London's Unique Freight-Only Line | Featuring RARE London Foot Crossing!

- 🛤️ Time for a trip down the Angerstein Wharf Branch! 🛤️
🟥 Built to serve Angerstein Wharf, the line opened in 1852 and was a hugely important part of the Greenwich Peninsula, providing a huge variety of freight services for a multitude of different duties. We cover the history of the line, it's present-day operations, and what the future holds for the branch.
❌ We also take a look at the branch's popular foot crossing - one of the only crossings of its kind in London. This is the same crossing that has been featured by the likes of Geoff Marshall and Jago Hazzard - links to those excellent pieces are at the bottom of this description!

Geoff Marshall did a video on that small little freight line in Southeast London going back several years ago.
Freight isn't something I usually see covered, especially in the south east. Nice one 👍
Great branch! Thanks pal 👍
Excellent mate 😀👍👍 Subscribed 👍👍
Thank you very much pal. Your handle reminds me I need to get my plans together for a visit to the ELR next year!
@@trainsonthebrain Yeah I must have a visit myself pal 😀👍
Good to see the crossing is still open. I like the extra shots of the trains at different sections. Well done!
Thanks Morthren! You would not believe the heartbreak trying to film material at those different angles away from the physical crossing - the amount of times a timetabled movement would either cancel at the last minute or stop further up the route and take a much later path, I could have cried. Worth the strife though for the end result 👍
@@trainsonthebrain I can very much believe it! The work that can go into 10 - 20 seconds of footage sometimes can amount to days! Persistence pays off though. 🙂
@@morthren Thank you again, amazing to get views from a channel of your size! A real benchmark for newer channels and Johnny-come latelys like myself 🍻
Lovely video

@@trainsonthebrain no problem!
Nice video, just a pedantic note: concrete is not transported by rail. It would be cement.
Thanks Paul, glad you liked it. Not sure where I read that at the time but thanks to clarifying 👍
Superb video

@@PenyghentProductions Ah thanks mate. Sorry been playing catch up over the last few days for channels so will check it out ASAP!
@@trainsonthebrain Yh no worries pal take as much time as u need matie
Very Nice Video, glad I could get there today in fact. It feels scarily close to the powerful Class 66 at the Crossing, especially with all those wheels. Do you mind me asking when your next video is?
Thanks very much CPTrains and agreed, the 66's initial toot did startle me a tad! New content coming soon - not long after I started the channel work became exceptionally busy with a promotion, so I had to put some videos on hold, but getting back into the groove now! 👍
@@trainsonthebrain Glad to see your back! Well done on the promotion as well!
@@CPTrains Thanks pal!
