just finished playing virtua sonic! the game is exhilarating and fast paced! took me a while to get used to the controls though, and the boss sequence at the end was amazing! all in all this is an amazing fan game that lets you feel like sonic the hedgehog!
I tried this out last night and it was incredible. The controls take some time to get used to, but I had so much fun with it! Definitely gonna play it again soon.
You never cease to amaze. Can't wait to see how this plays! Good luck at SAGE!
Yoooo. This is the real deal ! I just finished playing it and I was shocked at how good it was. It worked really well ! Props, man ! Amazing work ! I did have trouble getting used to jump controls tho. Nice of you to include vr chao .... and cream :).
Wow wow wow wow wow. Took me 2 hours to set it up, it worth every second, it feels like a legit product. It earned the first spot in the best free vr games list, the best sonic fan games list, and its one of my favorate vr games OF ALL TIME

Please- if you see this- if you could ever make a quest 2 version it'd be spectacular; I want to play it but my PC isn't VR-Ready, and I can't afford 1,000+ worth of parts to make one.
Absolutely amazing! Sure, the game's short, and I wish there was more content, but I can understand why it's so short. But for what it's worth this is definitely the best Sonic in VR experience hands down. SEGA should take notes and hire you for a fully fledged, SonicVR game, Hell, I'd even settle for a SonicVR game made by the community, much like Sonic Mania. But amazing job! Is the source code available anywhere to be modified and improved upon for us in the community to continue working on this amazing foundation?-
I am SO excited to get to playing this... but it seems like it doesn't work on the index? It tracks my fingers just fine on my controllers but other than that I can't seem to move or jump or do anything. It tells me to use the move buttons and pump my arms and I swear I've tried every button and none of them work or do anything. Am I being stupid and just not pressing the right button somehow or is this a known issue?

The game was amazing,I loved it so much if you ever plan to add more levels I have some ideas, because EggMAN is using chao now maby there should be a chao garden. Any ways if you do this idea or not the actual game was way past cool.
love it but there is one problem i have to keep having to move around cuz my room is small, can you please add a button i can use to turn without having keep looking that way.
Hello, the game is awesome, but please make it possible to rotate the character on the buttons. Now the only thing the character can do is rotate 180 degrees. My room does not allow me to turn where I want, but I really want to play. You can make settings and the type of movement - smooth rotation. This will really help me enjoy the game
upd: Please make also just jump on the trigger. Now the jump is too unreliable and often does not work. I play on HTC Vive
Is it possible to get the game's OST ? The sakura stage ost is godly.
I know this is mainly for SteamVR users, but would it be possible to make this Quest 2-useable as well? I know porting it to Android like that won't be easy, but I think it would be awesome to see this in action for those who might not yet have the kind of power needed to play the PC version.
i really just can't figure out how to download this using the oculus quest 2 connected to my gaming pc
I’m having trouble setting it up. I’m using the oculus quest w/ oculus link. Every time I try to start it up, it gets stuck on the loading screen. It pops up on my monitor, but not In the headset. Is there something I’m doing wrong?
Edit: never mind, I figured it out. You had to start it in steamvr, not the oculus app.

Just finished playing it! It was a lot of fun... I do have one issue that I'd like to mention though - for some reason, during the tutorial level, Sonic was smaller than he should've been (about the height of the grass, making it pretty hard to see where I'm going), resulting in the jumping tutorial being impossible to complete, as Sonic didn't jump high enough. I suspect the other levels may have been affected too to some extent, as subsequent platforming sections are difficult, if not impossible due to the jump height.
I don't know if the height calibration was messing up, and/or if it's an issue of me playing it through Virtual Desktop, but it did make things harder than it otherwise would've been.
Also, this might be due to the Knuckles-style hand straps I put on my Quest controllers, but I frequently found myself pressing the menu buttons by accident. Would it be possible to make it so you have to hold the button down to open the menu instead of instantly opening?
I normally would've posted this as a reply on SFGHQ, but with the website constantly going down, I can't exactly do that :v

There are some issues with Quest Link that, unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out yet.
@@SuperSonic68 Ahh, I see. I hope you're able to fix it soon! Even with the issues I was having, though, I still had a fantastic time with Virtua Sonic! This was by far my most anticipated SAGE game and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I had a silly grin on my face the entire time I was playing it, and that doesn't happen often!
I do have one question though: Is this a slice of what will eventually be a larger game, or is this meant to be a short mini-story? If it's the latter, do you have any plans to open-source this project as a framework at some point? I think there's a lot of potential here, and I'd love to try making something with it.

Does this work with mouse and keyboard? I see it worked fine in the lobby, but when I load into a zone I can't seem to control Sonic at all.
@@someuntakenname1 well it works fine in the lobby area though, which is strange.
@@sonicovertime its probably something left over from when the creator was developing the game or something. this game isnt really made to be played flatscreen, infact it would probably be kinda boring or atleast not as fun as other sonic games if it was in flatscreen.

@@sonicovertime this game is honestly a joy to play after you get used to the controls, just dont have this be your first vr game, im not sure since i already have experience in VR but id imagine a game like this would be very motion sickening just from the speed loops and slopes and stuff. id recommend trying some teleport only games first.

Hook it up to a capable PC using Oculus Link. It's not natively Quest-compatible so you'll have to use the Quest in PC-VR mode, either through Link or Virtual Desktop.

Index user here. The grip sensitivity for braking is way too sensitive which makes it difficult to operate the other controls. Also there is no pause button mapped. Otherwise it's fun and well crafted!
may I ask how tf you even move on index lol
@@BillehBawb held both B buttons while moving my arms while trying not to touch the grip at all to prevent braking

Not standalone Quest, no. The environments are far too big to run on a Quest. You could use Virtual Desktop, though!
I really wanted to play this since I first found out about it.
Now that I've tried it I say it's absolutely excellent, beautiful visuals, motion is perfect. Honestly way better than my original SonicVR demo.
Unfortunately, for me, it's borderline unplayable! The jump mechanic is good when it works, it doesn't always, but it's not too big a problem.
I have an OK play space, I imagine most people have less than me, but it's not a 360 space.
Having the rotation fade out slowly and always go a full 180 degrees completely ruined it for me.
The game would literally be a million times better with just that changed.
Make the turn smooth, just as an option, no tricks, no extras, nothing, just that, suddenly the game goes from I can't play it, to OMG it's perfect!
I'm sad to say that I rage quit, but it's true.
Though I really want to use the analogue stick, that part is entirely dev's choice, so no problem with that.
Really glad the nose can be switched off, if it was nice and small I would leave it on, but it's a bit too much for me.
Please please do a turn fix in an update. Even let me know if you've got time because I would play this through so many times if I could, right now I just can't.

EDIT: Removed part about turn being on one side of each stick, I forgot about Steam rebinding, I'm dumb like that sometimes.
Wow!! Thanks for trying it, Nimso Ny! I'll see what I can do about making the snap-turn a bit more reasonable. At the very least, I'll make the turn be 45 degrees each time instead of a full 180.
Okay! I'll be rolling out Version 1.3 soon that will snap rotate the player 45 degrees and removes the fade to black entirely.

I own the Vive cosmos, I can't run. The only whay I can move is to press the left click button, it makes sonic roll
I thought that I had created a binding profile for Cosmos. If you're having issues, you may want to go into the Custom Bindings and map "triggerpress" to the main trigger, "touchpadpress" to the face buttons on either controller and "Grab Grip" to the side triggers.
