, like the giant undeads in Icecrown, the Felreavers in Hellfire Peninsula, the Gronn in Nagrand, the giant guy in Zul'Drak and ESPECIALLY the Whale Sharks in Vashj'ir.
Also, in Outland, I am scared every time I have to fly above the Twisting Nether, especially when I don't have a choice if I want to get around the place, like it is in Netherstorm. I'm just terrified of the thought of falling down into the Twisting Nether. O_O
There was also something else I used to be scared of, but that's because my big brother teased me.
It was in Eastern Plaguelands, on the the coast near Scolomance.
There are all these red thingies lying around, and you can activate them, and an undead will appear.
Well, when I was younger, my big brother teased me and said that if I activated one, a boss level monster would appear, and he said it, JUST when I was about to activate one. I quickly cancelled, and had been afraid of them ever since.
Then a couple of years later, I think, we played together, and he activated one, but nothing appeared, and I asked: ''Didn't you say there would appear a boss level if you activate it??''
And he replied that he had been joking, and if something does appear, it's not boss level.
Man I got mad at him! >:(
I'm also not too comfortable with flying out into the Twisting Nether, away from land, or flying too high up into the sky.
I have this eerie imagination that if I fly too high up into the sky, a boss level dragon or something will appear and kill me.
I like flying, but not too high^^
I was especially afraid of flying too high when Cataclysm got out, since Deathwing began flying around.
I never actually saw him, but did find his flames now and then, and I even spotted his shadow once!
But when I looked up, he was gone. Nowhere to find. I had seen his shadow, but never saw the devil himself, outside of missions.
Oh well, at least I got ''Stood In The Fire'';)
...Yeah, there's a LOT of things in WoW that frighten me^^; But it might be more or less instinctly fear rather than...other fear maybe. I dunno.

+Rubywing4 Holy shit you are exactly like me im also scared by Whale Sharks.
And i never go out into the Ocean i just dont like it when the Fatigue Bar appears im kinda scared of it.
The same thing is in the Twisting Nether i just hate to fly out there im always thinking when i go too
far away from the Zones that some kind of Skull Level Monster is going too kill me ^^
Im kinda scared of Skull Level Mobs or Boss Level Mobs because as i was younger i was sometimes going into High-Level Zones like the Twilight Highlands then i saw these Skull-Level Mobs and attacked them because i didnt know they were like 50 Levels above me that kinde scared me because they were obviously instant killing me. Kinda nice to see there are People that have the same Problems like me.
Sorry if my English Skills are not that good im from Germany ^^

      EXACTLY THIS!
Now (BFA) there's this quest about going under water to look for the dead bodies of some marines, but the thing is that the bodies are veeeeeeeeeeeeery deep in the ocean and it's actually pretty dark, they only give you a lantern and say that if you have it on too much, a giant shark will appear and kill you c:
I suffer so much doing this quests (I did it without turning on the light)
I used to think I must be the only one who actually fear giant bosses will appear from nowhere. Back in Wrath, I used to be afraid about going at the top of the pillar in Storm Peaks, that if I fly across Twisting Nether (BC) a giant snake will appear from under and eat me. Or in Legion, when I was curious about what will happen if you go to the dark place at the end of the Emerald Nightmare (the only you can see is dark and a debuff taking you damage) at that moment I feared couldn't be able to return to the white place.

Vash'jir did make me feel very uneasy - and still does -, as if something bad was about to happen at any time.
That's exactly why I loved that zone. I was so immersed I actually felt something. I wasn't just doing quests to level up anymore. For a while, I forgot about XP and levels - I was exploring. I was on an adventure.

Very unique list, was happy that you didn't reuse the same places most of these kinds of lists do and I like that you took an appreciation for the story behind the locations and not just appearance. Although even so in my opinion the Karazhan Crypts are pretty neck and neck with Scholomance, and it's not like the Hillsbrad Island has any lore behind it either so I felt you were pretty rough on it for that.

Thanks dude. When I was making this video it was a goal of mine to show some areas that I hadn't seen before on other 'creepy stuff' videos. Some of them came through, but the majority I tried to keep unique. And yeah, I agree with the island comment you made. For me - and I should've said this in the video - I find haunted islands to be really spooky and interesting, which is why I put it so high on the list.

For me everything about (old) Duskwood is a scary experience for a new player back at classic.
While questing on the starting zone with my human rogue (my first character) I noticed that if I crossed that river at the south, the other side was named "the darkened bank" and it had wolves with the scary skull symbol instead of a level.
Much later, when I was done with Westfall and Redridge, I had to continue questing by going to Duskwood. The feeling this area gave me was so unsetling:
1)The sunny sky was replaced by a permanent gloomy night.
2)The music was now mysterious and menacing
3)Apart from the wolves, there were also giant spiders, even nastier wolves that would walk on two feet (worgen) and of course my first encounter with undead creatures. That Stitches in particular gave me a really big scare.
    4) the Stalvan questline that involved looking for the trail of a madman while having Banshies that knew my characters name spawn on me to stop me

How about the Crazy Cat Lady's House?
Donni is an NPC who lives in Elwynn Forest, and has a lot of cats (she'll even sell you a couple) and she seems friendly, polite, and generally attractive... Until you notice she's carrying a bloody butcher knife.
Course, she may just have that to use against the bandits in the area, but then you read the descriptive text of the cats you can get from her; they're kinda weird. The Cornish Rex cat claims Donni invites it to tea parties where the "tea" is the tears of defeated enemies, while the Bombay Cat's text says Donni plans to inter it with her when she dies.

Nixxiom Machinima I hope you look around, and not list all the famous "unkown" locations. I.E Dwarf farms, cheels place, etc. etc. I would put The gate of stormwind up on there personally. While it's not hidden, no one just visits the gate. It's a gate, but it has a great view looking out of Elwynn, and I used to RP there a lot.

Kill the explosive sheep and you get blown backwards (Sometimes off the cliff) and Agee runs out and goes "HEY! What the heck, guy? Of all the slimy, inconsiderate, pigheaded...."

From what I have seen, nobody has mentioned this but I'll comment on this.
You said in this video that the Kharazan crypts has no lore, which is not generally true. The Kharazan tower itself was the home of the guardian Medivh and was built beneath a spot where the magic Ley Line of Azeroth meet. However the tower itself actually has two towers, one above ground which we can go and raid and a second directly beneath it like a mirror. However everything in the tower is different from top to bottom, where you might find a kitchen on the top tower you'll probably fine a gore drenched butchery or bone room on the bottom tower. The tower was probably created whenever Sergaras (leader of the Burning Legion, corrupted titan) possessed Medivh and was where Medivh was ultimately beheaded.

Scholomance was and still is the creepiest place. Back in vanilla if you completed a certain chain of quests you would receive a trinket that would allow you to see the dead
and the entire island was filled with spirits, just going about their daily "lives" not even knowing they were dead. You could actually interact with vendors and stuff and even repair before entering the instance. Also the dungeon itself was the hardest 5 man content available in vanilla. It used to be my favorite dungeon together with Stratholme. The lore was awesome the bosses were awesome everything about it was great. Not to mention it was crucial in getting the exalted rep with the Argent dawn faction.

Scholomance was my favorite instance before its revamps(I counted the level drop during cataclysm to be a revamp, despite not actually changing the layout and mob placement of the instance) and was highly disappointed with how they changed it so drastically in MoP, making it so much shorter than it once was, getting rid of a lot of the old story elements of Scholomance itself like Kirtonos the Herald, but I can't really blame them for doing so since keeping it the same at level 90 would've made people very reluctant to even do it if it took as much time as it did in vanilla

The other cool thing about Scholomance is that it's based on an actual place called Scholomance in Transylvanian lore. It's a school that only allows 10 people to attend its classes to become great wizards of black magic under the devil's tutelage and at the end of their run, one of them becomes the devil's assistant while the other nine can roam the earth riding dragons. It's supposed to be a castle on a remote island in a lake of immeasurable depth, hidden deep within the mountain ranges of Transylvania :D

Loved the hidden catacombs area under Raven Hill Cemetery. I used to gank there on my orc warlock all the time. I would use my eye of kilrogg to search for victims from the safety of the hidden hallways. The high levels that would come in to root me out could never find me hehe. The large room that is before the room with the break in the wall has a neat feature where the light is nonexistant. So your character disappears into the shadows and turns solid black. If you have glowing eyes it becomes a really cool effect. I have yet to find this lighting effect anywhere else in the game.

The depths of Vashjir get even worse when you look up it's relation to the puzzle box of Jogg Saron and suddenly find yourself in the Barrens. I personally would've added the whole of Deadwind Pass instead of just the crypts. It is full of trees with ghost faces and hanging corpses, an unknown Adrien's camp that still has fire on it, vultures are to be found in every corner and it's a nightmare for arachnophobics and low levels alike. Yet this list is easily the best list of spooky places in WoW I've seen to this date.

I swear though, as a new player, questing through Silverpine Forest and Duskwood was probably one of the most traumatizing experiences ever. You have two zones with really haunted and creepy settings and undead and rabid animals and then blizzard also added a powerful werewolf elite to one and a powerful abomination to the other. Getting crept up on by either was something of a nightmare and gave me near heart attacks. Personally more so than Duskwood, Silverpine Forest is scarier for the ambience the zone has but they are both close.
