The fact that Hemric didn't manage to take Allmendinger AND Allgaier with him in that Atlanta race is insane. Like if he's backed up, maybe a couple inches, that's a far bigger wreck than what we saw
Over the course of the year I became a Hemric fan which started after that Atlanta race and by the time they got to Texas in the Round of 8 I wanted him to win so badly when I was there in person and he was so close to doing that and I'm so glad he won the whole championship at the end.
Ryan Newman almost did it in 2014... Hemric had the luck in Arizona that he never had in his career LOL Gone Too Soon: Ayrton Senna Jules Bianchi Tony and Dean Roper
I thought he'd be another to end up on your bust list but I'm glad he finally pulled it off. Hopefully he'll start winning multiple races a season now.

Did Hemric deserve the title over Cindric or Allmendinger? No, not one single bit. The playoff system manufactured that. At the same time, though, there is no driver more deserving of a title, manufactured or otherwise, than Daniel Hemric.
Hemric definitely watched the Darlington '03 finish between Ricky Craven and Kurt Busch hours before the race 😂, now to watch him win more races in 2022 with Kaulig Racing.
Got his first win and title on the same day Carl Edwards won his very last Cup Series race at Texas 5 years ago, Dave Rogers was also the crew chief for both wins

I haven’t been much of a Hemric fan but when we got that last corner pass for the championship I was loosing my mind in excitement. I was so happy for him.
I still get chills watching this finish. It’s nice to see someone who has been in position time and time again but something had to keep going wrong and then the win he finally gets is his championship. People can say what they want about whether or not he deserves it. I think after going through all that hell he deserves something. He should’ve won so many races this year.
When he won the championship, I just couldn't help myself but smile... this was a guy that came close to it by a fingernail, but just couldn't cut it.... very, very, very consistent, but that last race, (especially considering that he was leaving JGR for Kaulig's cup series ride), was the icing on the cake, cherry on top, or whatever way that you choose to word it... damn sure excited to see what he can do in Kaulig equipment I'm the Cup Series...
Hemric could've won 5 races this year if the pit crew didn't implode on a weekly basis, cup leeches winning and if Gibbs' didn't tank the team for Ty Gibbs. He was easily the 3rd best driver this year even without the wins.
Words could not describe how happy I was that day. Not only did he get his first win but he also became a champion. Couldn't pick a better place to get your first win.
I remember losing it when that incident happened at the Atlanta race between Busch and Hemric, Hemric didn't deserve that, but it all paid off in the end!!!!!
Honestly even without the chase, Hemric would still be a champion (2018) Congrats on the 2021 non-chase championship, Austin Cindric! Hopefully Daniel Hemric can FINALLY win more races next year!
I dinked on Hemric for his Cup run thinking it was too early. I was kind of right. 2020 was a rough season for him in Xfinity. Then he got the 18 car. Driving his heart out and being consistent. Being in position week in and week out for wins. Even with the curse. He became one of my favourites for the season. And when that caution at Phoenix came out I thought it was over for him. But he pulled a *perfect* move. Didn't wreck Cindric or anyone else, just saw a gap and took it. Some might say it's dirty, but it was a clean move. Even Dale Jr. said he would have done the same thing for the title. I think this year's final four (besides Gragson) were the real class of the Xfinity series this year. Should Berry have been in? Sure, you could argue that. Ty Gibbs probably would have run away with it if he was eligible. But Hemric managed to beat the best on skill and consistency all year. We shouldn't forget that.
Besides being a Daniel Hemric fan, I'm also Austin Cindric fan and I wasn't even mad he lost either because at least he got his title last year and it was time for someone else to have the spotlight. Now with that being said, I cannot wait for the titanic battles we'll have in the Xfinity Series next year especially since you have the Ty Gibbs vs Sam Mayer rivalry from ARCA, Josh Berry, reigning champ Daniel Hemric who will be hungry for more checkered flags or trophies now that he's got the giant monkey off his back, Justin Allgaier, AJ Allmendinger, Sheldon Creed, and Noah Gragson
I'm a musical theater girl and the character that I think Hemric fits in is Evan Hansen from the musical Dear Evan Hansen. He maybe wrote letters on what will happen during the race that week. Hemric wonders if he will ever win. Waving through a window from the show is a good example. He wants to be excepted in nascar as a proven winner. On the outside always looking in, it reminds me of Hemric's 2nd place finishes. Daniel was waiting around for an answer to appear on when he will get his first win. He's now a champion and a proven winner for many more races to come.
I remember screaming at the finish, “DANIEL HEMRIC DID IT! DANIEL HEMRIC DID IT!” It was one of the greatest moments in NASCAR I’ve ever seen and I’ll never forget that night!
My wife and I jumped off the couch screaming when he pulled off that pass coming to the checkered flag for the championship, then I picked her up, swung her around, and kissed her for about ten seconds straight. That’s how good it felt after being a fan of his since 2017. So, so happy he’s got two big trophies in his case now!
Also not mentioned in the video is the pocono race where he had the fastest lap on basically half the laps but he sped on pit road on his final pit stop and cost himself another win
I was saying time and time again. What was it gonna take for Hemric to Finnaly Get that 1st win.
