@Waiter12Hunker ASU with a tremendously easier path, despite having to beat BYU. BYU is reeling and has had to win several close games with tons of help from officials. ASU is hot and facing BYU at home, where they're undefeated. ISU has to beat Utah on the road, who has a great defense despite Colorado dismantling them. Utah also has to win to keep their chance at a bowl spot, so they'll be bringing a LOT of heat, especially being at home. Colorado also has to win out. They might be hurt by the fact the Army/Navy game won't count since it's after selections since Navy is likely 8-3 and was previously ranked which would give Army 3 quality wins to end the year.
They have the 131st ranked SOS out of 134, the teams they faced so far are combined like 34-56 this season, this stuff matters. Even if they beat ND it would be EXTREMELY hard to just jump then over others team just because they undefeated. ND is the ONLY good team they will face all yr, Navy wouldn’t have been a big win either they have the 95th ranked SOS and got blew out vs the only good teams they played. You don’t get to beat up on D2 and D3 schools and jump over teams that had real schedules
@JeffGonyo well notre dame will be out. Army would be ranked ahead of Boise; there is a chance both get in but Boise is certainly on the chopping block.
@@334ben10 if army beats notre dame and Tulane while maintaining an undefeated record they will get in. Vols should win out with their remaining schedule and can definitely still get in. We just have to wait and see how harshly the CFP Committee punishes them for their loss to Georgia, but they still have a solid chance.
I'm a bit confused why your assumption for the MWC championship is UNLV vs Boise State, when that would require CSU to slip up. CSU has looked very solid the last 5 weeks and likely wins out. They will be playing Boise in the MWC championship
When I talked about Boise State getting upset in the MWC Championship, I only used UNLV as an example of their opponent because I believe they're the only other team in the conference with a shot to make the CFP. I understand that Colorado State controls their destiny in making the MWC Championship, but UNLV actually has better odds because Colorado State is an underdog against Fresno this weekend. I would love to see Colorado State make the MWC Championship, but because they already have 3 losses, the AAC winner of either Tulane or Army will get a spot over them in the CFP which is why I only brought them up once or twice.
@RioWatchesYT yeah, I think CFP is a lost cause for them, but a Conference championship seems increasingly likely, I like the Rams to win in Fresno this week

As much as everyone cries about the SEC teams getting preference, how many of the lower chance teams like BYU, Boise, Indiana, or Army would be favourite in a game against any SEC 2 loss team?
I know what they should do! SEC should create their own version of NCAA. Then you guys can have your own playoffs where ALL THE TEAMS ARE SEC, WOOOOOOOO!!!! Perhaps then you can finally get the circle jerk you so desire.
Good prediction. I do think if Boise and Colorado win their respective conferences, then Boise could snake that 4th bye spot. Notre Dame vs Indiana in-state game would be insane
Committees love to make things complicated. Could've just done something simple like take the AP or Coaches top 16, and let conference champs have automatic home field in the first round.
It's tough. They should get through Army in South Bend, but playing USC at their place is not a game I would want to be apart of. They've been really solid at home and almost knocked off Penn State. I'd argue they're somewhere in between, they're expected to win out and would be in with an 11-1 record, but I wouldn't necessarily call it a collapse if they lose one either.
Personally this is how I see it shaking out as a big ten fan. 1.Oregon 2.Texas/winner of the sec championship game (I think if they lose vs tamu that they should be out of the playoff and tamu takes their place) 3.Colorado/byu 4.Smu/miami 5.OSU/Indiana (Playoff elimination game. depends on who wins the head to head) 6. Penn state 7.Georgia 8. Notre dame(If they lose another game they should be out and their spot gets taken by either a 10-2 osu or an 11-1 indiana) 9.Alabama 10.Tennessee 11. Ole miss (should they lose against florida then their out and get replaced by either 10-2 osu 11-1 indiana or 11-2 miami in that order) 12. Boise state( If army wins the aac championship and beats ND then its possible they take this spot over boise) I think the sec should get 5 big gets 3 big 12 acc and g5 get 1. If ND georgia alabama tennessee or ole miss drop a game then that spot goes to the loser of the ohio state indiana game if they win out. I think Texas and Tamu is a playoff elimination game. While I think Texas is a playoff team their sos is simply not good enough to be in if they lose to tamu because of their loss to georgia. This scenario is what I think is most likley and is very fair considering the sec is deep and their top 5 teams would be the best teams in any other conference. Would love to hear other peoples thoughts/opinions. Also these are just the 12 teams I think will make it. Their individual rankings could be slightly different.
Honestly really solid and realistic playoffs. With BYU's loss to Kansas, I could see a team like Boise State sneaking into a bye spot if they win out and if a 2 loss team like Colorado comes out of the Big 12. As an Indiana fan, I'm really interested to see what the committee does in the event that they lose to Ohio State. Would be gut-wrenching to see them left out, but that SOS isn't doing them any favors, unfortunately.
I love how this video just assumes that BYU would beat Kansas, because of course they would, right? But then now we know that BYU losing to Colorado would actually make them 11-2
You forgot Texas Tech! They are basically in the same boat as Missouri. The sun is more likely to explode, but they could get into the Big XII championship game. Anyway, great analysis.
Also, I am not a fan of these large conferences without divisions and limited schedules (as is necessary in football). It makes the need for ridiculous tiebreakers much more likely. I just arranged a Big XII season with 14 teams tied with 5-4 conference records. It makes a three-way tie seem quaint. Is it likely? No. Is it possible. Absolutely. Such disasters are even more likely with fewer (8) conference games - looking at you SEC and ACC.
Agreed, it also heavily favors teams with weaker schedules, so a team like Georgia that's playing ranked opponents what feels like every other week could get left out of the SEC Championship for a team like Texas who only has to win one ranked game.
call me crazy, but if colorado state wins out and beats boise in the mw championship and essentially every other g5 contender loses out, the rams will likely get the bid

11. Ole Miss 3. Miami
6. Penn State
10. Indiana 2. Georgia
7. Notre Dame
As an Sc fan we should only have 2 losses
Let’s go Iowa state!
Army controls their own destiny. Army beats #8 Notre Dame when they are already #16 you can't leave them out.
I think fsu is gonna take it all
A list video. In 2024. With no timestamps. Laziness at the very end is lame after making such a great video. In 2024
Hypothetically where is notre dame? 2nd tier or third after virginia
1st tier
Wish people understood that the sec is the best conference by a long shot when they complain about the rankings lmao
11k is crazy
The worst part is that it was off a $1 bet 😭😭
9:23 - Mentions the probable #4 seed
Dude, you just made me hate mizzou for you
K-state out, Arizona state needs to go up a tier
Personally this is how I see it shaking out as a big ten fan.
1.Oregon
2.Texas/winner of the sec championship game (I think if they lose vs tamu that they should be out of the playoff and tamu takes their place)
3.Colorado/byu
4.Smu/miami
5.OSU/Indiana (Playoff elimination game. depends on who wins the head to head)
6. Penn state
7.Georgia
8. Notre dame(If they lose another game they should be out and their spot gets taken by either a 10-2 osu or an 11-1 indiana)
9.Alabama
10.Tennessee
11. Ole miss (should they lose against florida then their out and get replaced by either 10-2 osu 11-1 indiana or 11-2 miami in that order)
12. Boise state( If army wins the aac championship and beats ND then its possible they take this spot over boise)
I think the sec should get 5 big gets 3 big 12 acc and g5 get 1.
But then now we know that BYU losing to Colorado would actually make them 11-2
RIP Wash St
As A Missouri fan we’re cooked 😭😭
Any 3 loss team is cooked.
ASU BEATS KANSAS STATE WHILE BYU LOSES TO KANSAS
LETS GOOOO
Could not have played out better for them, that game in Tempe is gonna be wild this weekend
You forgot Texas Tech! They are basically in the same boat as Missouri. The sun is more likely to explode, but they could get into the Big XII championship game.
Anyway, great analysis.
Wow, didn't even see that but you're right. Definitely need a lot to happen, but this season has showed us that anything is possible.
Missouri though is out of the SEC race. Tech is still in the Big 12 race, right?
You're correct. I missed that detail. So, not the exact same boat as Missouri. Good catch!
Oregon almost shit the bed in Madison
Sadly already out of date due to BYU losing
Working on a video to update everything as we speak
BYU's loss really opened things up
call me crazy, but if colorado state wins out and beats boise in the mw championship and essentially every other g5 contender loses out, the rams will likely get the bid
10-2 SEC should 100% make it over 11-1 Indiana. Fight me.
77 subs now
Lmao goat
Gamecocks gotta be a dark horse to get in if they win out
They're knocking on the door for sure, I'll cover them thoroughly in the update video.
