I'm glad someone else sees how useful that rustoleum bedliner is. Dries in minutes, covers pretty much anything, and doesn't look half bad. Also, really glad to get a good video on coils and coilovers. I've been looking into switching to coilovers for a while, but was always lost about what I needed or even where to start with the process. I've also always wondered what those ridiculous shocks were for and now I know.
Cool videos. Good info, thanks. I grew up in Vegas area and been using Adams driveshaft for so many years. When I owned a business building trucks, Later I became a Mac tool guy and Adams was one of my stops. Top quality people with best gear. Never ripped people off on parts or repairs in house. The only place I will ever use for driveline, gearing, etc. Many companies can have well designed parts- but honesty and integrity are more rare- they have it all.
I like the exhaust pipe kicking out the gas tank plate too! Love how you take the Jeep to the garage and then to the trail to really show us how it performs. Awesome!! Have fun at the TrailtoSEMA!! Can’t wait to see your videos!!! ❤️🐞
Maaaan you rock! I enjoy your videos so much, I'm about to resurect my XJ project that's been rotting for the past year, all because you make me crave the fab and the wheeling. Those slow-mo tire shots were NUTS and your videos are getting better and better. Can't wait to see how TTS will be for you! Congrats on the build. Nice, simple and original.
Fairly new to your channel but love your editing style and format. Your humble appreciation for your sponsors is inspiring for someone who is thinking of starting a channel. My life is full of all kinds of adventures and I think I could find a niche.
Really amazing what upgrading your suspension does for your ability to wheel!!! My wife just shakes her head and thinks I’m an idiot. Totally impressed with your TJ build and your fabrication skills. One other thing, the exhaust coming through the rear plate is freaking awesome! Nice touch.
i just picked up a 1980 CJ7 that I'm turning into a rock crawler. Im from Washington, but now I live in Nevada. I just want to say that I love your videos and your TJ looks bad ass! Happy Jeeping!!
Great video! I would love to do a stretch similar to this on my TJ. Great inspiration and always love how detailed you are when trying to explain every piece of your builds. Keep up the great work.
Love this channel. I love that you show us how it is done and walk through the pluses and minuses. Plus I get nostalgic for the PNW watching your wheeling clips (I grew up in Puyallup).
Man you have done such an amazing job on your Jeep, the brand, the channel. Man I love watching your videos I started with bleepin Jeep and always thought dude nates stuff is more understandable and he seems professional, the other guys are great and I love the xj stuff I learn because that’s why I have but honestly your content is amazing! Keep it up and have a great time man
Thanks! Not sure about KOH this year. I have a pretty big opportunity in January. If everything pans out I'll be working on a pretty special project with some really cool folks! But spending some time on the good trails instead of lost sounds great! 😂
@@DirtLifestyle Oh nice! sounds like some really great fun (and content)! In your shoes, I would do that as well. Well you went to KOH last year, so you know what it's about. Do a subscriber run, let's wheel.
I ws once told that in German, when i and e are together, you pronounce the second one long. So Bilstein would be pronounced "bill stine" unless the owner says it differently. Has worked fof me for years. 😁
I recently saw a TJ on currie 60's, LS swap, coilover rears and leaf springs up front.... They cut off the coil set up and put leaves on it. Blew my mind.
Sooooo nice to see Bilstein reservoir coils (coilovers) in the video pic for an offroad channel!!! Been putting them on VW's for 2 decades now and i love them. Even their regular shocks are frikin amazing. P.s.- it's pronounced "Bill-steen"
Your Jeep is the Jeep my jeep wants to Jeep in the Jeep future. But seriously I absolutely love all the self made gear. You have inspired me to try and make a new front chin skid plate for my JKUR
First video of yours I've seen, and i loved the whole thing. Great quality production value, and lots of good information. Thanks a bunch for sharing man, also dreaming of a diesel jeep in my future.
Just a helpful piece of info if your near a paintball shop they fill those nitrogen tanks.. because they either use co2 or Nitrogen for paintball and now a days mainly nitrogen
Thanks again Nate. Your B-Roll is getting really good too. You gotta come north lad, the BC Four Wheel Drive Association would dig on dragging you through our trails. Take a look at Hut Lake in Squamish, you would like it.
I too have been using Adams driveshaft and I'm very impressed. I called Kevin at Adams driveshaft today and let him know that all rigs with Adams driveshafts did not break it hoodoo this weekend.
On the wheels around 20:09 - 20:46 + I'm wondering, does the wheel or beadlock extend up, to protect the value stem? First time seeing that (if that's what I'm seeing) and I think it's a good idea for "true" off-roading situations What Brand/Model wheels?
Does shock angle matter? Ive seen them mounted towards the front in the rear and towards the rear. Only part of my build I’m stuck on. Thank you for the videos.
Man, you are absolutely killing it. You improved so much with your video skills since your days with bleepin jeep. It is way, way, way, way harder than it looks to do what you are doing. I hope someday I will be invited to trail to SEMA! Have fun.
What are your thoughts on the new 4 Door JL's and the 44's they are running. Been considering either getting a newer JL thats built out, or getting a cheaper 2D JK! Thanks and awesome videos. Love the information.
Good job, great video. Very helpful. Can you talk about spring rates in the future? I love your style in video editing, where/how do you find the music/instrumentals?
Nate i would like to ask you how did you fit these shocks because i checked bilstein’s catalog and it seems that they dont fit to any jeep except the JLs . Keep up the great work!
Hi I live in BC. Love the vids. Great quality. Love the jeep you have. Alot of great parts on it. I have done a build on a JKU. Currently buying an LJ 40's on tons.
I thought i wouldnt like the look without a tire carrier.. But damn it looks so badass.. Glad it all came together so well! Also love how the tail pipe looks.. 🤘
I've got to ask... I've been looking at those Bilstein's myself. There really isn't a lot of information out there about them. Do they exhibit any of the 'clicking' that can be associated with other bypass shocks? I watched the video several times, and couldn't detect any. Thanks!
You said you have a jetta Diesel in the jeep. You also said if you were to do it again you would start with b-4 Cummins. Can you use a bigger Cummins in a jeep than that? Or a different diesel motor with a little more horsepower? I want to make my own 4x4 rock crawler, and I want a diesel in it. But I haven't decided on the build just yet because I'm trying to figure out the best build. I also think I want a manual transmission. It would be nice to be able to add an attlas as well. But I'm also concerned with the engine bay and this is why I keep reconsidering my choices. I'd like some thoughts you might have for me, or suggestions.
Unfortunately I have no idea lol. My experience with this tank is very limited but I've pumped up my bumpstops a few times now and the gauge has barely moved. It looks like I could fill alot of them before this tank will run out 👍
Just curious, the old tire carrier you had on there that mounted to the body, how did that hold up? I’m curious cause I would like to build something similar but do not have corner guards. I’d be mounting straight to the body. Wondering if it would be strong enough.
It held up great! But keep in mind it was mounted to 3/16" corner armor. Not just sheet metal. All the hardware I used was great 8 and fat washer's on the back side. Good luck with your build!
Thanks man! Keep up the good work! In your opinion, do you think if I added some bracing front and back it would be fine? Also did you go all the way through the body? I really like your videos. I have learned a lot and plan to incorporate some of your ideas in my own build!
Almost every paintball store or paintball field will fill that 3000 psi powertank/paintball tank you're using to tune the bumpstops. That is for sure a paintball tank. Should be like $3 - $5 to fill.
@@DirtLifestyle yeah, old school paintball gun use co2, anything made after like 2000 uses compressed air/nitrogen. The real nice tanks will do 4500 PSI too
Awesome! Keep up the work I'm planning on solid axle swapping my 4runner and go coilsprung front on radius arms all on a dana 44. This video gave me some motivation so for that thank you!
I would be a little bit uncomfortable routing my exaust next to my gas tank so close. Running good shocks (love my Kings) will have you driving faster off road with the smooth and control added. The external bypass is nice so is a bigger shock. I am considering coil overs up front but after weighing my Bronco front rear and whole truck Bret King tuned them GREAT. Not sure about the rear I have Deavers and a strong frame to frame two tube upper mount for shock length. Coils would require space inside and tubbing in the body but ? The off roading done with well built trucks at higher speed still has surprises. Most are handled when built well but exhaust next to the gas tank and a surprise could be to much surprise. Maybe some heat wrap at the location would be a option ?
I've got a front drive shaft from them. Isn't even a year old and the slip shaft is wore out. Any advise on it. What I can do to to fix this. And yes the diff angle is pointing directly at the Tcase
Awesome video and the information is very useful. One question is for a guy who cannot build his own suspension system what long arm kit would you recommend for an LJ?
Now when talking about coil springs. You didn't mention spring rates. I see you are running a multi-rate spring. The question is what spring rates do you think work the best for 4 wheeling. Heavy or light?
It's a multi spring rate but the soft rate doesn't do anything for the ride. The soft rate is to keep the spring in place when the axle is fully extended. I like the lightest springs possible that can still hold the weight of the vehicle 👍
If I didn't know better, i'd say you were excited for those new bypass shocks! haha. For good reason too, those will ride great! Hows the Trail to SEMA going? I've been watching other channels like Bleepin and JK G&G and it looks like a great time! Did you go up Back Door?
Yeah I'm pumped about these shocks. Trail to sema is awesome! I didn't do back door. My jeep isn't near long enough for that obstacle. I wouldn't try it with less than a 120" wheelbase. I'd like to build a truggy and then I'll be more inclined to do back door 👍
I'm glad someone else sees how useful that rustoleum bedliner is. Dries in minutes, covers pretty much anything, and doesn't look half bad. The improvements to the jeep were much needed and really rad. Jeep looks great man!
When you charge your bumps or your shocks it is always a good idea to fully compress them and then fill for a more precise pressurization.
Maaaan you rock! I enjoy your videos so much, I'm about to resurect my XJ project that's been rotting for the past year, all because you make me crave the fab and the wheeling. Thanks for the heads up about Adams Driveshafts. Needed one for my CJ and got one on order.
If my TJ wasn't my daily driver I would love to build it similar to yours. You do great work and have an awesome Jeep.
Thank you buddy! Its definitely not a daily driver!
Definitely digging the new look. Doesn’t look so tall and tippy. Nice work bro!!! 😎🤘

The exhaust note seems a lot different. You don't hear the turbo spool/whistle as much.
The rear wheel location will provide a great departure angle.

Can you add bypass shocks without having to build a tower? I have an LJ on a 5.5" lift
